      @@Dr_panda_nugget2 for the size of the bike it has a fair amount of weight at a little under 50bs. I think my real problem with the weight is when it comes to size and pedal potential. Heavyish bike stuck in a granny gear equates to extremely fast peddling with increased resistance and that ends up taking you at a pretty slow pace relative to a traditional bike. Read page 4 of the users manual. “The rider should not exceed 220 lb.” I am under 220lbs but this melted wiring connection implies bad engineering in the bike. Heat is created by electrical resistance running through the wires and clearly this is a choke point. If the bike had a proper controller to limit amperage going to the motor or adequate materials to handle that load this failure would have never happened even if the rider was 350 lbs. only leave civilized comments that add value on my videos.

    Can this cause the truck to crank and not start? There is a p0449 code on my truck and it randomly like to start and then when it turns off it will go back to only cranking?

    • @dougsshed6713
      @dougsshed6713 7 місяців тому

      If the fuel pressure is too low this can definitely cause a crank and no start situation. Low fuel pressure would typically be caused by a faulty pump or no power going to the pump (bad fuse or relay). Considering yours will start and then randomly shut off my money is on a bad fuel pump and not a fuse or relay. I’d check the pressure like how it’s described in this video and if it’s low get a new pump. As for the P0449 these trucks are notorious for that issue. Fuel often spills where the gas cap is and leaks down a tiny vent tube leading to a solenoid attached to a vapor canister causing it to break. The good news is that this is usually a super easy fix and under $50! was able to replace mine with just a flat head screwdriver in about 10 minutes without even getting a jack out. I doubt that solenoid would lead to a no start situation though. Part that fixed the P0449 for me shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/gm-genuine-parts-vapor-canister-vent-solenoid-214-2311/11680487-p?product_channel=local&store=6189&adtype=pla_with_promotion&product_channel=local&store_code=6189&&&&&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD05GhXqydkXjhFpLOGy52QixK2rV&gclid=EAIaIQobChMImoiVvsHZhAMVf2BHAR3ZIgAIEAQYASABEgK9QfD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

    No point in using mig on panels. Youre gonna grind down welds anyways. People are just snobs to feel better about spending too much on a fancy welder. If youre not welding hours a day you dont need a brand name welder. A welder under 700 will last you decades no problem

    • @dougsshed6713
      @dougsshed6713 10 місяців тому

      If I had a large enough garage or shop I’d love to use a mig machine with gas as they are less prone to burning through and it saves needing to clean each spot before putting a tack directly next to it. That said these flux machines certainly can get the job done and on a small budget!

    I did the exact same test my truck looses pressure in a few minutes it drops down to the 20s. Any idea if it’s my pump.? Or fuel pressure sensor ?

    • @dougsshed6713
      @dougsshed6713 10 місяців тому

      It should maintain pressure longer than a few minutes. I’m not an expert mechanic but to my understanding any loss of pressure that fast would be due to a breach of some sort. Maybe a tiny fuel leak (might not see it dripping) or leaking injectors. Try to smell around for fumes or ask someone around you if they can smell the fumes as your nose might become desensitized to them. An engine light with a rich or lean code could point to that some of these issues as well. The original fuel leak and fume area escaping from my truck is from the fuel pump due to corrosion. This is a common culprit on these trucks. I wasn’t able to see any puddles or dripping because it would evaporate on top of my tank. That’s what caused my pressure drop. After I replaced the pump unfortunately my lines started leaking because I disturbed them while they had heavy corrosion themselves. At this point I made the video and then I replaced the fuel lines. That’s where I’d start. Just reach on-top the tank and see if your fingers smell like gas after touching the fuel pump and lines. If that’s it then replace the pump. I’d recommend ordering new stainless braided flex fuel lines because there’s a good chance you’ll be leaking like me in this video after you replace the pump. Let me know! Sorry if I can’t be more help

I don't know if the thin silver "nut" on base of gear box where the cable goes on needs loosened or not to get the cable out of the gear box. How hard did you have to pull the end of the cable to get it out of the gear box assembly? Did you wiggle it a bit? Thanks for the input! I did not lubricate part. There seemed to be some sort light of lubricant already inside the assembly when I got the part. I’ve only went about 2 miles (maybe about 3.7km) so far as the weather has been a bit wet lately. If I were to have added a lubricant I would make sure it’s compatible with nylon as some oils/greases can break down plastic parts
