Those last three Lackawanna green (Stillwell) passenger cars with the thatched seats are precisely like the ones I used to ride on in the late 1950s! I am seventy-one years old, and my father worked for the Erie Railroad for forty-five years. He had a Pass, and we rode the trains for free. In 1960, the Erie and Lackawanna merged to form the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad! I remember my dad telling the family about it in our home. Every Sunday, we went to the Hoboken Passenger Terminal and took the train to Suffern, N.Y. We would then walk to the park and the baseball field and stop for lunch. Then, we would return to the train station and ride back to Hoboken. Our passenger train would stop in the rail yard, and another engine would hook up and push us into the station platform. We always exited the passenger car and walked back to see the engine before leaving the platform. The locomotive was always a black and yellow Alco RS (road switcher), which made our Sunday! thanks 🧑‍🎤 🏁 👩‍💼👩‍🎓👩‍⚖️

The RDC car was totally awesome

My special needs son loves trains 🚆🚂🚃🚄🚅🚇🚈🚉🚊🚝🚞🚋🛤 especially railcars like that one he thinks they are highly underrated rail transportation vehicles and all should be preserved, restored, and put back into service carrying both passengers and mail on lines that are not used anymore or at least don't get passenger service. He also thinks that Progress Rail, Siemens, or any other company that builds railroad equipment should build full size working replicas of RDC's and the departments of transportation should restore and rebuild railroad lines that were abandoned and/or removed and run these on them.

Nice vid, the blue speeder with the Christmas hat is based off the nittany and bald eagle RR paint scheme. based out of bellfonte pa NBER was founded August 1st 1984 under north shore railroad, they have interchanges in Lock haven pa and in Tyrone pa they both go to Norfolk southern. The event you were at was arranged by BHRS bellfonte historical railroad society (the rides with the open cars) 6:51

No, ex-Reading line toward Shamokin and Mount Carmel where it meets the Reading and Northern, another regional freight railroad that offers regular public excursions behind steam and diesel. These four rides though must have been a special one time thing, North Shore though operates various train rides every year, sometimes on ex-Reading and ex-PRR lines from Williamsport east and west. Some of the active line between Sunbury and Mt. Carmel is the ex-PRR line, with parts of the ex-Reading and ex-PRR ripped up.

Is this part of the old Nanticoke Branch of the Lackawanna, cut back to Bloomsberg at one time? I see three former DL&W MU high roof trailing cars in the consist, done up very nicely. Locomotives sporting EL colors.
