I was lucky enough to have some time after the conferences to go visit the Yeti Cycles headquarters in Golden and do their factory demo program. Oak Mountain MTB- A Dental Appointment 2024

A Dental Appointment at Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham, Alabama is a 31-mile course created with Trailforks and registered as a segment on Strava. I’ve started to create a version of A Dental Appointment at each of the trail systems I plan on riding at frequently so hopefully more riders take on the challenge to complete this course. The QR code and course information are found at the 0:24 m...
Oak Mountain State Park 20 Mile MTB Ride With Trail Information

This was my first ever visit to Oak Mountain State Park and it was amazing. The place is so big and the trail system is so complex and extensive that it is hard to find videos that aren't only of specific trails within the system. That's the reason why I'm posting this uncut, virtually unedited video in case you are planning a visit to OMSP and find it useful to see as much of as many trails as...
Mt. Zion MTB RC Trail Highlights on my Yeti SB140LR

This video contains highlights of the entire RC trail, which is labeled to be 9 miles long on the trailhead signs but my GPS has measured it at 10.98 miles several times so I assume trail sections have been added. The features and signage along the course are really well made and it is pretty much impossible to get lost out there. They have really done a good job at building and maintaining the...
Mt. Zion MTB Trail RC Full XC Lap on my Kona Hei Hei CR

This is a complete lap of the XC Race Course at Mt. Zion in Brookhaven, Mississippi. The lap was 10.98 miles and took 54:44 at a good, scrappy pace. Do take into consideration this was my first time at Mt. Zion so the time can drop a good bit if you learn the trail better. Temperature was 45° and sunny. Perfect day for a MTB ride! I must add that the dog that helped me with directions was an am...
Mt. Zion MTB Trail Guide Dog!

I've found out this dog belongs to the next door neighbor at the Mt. Zion MTB Trails. I have not found out her name but she was an incredible guide, especially considering she had never met me. She let me follow her where she wanted to guide me, she would yield in the sections she knew I'd be faster and she would cut switchback sections and wait for me at the end. One of the coolest things I've...

Last play ride session on my Trek Fuel EX- Ridgeland MTB trails

I would highly recommend this bike to anybody getting into mountain biking, or even for advanced riders wanting to stick to aluminum frames. Great vids. I'm going for my only second time this weekend. I've gotten a lot better at jumping now (then 3 years ago when i've last been to Oak Mtn). Which trails would you say are the best blue or black jump lines? (Lightning, Tails, any others?)

    • @Dr_Pappa
      @Dr_Pappa 5 місяців тому

      Man I'm sorry I'm just now getting back to you. You probably already went to OMSP by now. Glad you enjoyed the video! Yes, I would say your best bet is to session Lightning first. The jumps in that one are very well made and they are safe and forgiving. Once you do Lightning without any hesitation, then move on to Tails, which has a higher degree of difficulty and some less forgiving gaps or drops with rocks that you have to time well. Let me know how it went!

    Why did you switch back to a 250, what didn't you like about the 325? Thinking about doing a 300 kit soon and just looking for some personal anecdotes.

    • @Dr_Pappa
      @Dr_Pappa 2 роки тому

      Great question. I did not dislike the 325 at all. It was just way more power than I needed. It would get me exhausted because it was so powerful that it felt like it was trying to rip my arms off all the time. The other reason which is the actual reason why I switched back was because the customer service from the company that made my big bore kit was terrible and when it was time for me to do a top end I got frustrated with not being able to get in touch with them and having no support or information, so I went back to stock and I'm loving it. Apex head makes it so good. I wouldn't have another YZ without an Apex head.

      Ha! That's funny. I'm 5'9". I have a M frame. According to my height I should be on a M/L but according to my inseam I should be on a M.
