    I don't get that the rusted camshafts have no ware leaving you on the side of the road stranded. What is up with that? Just asking ☮️

    • @bbgcars
      @bbgcars 17 днів тому

      The car had a blown head gasket forcing the car to ingest water in side the engine causing all internals to rust then i attempted to work on it in the middle of the rainy season and couldn't fix it immediately so it sat for 3 weeks causing rust in the cylinders that I had to hone with my hands as I had no power there ...the cams were polished by me offsite. Thanks for watching the video!

      I KNOW RIGHT! The harddrive that the whole restoration is on crashed and I have to get it to an expert to retrieve the data thats why we havent posted anything after EP1 ...SIGH! .....There was enough for 8-10 episodes on that thing! , Everything was restored nut and bolt. But rest assured we are working on it! In the meantime you can watch ZEBRA ADVENTURES! that has all the troubles and breakdowns that are associated with modifying china bikes! I started this in 2006 with my own china engine parts designs (this bike made the 2007 inside racing issue in the modded bike section with a Philippines first fully chromed engine!) and dominated all Z200s in Manila then and will continue to DOMINATE the MODERN ITERATION, GPRs , Z200II, Z200xx etc. in 2024 and beyond! We are working on Rebuilding the head rn with Nickel bronze seats, nickel bronze guides, racing springs, racing pushrods, BTW stock valves were I=32mm, E=27mm.......The ones getting installed are 35MM FOR THE EXHAUST ALONE!!, Imagine the intake valve size???.....Bore is currently 70MM Since 2006, will be upgraded BIGGER THAN 74MM!!, This will be enough to beat anything 390ccs and below on the streets! A CUSTOM FORGED HERCULES BLOCK FROM THIALAIND WITH A DIAMETER OF 95MM IS NEXT ON THE MENU MAKING IT 550ccs!! STAY TUNED MGA BROTHERS! We will keep her STOCK APPEARING for a reason and unassuming to make sure we get ambushed all the time and the would be foe will be defeated at any speed! Take care!

    Is it necessary to disassemble 50% of the car just to to change the headlights? And after so much of effort, I was not impressed with illumination thrown out by the LED headlights

    • @bbgcars
      @bbgcars 3 місяці тому

      Hello, thanks for watching the video.. First. No it's not necessary to remove 50 percent of the parts to do this... It was an instructional video designed for people that decided to change the entire assembly all at once if they wanted to.. Instead of making 2 videos.. One video was made instead... And as for the power a low discharge unit was used instead of a high one due to its cost.. As you know about LEDs the higher the power the higher the cost... This video is for beginners and entry level mechanics and the cost needs to be reasonable as such.. Thank you for watching our video.

    That looks awesome … I just picked up a carb EF sedan few weeks ago. Been searching online for a filter setup like that to fit these carbs. Is yours off the shelf or home made ? The ones i’m seeing online are square cutouts not circular to fit the 4” diameter of our carbs. Any help be appreciated thanks.

    • @bbgcars
      @bbgcars 5 місяців тому

      Great! This filter was actually purchased from some Asian sites called LAZADA. If youre in the US or other countries aliexpress would be your best bet as they're available over there, also TEMU has them. Yah carb cars are finicky but when setup correctly they runs with the best of them. Thanks for watching the video! I will have more Honda Content in the future as. I have a 1997 Honda SIR.. ACCORD! • @bbgcars
      @bbgcars 7 місяців тому

      @@bluetipz5100 The CHAIN does not need alignment. What needs alignment is the Crank Pulley which needs an alignment tool in the rear of the block which stops the crank counterweight from moving while you tighten the crank bolt. and also the cam timing has to be done correctly based on what I showed you in this video. MAKE SURE the number 1 cylinder is in TOP DEAD CENTER before setting the cam and crank timing.

      thank you very much one last question in order for me to align these correctly does my vechile needs to be stalled straight foward meaning no wheels turnt at all 4 are straight are i can align it with my two from tires turning a little

    • @bbgcars
      @bbgcars 7 місяців тому

      Hehe no sir! Wheel alignment has nothing to do with engine work whatsoever ! The reason I have the passenger side wheel off is so that you ca easily get to the crank pulley and all related parts in that area so you can access them without issue and yes ! It better the wheels are straight just for safety's sakes.if your uncertain get yourself and experienced mechanic with you to help you as you will need 2 people to do this job effectively. Good luck and be safe !

