The opposing goalie was late to start, hence her player in net temporarily. Then, prior to the start of the 2nd period, the refs were told their goalie was hungover and about to faint/pass out. Their team was given 10 minutes to find another goalie, hence the lengthy delay. After 8 minutes, however, they still could not find a goalie. She said she was fine to resume playing, so we finally start...

Julie Chu is amazing.
Nice Gal. I'm only 5'7 so I have a soft spot for us shorter goalies. I notice you getting beat over the blocker shoulder alot (in this game). You have a super wide shooting stance. Ever consider bringing your hips up 4-6 inches so you can pop and get your shoulder on that? I know that's alot but u'r toes are sometimes covering half a foot beyond the 2 posts in the shooting arc. Great movement, wish I was that flexible.
Thanks for the feedback! I have definitely narrowed my stance in a bit cuz I realized I was so wide that I had no room or power to move laterally (shuffles or T-pushes) and I was much too low. I have a narrower stance now and I try to keep above the crease to cut the angle off. Also, the opposing team in this video didn’t belong in our tier (they got bumped up 2 levels) so I was definitely playing out of my league, but it also exposed what weaknesses I had.
@@thetinytendy that’s great. I coach young goalies but u are way too experienced for me to give too much advice too. You are right about the Uber wide stance though. You’re quick so I get away with it but standing a bit more upright and getting a good bite with your back leg will help with those high slot east west passes. Looking forward to your videos. They are fun to watch!
