Garden Fun With Jane
Приєднався 2 січ 2021
I garden in Utah zone 6. I live right up against the gorgeous Wasatch mountains. I love where I live. Gorgeous views everywhere you look. And only minutes from the amazing mountains. I live in a desert climate. I have to learn to keep the moisture in the soil and to roots of my plants. I use rabbit poo and woodchips everywhere in my yard to help accomplish this goal. I have been gardening 20+ years but I am always learning new skills. I've recently fallen in love with cut flowers and bouquets. And I will always be obsessed with growing tomatoes and trying all the different flavors.
I love to garden! My husband and I have a big family. And I love animals. You will see both my family and animals in almost every video. Enjoy!
All things plants and seeds. Health and homesteading. Come and have fun with me.

regrow Hardy sedum! simple!
This is a really quick video to show you how to regrow hardy sedum. If you've used hardy sedum in a bouquet you can still regrow it by just sticking it into soil. It will grow roots! You can also just snap a piece off of the mother plant and regrow it that way too. ❤️ #sedum #hardysedum #flowersmakemehappy #growyourownflowers #gardening #garden #growmoreflowers #flowerarrangement

My whole family has not liked seeing me in so much pain-I haven't enjoyed it either. But because of Ethan's help I was able to still get into my gardens and I am able to have a harvest of flowers and veggies. In this video we're working in th...

deadheading- not just for roses.
Переглядів 412 місяці тому
Deadheading is not just for roses. You can deadhead most plants. Deadheading means to get rid of the spent bloom so the plant can spend energy in making more blooms. Clean up is similar to deadheading so you can let the next flowers have their time to shine. In this video I give you examples of how to know where to find seed heads and dead blooms. #flowersmakemehappy #growyourownflowers #garden...