      Interesting! I'm all about American cars and they need to be taken care of and they are reliable but unforgiving sadly! So after decades of working on cars I have determined that toyotas are pretty well built and also hondas ..isuzus are near bulletproof and nissans are good too..as far as head gasket repair on your v6..its pretty straight forward..if after removing your heads off your v6 check your block for straightness, if it checks out then your good to go with just resurfacing your head! If not then the engine has to be removed, disassembled and resurfaced requiring a full rebuild. At this point it's cheaper to buy another escape as total cost of the rebuild will exceed the value of the car! These are the kinda of escapes I like to buy as I can fix them cheap..have a great day.

    • @bbgcars
      @bbgcars 8 місяців тому

      Oh dont worry that car has since been running well and delivered to it's new owner 3 months ago! There are actually quite a few more videos left about this car but as you know you tube and drama ...it sells so the drama is extensive on this car but finally came through it in the end. It went for a road trip several times form manila to Angeles and manila to sun Fernando pampanga philippines..you can see on the map it's quite a drive. This car had multiple issues affecting it..when it overheated 75 percent of the sensors were melted! That's how hot it got.i had to go thru each and every one of them to fix the issues plaguing this car. Then very low compression because the area I was at did not allow me to bring my honing tools so the cylinders had to be broken in strictly.by driving for a long time. Then the steering angle had to be reset or else the car would not start! This requires a specific scan tool which I have. Then comes the hard part..driving it constantly for weeks if not months! After that the car ran smoothly, computer did a relearn and after weeks of driving the cat is fine and all the power and most of the compression returned! I had to use engine restore to assist me in this job but it worked and I have to make a separate video on that! So trust me dont worry! These videos are months behind my backlog of videos and the car is great, has a new owner and is still going strong about 3 to 4 months ago! Thanks for watching and reaching out.

    So in order to line up the harmonic balancer correctly you need to: 1) hope and pray your timing chain didn't jump teeth 2) line up the cams on tdc #1 and insert a straight edge into the cams 3) hope and pray the timing chain isn't off a tooth 4) lacking confidence and certainty that the timing didn't jump a tooth because there is no visible crank markings external to the timing cover.. .. we install the harmonic balancer using a guide bolt at the 6 o'clock position to press on the harmonic balancer onto the crank. 5) fingers crossed that the cam timing didn't jump a tooth ? because we really don't know. right ? n

    • @bbgcars
      @bbgcars 11 місяців тому

      Hello.. Actually your procedure is totally off! Just rewatch that video again from beginning to end. Both the cam gears and crank pulley are pressed on and require 1. The timing tool (available on amazon , I had to make one cus it's not available in the jungles where I'm at), align the cams in the correct orientation on the compression stroke on number 1 cylinder , (keep cam gears loose because u need to move then around !) ,once the cans are lined up use a cam alignment tool or vice grips like I did to make sure cams. dont move! 2. NOW align the 10mm bolt on the crank pulley at the correct orientation as shown in the video , 2. Align the throws of the crankshaft using the timing tab tool, this will give the correct TDC on the number one piston. When aligned and pulley held in place by the 10mm bolt then torque it to spec. And torque the cam.gears to spec assuming .... 1. Cam gears are held in place by 2 vice grips as this is important..and timing chain slipping a tooth is irrelevant on this engine as its variable timing based on the crank only not on the cam gears ! 2. Crankshaft didnt move because you have the timing tool and the crank throw is butt against the timing tool which you can see the window on the block on side 3. Cam lobes of both intake and exhaust on number 1 cylinder are facing the right direction and shown in the video for the compression stroke . THEN TORQUE IT ALL TO SPEC AND RECHECK IT TO MAKE SURE BOTH CRANK AND CAMS DIDNT MOVE ! it's that sinple... watch video again and follow my word for word procedure here that I've written to you and you cant go wrong..enjoy!

