Great demonstration, buddy! This video has the most information I seen !! 👍🏻 thanks for sharing 👍🏻
Thanks buddy! If you have any questions on any other sets just let me know:)
Do you get head catches in the coffee can set years back in the 90s I saw a #10 can set using 110s there was actually a template to make tabs in such a way that the top of the trap jaws didnt actually move, so you would get high neck/ head catches and not have to worry about bringing the trap/animal home, but that was years ago the trapper claimed he trapped predominately in the black spruce Knolls, and actually did an experiment basically he cut one side of his trigger wire and put a hollow twig on the remaining wire and according to him his catch rate went nuts, it would seem like alot more work, but if you had them already baited and set ready to go might be pretty fast. Excellent content!!!😊
I love the can sets! I have a template that shows where to cut the can so that the trap fits inside of it
Boo murderer
Nice
Wrong audio?
What makes a good location for any type of marten trap?
Marten prefer old growth, forest and mountainous terrain but you can find them in lower elevations
what song iz dis
Big pimpin by jay-z
Yep… blessing or curse, the days are now getting shorter!
Where can you purchase one of those Snare support whirligigs?
The one I have my buddy made for me. I’m not sure if there’s a place you can buy them. I’ll ask him when he gets out of the mountains if he would be willing to sell you one if u want
That would be greatly appreciated. I use mainly number nine wire for wolves.
Very long cable on the trap, if you catch marten or squirrel, fox or cayot can take your trophy!😉
Some of the cable on my traps were a bit to long and I had to cut it down a bit

That's a nice tumbler in the background lol.
Great video and I like your sense of humor.
Thanks buddy! I always have a great time on the line!
Great how to video with a couple different types of sets! I really like the visual of the cd hanging. Do you find it improves catch rate? I never thought of the visual aspect for marten but use it with lynx sets but never occurred that it’s one more sense of the animal so why wouldn’t it help.
I definitely feel it helps! Especially when it starts getting really cold and lure doesn’t have the same pungent smell.
What part of Alaska are you from?
Interior Alaska buddy
Good shooting guys
Wish we had more variety were I live in Alaska
What part of the interior do you hunt? Minto ? Fairbanks? Delta ?
South of Fairbanks. All over really
Great channel guys . Liveing the life up in alaska I say. Hope you and family doing well toward Christmas 🎄 in few days . As of hunting lucks fun are you hunting with 12ga or 10ga ? Also where those sea ducks ? Good channel check out is Blue collar Outdoors USA these boys from NY do lot of deer hunting and duck hunting and gesse hunting and shotgun reviews and broadhead reviews.
Stoeger m3500 is what I shoot. We we’re hunting out of Whittier for this trip
Great shooting on those duck and great triple. @AlaskanBallistics share few of your video in the past. You got epic hunting up in Alaska . Never hunt duck my self I'm from Pennsylvania mustly a deer in turkey hunter and small game hunter love get into waterfawl maybe few years.
Definitely appreciate everything!!!!!
@@theealaskanviking5257 no problem at all. Share 2 your duck hunting video a bunch over on mewe hopefully it will help 🙏 . Have merry Christmas to u and the family . You happen get any tags in for draw for alaska herd they do soon ?
Yoooo, digging the long hair buddy! Hope all is well with you.
Thanks buddy!
New to trapping. Live in Anchorage and have only got 2 marten so far. Are marten more active in November and December or are they relatively consistent through the end of season? Also, do you have better success with the skunky lure vs. a more mild non-skunky lure? Or is it all about the bait? Thanks.
Marten move in elevation pending on the weather and primarily stick to a 5 mi.² home range. I prefer the Skunky lure because it holds up better in negative weather. Bait is all about eye appeal. Keep stacking them and build on success
@@theealaskanviking5257 Thanks for the info. Is it that they move up in elevation or down with warmer/colder weather?
The colder it is the higher they tend to go

Estupendas cazerias amigos saludos chebres
Nice hunt!
Very cool!!
Very good video on multiple sets, best I’ve seen. Now a subscriber and fan. I use both Hellfire, ghusto and others I like are Skunk junk, and marten magic all are very good in cold temperatures here in far north Minnesota on Canadian border. I do add some feathers by some of my sets as well. Thanks and good luck to you👍
Thanks for the support! Glad you liked the video! Good luck this season.
That was a pretty wicked day in passage. We pulled out right in front of you on that ice free ramp.
That wind was killer!
Been in alaska for 2 years and finally was able to duck hunt this season as I was still getting settled in last season. I'm in NorthPole/Fairbanks area and was wondering if you have any general suggestions of where to go in the south central area now that the interior is froze over. (Not asking for your hunting spots haha) I tried looking up info online but not much info outside of our general area.
I’d hit the coast Anchorage area or Valdez. I’m going to hunt Whittier in a couple weeks
@@theealaskanviking5257 right on. I was looking into valdez. I've been there once and not much time in Anchorage. I'm going to try to make it down there Veteran's day weekend or closer to Thanksgiving when I can get time off of work. I appreciate it.
Nice shootin!
It kills me that you never have a dog out there working 😝. Come with us sometime and see some dog awesome work!
Absolutely man!

Nice shooting.
Holy shit! Nice triple!!
I'm curious, why over and under?
Every once in a while I like to switch it up just for fun:)

who makes the kill spring you are using?
I believe I bought them from the snare shop
What’s that O/U shotgun you’re using?
It’s a Remington 310 Spartan :)
Apache here, We’re taught to kill them on site. Nasty ol things..
Lots of sets ,no marten in any of them
It was a demonstration on some sets I use, I wasn’t actively trapping
Great vid man
Thanks!
Good video. I wish we could do that in our state. that would be illegal here in Wisconsin. Wisconsin got so many laws it makes it hard for us Trappers.
It seems like more and more laws are being pushed through! It’s sad
Love this idea. I think the only improvement would be to make the pig tail slightly open between the wraps then you could twist a snare wire on vs pre making them. But I guess it doesn't really matter as when you pull dogs out your taking down the snare and the support.
I use the same set up, Fast and ez to make once you have the tools and even faster to set in the woods.
It makes it sooooo much faster!
Just found you on “Trapping Inc” podcast. Good interview and great videos man
Thanks buddy!