I have never made hibiscus tea before ❤️
It’s beautiful. Prayers for your up coming surgery. 🙏🏻
Thank you so much. It is very hard to be patient- especially while I'm in pain
This video was the first one I had ever seen of yours. Are you doing this again this year?
@@gardenstatesowandsew I have to have a back surgery this year so I had to let go of my chickens but I will start again in the spring after I feel better but yes I'll do this again it's really fun
Hello Jane. 😊 Nice to meet you. I hope your back surgery helps. 🙏 Prayers for you. Have a blessed evening.
You are so kind thank you 💕
It’s Beautiful
Thank you so much it's so fun growing your own flowers and arranging them
@@gardenfunwithjane4897 It is. Mine aren’t as beautiful as yours. They still make me happy though 😀♥️
Everything is beautiful including the mountains. I love how all the kids help.
Thank you I love where I live My mountains are so majestic The kids have been a lot more helpful since I've had to use them because of my back injury
@@gardenfunwithjane4897 You’re welcome. I know about back injury. I hope you feel better soon ♥️
Hi Jane! New friend here and oh my goodness what a beautiful view!! And love the fall planting! 😊💗
Hi I love my mountain view in Utah thanks for following along I like fall is the best time to plant
I think Ethan is really starting to love this!
Yes he tells me that he loves to garden with me hopefully he keeps that love and perhaps if I didn't have an injury I wouldn't let him help me so much I don't know trying to see the positive
What a beautiful lake !!!!! Really enjoyed seeing that
Yes I love where I live ❤️ can you believe that is just in my back yard literally I don't get in the mountains enough they are spectacular mountain 🏔️🌄
Beautiful!
Thank you. I love these colors together ❤️ and I'm super proud I grew everything in this bouquet in my own yard. ❤️
Very pretty bouquet!!!
Thank you so much I want to get more of the deep dark Dahlia colors they're so pretty
Incredible, Jane! I want to come sit in your garden and paint.
You're so talented! I have one park bench but I keep asking Rob for more. you are welcome ❤️
Awww what a fun video. Love seeing the kiddies all helping out. Your daughter's adorable and great with the camera. Sorry your back is still so painful, hope you get it sorted soon.
She is so fun and spunky! Thank you it's hard to be patient when you have an injury and you can't do what you want to do thanks for your support
they look great, I managed a wonderful few plants this season myself, I have and will be saving more seeds from these pods for sure. My question is if I leave the plants to wither in the spot I have them in will the seeds produce plants next year. I noticed this year, pots that I had Marigolds in last year and some ground spots produced marigolds this season that I had not planted? So I am thinking of chancing it? I live in zone 5b central Ontario Canada and this past winter was not as normally severe? So I am wondering if that might be the reason they grew this time. What are your thoughts. Thanks.
Yes many plants reseed and come back. I'm really getting into "cool flowers" this year. If you haven't heard about it research it -it's pretty awesome. Also just sprinkling seed down in the fall works. The last two years I've really used winter sowing for perennials. But I was so impressed on how well it did for my annuals also. ❤️
The mahogany splendor hibiscus is a great stem to put into rooting hormone and put into soil to over winter for next years garden. I have four cuttings rooted for next year.
Thank you so much for teaching me how to get mahogany splendor hibiscus to root I've been trying for a while and the trick was the soil not the water so before the season's over I need to go take some more cuttings
Hey Jane I'm collecting flower seeds from my garden to winter sow this year. My third year winter sowing and im hooked 😊
I love saving seeds it makes them more adapted to your area too Winter sowing has really helped me get through the winter blues. And it's cheaper than buying plants
@@gardenfunwithjane4897 I'm addicted to saving seeds from my gardens and have a refrigerator in my basement to keep all my seeds in along with drinks lol
I really need to get myself a Ethan. I have started to collect seeds and mahogany splendor hibiscus cuttings because we are getting really cold nights here in NY.
He is wonderful. We've only gotten down to 50 so far thank goodness but I'm going to start thinking about cutting soon too I hate winter
spectacular❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks ❤️
Are you kidding me only 4 days😹😹
How often do you change the water?
Jane, lots of help there! When are you having surgery? I can't believe they haven't done it yet!
I know right! With any type of surgery or health issues it always takes forever ugh
I'm still learning with my fruit trees too
I'm always learning more about gardening everyday. I'm really excited to learn more about fruit trees and different varieties and the fruit trees that work for my climate
Thanks, Jane !
Glad you like it! Thanks for your support ❤️
I just love hummingbirds 😊
Yes they are wonderful ❤️
Do you collect your own seeds?
Yes I collect quite a bit of my own seeds I also love to trade online in different Facebook groups it's so fun to try different flowers and veggies etc
I'm so glad you got a lot of peaches this year! Our peach trees all produced, but they just stayed green and small and the sun got to them all. It was a weird year for our fruit trees.
Oh wow. Sorry. Hope you get a better harvest next year. Every year something succeeds and something fails. right!?!
Yeah !!!
Thank you! It is exciting. I really hope my donut trees produce in the next couple years
What a wonderful harvest ❤️
Thank you so much this is only 1/4 of my tiny tree and I have another one ripening right now I feel like I need a forest full I might not when they get bigger lol
There is always next year to reuse your areas that you didn't get to this year , you could put in some garlic in those this fall
Great idea! Yes I know it's just hard when you can't do what you want to do but I know my health is important
I think you all did a great job!!
Thank you. I need all the help I can get right now ❤️❤️
nice
Thanks so much! Love you bro ❤️
It's so beautiful!
Thank you. daylilies love the hot hot weather.
Very nice sunflowers, I tried to grow some this year and failed miserably
Yes me too until I no transplant winter sowed it. Give it a try next season. They are cute and full and round. ❤️
I'm so sorry about you having to have surgery, but hopefully it brings you relief and you can get out in your garden again! Hugs!
Thanks so much. I miss doing normal things like going on a walk with my dogs and family.
Im so sorry, jane. I wish you the best on the surgery.
Thank you so much
Aww I'm so sorry! Hopefully it goes well & you'll be wondering why you didn't do it sooner ❤ I'm in a similar boat so I get it!!
We are playing the waiting game to get an appointment. I'm so sick of this nerve pain. Thanks so much for your support. I hope you find answers too ❤️
I'd love some.
I don't have enough increases to sell but my friend Carol Hansen from bargain basement auction and sale Facebook group might
@gardenfunwithjane4897 thank you!
I’m in love with that iris yes please I would love to buy one
Ask Carol Hansen on Facebook group bargain basement flower auction and sales and see if she has any left ❤️
Genius!!! Naturally my mind said but how will she get one off if she wants one in the middle! Lol even though I very well knew they were all exactly the same. Guess it was the kid in me coming out 😂
Hahahaha my sister does this and I thought she was so smart too 🤓 ❤️
🤩🤩 How much time is needed for rooting?
These rooted about 3 weeks you need to clean out the water every couple days and add fresh water
@@gardenfunwithjane4897 thank you! 🙂
I'm trying to garden with bad knees so I understand doing small sections at a time. Your roses are so beautiful!! Mine have been eaten up by the Japanese beetles again this year even after spraying them .
Sorry about your knees thanks for your support. Gardening is such therapy even if our bodies are falling apart. I've been raising beds higher. My family helps a lot.
I got seeds from my South African family. Growing them here in Brittany France 🇫🇷. I will pickle my.
That's great!
Everything looks beautiful, you are doing the best you can! Prayers that your back heals soon!
Thank you for your sweet words ❤️
You have the most beautiful roses.
Thank you flowers bring me so much joy ❤️
Mine is a mess too, cuz my back limits what I can do, but yours looks so beautiful! I totally get the finding beauty where you can find it. For me it's ignoring the bindweed while admiring my coneflowers 😅
Yes! Look for the positive. And our sunsets have been glorious recently. Back pain is the worst. Hope you find relief too ❤️
It's nice to have a good garden helper. You have a beautiful garden!
Thank you I have several helpers. They change everyday on who wants to help me in the garden. I hope they enjoy gardening. ❤️
Love THIS ❤️ bob in cincinnati
Thank you. I love my flowers ❤️
Wooow very nice,❤️❤️❤️
I know! Right? It was so cool I want to plant white next to it for contrast next season ❤️
❤ darkest I've ever seen too!!
Me too! I love it. Next season I need to plant a white next to the dark for amazing contrast.

Great job on those the purple rose really made them pop , i really loved the first one you made for yourself that was absolutely gorgeous !!!!!!
Thank you I really enjoy making bouquets from my own flowers. It's such a joy. And I love art and how colors and textures go together in an arrangement ❤️
