30 Years of COMESA Impact
In 1994, a new vision was born on the African continent-a vision of unity, shared prosperity, and regional integration which was the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa, COMESA. For three decades, COMESA has been a driving force behind economic cooperation and development across 21 member states, from Tunisia in the north to Eswatini in the south."
COMESA was established as a successor to the Preferential Trade Area for Eastern and Southern African States, with a core mission: to promote economic integration through trade, investment, and the development of a large, viable economic zone. On December 8, 1994, COMESA was formally launched, ushering in a new era of collaboration among African nations."
Over the years, COMESA has been led by visionary leaders, each leaving their mark on the organization's growth and success including Professor Bingu Wamutharika, Dr. Erastus Mwencha, Mr. Sindiso Ngwenya and the current Secretary General Ms Chileshe Mpundu Kapwepwe.

It's high time guys you started learning English, French is not helping anyone
❤❤❤❤
Beautifully articulated
Greetings there is no sound
Why is Comesa letting in Russians, while those are staging a bloodthirsty invasion of Ukraine? It's immoral and wrong.
Great work we will love to work hand to hand with COMESA countries 👍
My concern is to do with business at Kasumbalesa Border Town. When is government lifting up the ban at Comesa. Since its closure life has been tough to us who have invested our business in that area. Honorable Minister kindly advise. We are suffering. Thank you.
Congratulations
Well done.
Powerful Program COMESA, we are looking forward to its implementations within Africa.
This is great and well done COMESA for this great program
Also, that song at 3:00 is kinda catchy, and Cassava fries are the best fries! Americans just don't know!
Glad to see the community having means to make a living, I hpe this type of thinking (Women only owned business) doesn't start gender/sex disputes in Africa, kinda like the west has. Kinda surprised to see "Women only" anything in that part of the world.
Formalization of Informal Small Scale Cross Border traders businesses requires new business models as an extension of the traditional model which should be jointly implemented between CBTAs and stakeholders in trade facilitation programmes. If CBTAs remain participants, formalization will take time to be achieved, but they must be drivers.

COMESA might be the largest pan-African market. To rip the benefits of such a large market, COMESA-members should set focus on a continental infrastructure (and technology) agenda: from Northern to Southern Africa, products and services must be delivered in a hassle-free fashion. The absence of adequate infrastructure and cutting-edge technology may jeopardize the potentials of a common market and thereby COMESA-countries' development.
Duh
Zimbabwe needs irrigation systems for farming in rural areas and tractors during the dry season
This is very good and it is very true
Good work Dr. musengele
I am personally glad by this development. In most rural areas, due to lack of people like (comesa) to come on board,Many youths drop out of school and engage themselves in early marriages which has been contributing to the under development of our country, Zambia and Africa at large. Most parts of our country, people receive good rainfall and all what we know is, maize farming, which is often done once in a year.My humble submission to whom it may concern, kindly consider extending empowerments of this kind to other parts of Zambia, especially in northern province.
wow this is encouraging. we are very delightful to see such developments in kanakantapa rural scheme. continue with the same spirit. thumbs up guys.
Special Representative O'Gray gives a very important speech on the roadmap taken by Ireland in it's climb to economic prosperity over the previous 60 years. A lesson which can be adopted and learned well by Zambia.
Great project very proud of you Ruth ... Africa women needs you ... you just simply great .. very touching n superb idea .. good luck
Congratulations COMESA! Keep growing stronger and stromger each year- Former COMESA Director of Gender