    • @bbgcars
      @bbgcars 11 місяців тому

      And one more thing..when using the 10mm bolt for the harmonic balancer make sure the teeth on the pulley is lined up with the pickup on the 9th tooth I believe..I'm not exact but it's in the video and important the teeth line up..I have it clearly in the instructions in the video..good luck!..it not luck. You either know how to do it or not...its all you! Hehe

    thanks for the help. im currently working on a 2008 v6 ford escape. engine is sitting on the ground. I had to take transmission out to replace the leaking pump cover (common problem with fords where rust takes over). and when I went to remove the transmission I broke an exhuast stud on the origional cylinder head rear bank. so I pulled the engine and orded an ebay $200 cylinder head and am replacing oil pan gasket. crank pulley, cylinder head, and valve cover gaskets. @@bbgcarsI’m building a bored and stroked 1970 455 with butler performance rotating assembly and cam, I’m going to have head work done to improve flow because I have a set of 7F6 round ports. I debated buying alum heads but if I spent the same amount or even less l money having the 7F6 heads ported etc I’d probably make more power and flow better than standard alum heads. Plus it’s gonna be cool to have actual Pontiac parts (minus internals which no one can see lol)😅

      Awesome! Those 7F6 are sick! I normally run ported 5c's or 6X's on my engines, but being away from the u.s. I cant get a hold of them here cus all the peeps here like to hoard pontiac engines and most big Inch engines from all makes for that matter ! Is your engine a butler built 461, 474 or 535 cid??

      @@bbgcars 461, it’s going in a 1977 Bandit trans am that I have a tremec 5 speed in that I am going to drive a lot. So I’m trying to make a street friendly daily driver that will run great on pump gas. It has a 68 gto 400 (.030” over so actually a 406) right now that’s been in it since the late 90’s and it still runs like a champ. I ran nitrous on it for years so it goes to show how strong the Pontiac engines are to still run this hood after all these years. I’m upgrading the rear end too, just haven’t picked between a 9” ford or 12 bolt.

      @bbgcars Рік тому

      Wow that is amazing! Yes pontiac engines are very strong , I had an early nascar style build back in the day pushing big race numbers on the street with a high overlap cam and I always has to have it in neutral while I was at the light! I was driving a 1974 transam SD 455! Yes it was a real one...but it was 1991 and I didn't realize what I had to a totaled her and checked the original title and records years later but sadly as I went back to the junkyard that took her they would not under any circumstances sell me the car back because I learned a lot about body work and could rebuild her ..but it eventually for crushed and I'm still sad about it ! I wish I could go back in time! I would have never raced that car and just raced my charger instead as it was a plain Jane one..ah the memories ..in the future I will be doing some more engine builds ,like a BIg block Chevy, LT 1 chevy, small block 305 chevy strike. And others stay tuned ! Btw why don't you add a Fitech fuel injection system to your engine , it would run so much better and you could fire it up in the winter with no problems cus the Pontiac engines are cold blooded creatures! I had a pair of 5C heads available as well but it had s crack in one of them.I built this engine for more torque because it's in the Philippines so high speed isnt necessary. The cam I used was a comp cams xtreme energy 274, with hypereutectic pistons, moly rings and factory crank...[the HO block remains and is numbers matching]

    Hello again from the other ep. Video. Ok i started my process from this video. I did the crank pulley bolt trick... (remind u i have the 3.0 engine). I did my balancer, chains & cams markings to the "T". I disassembled everything installed all of my new gaskets. & reassembled new fluids on all fluid trans, oils. So my question is... What possibly could go wrong? I believe I may have to just get another engine or crush it. Because I just tried my 1st start up & all i got was a click. Not sure what's what. Another thing since doing the crank bolt with pipe n ground loosener. That puller was never able to turn clockwise. Even put car gear in neutral to see if would start & turn clockwise freely & nothing but a click again. Can u help? I can't redo the process alot of money spent, time, work n back pains. Help please

    • @bbgcars
      @bbgcars Рік тому

      Not sure..most of the cases I've seen have to do with ECU issues, I just got lucky, usually it's that entire module with fuses mounted inside that's the culprit....best to replace the entire assembly power and fuse module....for me. I'm in a foreign country so I dont have that luxury here....my advice is to use a good scanner like the launch or the innovation as those have 2 way capability that powered on and tests all modules looking for power issues..good luck! Hello sir thanks for watching our videos .....both engines are nearly identical and there should be no issues using the same procedure for the 2.2 and the 2.5...here is an excerpt from my manuals. Both have the same exact valve sizes, the same exhaust port size & location, but the 2.5L head (casting # RF8E5E) has VCT (variable cam timing) and an intake port that is roughly 1.630" tall vs the 2.3L head (casting # 3S4G) that has an intake port that is roughly 1.438" tall. The only physical difference is the stroke and the horsepower and torque that goes with it. Dont forget to subscribe and tell your friends about us...have a great day!
