Thanks for taking your time to do this video, I bought a new CB1000R Black Ed myself a few months ago and really enjoy watching NEW content about the bike! God bless!
Thanks for the support! It's nice to see more folks out there with the same bike!
Thanks for taking your time to this video, as a CB1000 Black Ed owner myself I really appreciate people producing new content pertaining to the bike. I look forward to your next video (s) God bless, and ride safely!
How do you like your bike? I presume it’s the same unless you’re over in the UK then there is some extra tech uploaded to the LCD screen (Bluetooth phone pairing) that the US models don’t have.
Maybe change the front bracket to 16 or 17 tooth and will drop those RPM’s a bit
yeah I could've done that if I still had that bike. Lots of things have changed and I'm now riding a 24' Honda CB1000r! :) Thank for watching the channel!
What bike are u riding now?
I'm now on a 2024 CB1000r :)
Lol the seat Honda still makes bad seats ehh? It’s like their trademark.
I feel like when getting a 500 Italian anything else you gonna want . More power after a couple months now what I do like its pretty safe beginning bike
I did this with the exact same lever kit. When I reattached the cable to the clutch, I noticed that the clutch arm didn't return all the way to its natural resting place (clutch is closed position). Is that normal?
Im in Europe and we have a limit on the age and license. So i gotta get a A2 class license and bike and the CBR500R fits it. I finally decided i want a bike seriously. Alot of people said just buy a Honda cbr. They are reliable and you wont be at first an agresive rider so just get a honda and have a care free life. Thanks for the review man.
While watching this... I realized where you were. Lol.. 209👊
yep! Guess where I'm at now from my most recent video ;)
Thanks mate, was really helpful. Clear, easy instruction.
I know this is an old video but the lighting is very low. I could not get a detail close up of how you did this.
Lol, i bought those same exact shorty levers
Thanks a lot for the video, very helpful and I'm gonna get right on this. Lovely dog.
wow he used that song
Delkevic is legal ?? homologation ??
Guys I'm 5'9" and bought the 14' CBR500R. I'm 190lbs (mostly muscular) and it's a great fit. The power band is amazing, and it's a very forgiving bike. Good overall.
ok
Hey man, how have the levers held up? I read some reviews that said the colors faded over time.
No one has asked the most important question... Does it GO any better?
Hey mate, where did you get your front indicators from???
i cant get the bolt threw!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Having this same problem now. Can't find a solution. Old comment, but how did you do it?
@@Deezy-wt9kg honestly I don’t even remember watching this video it was 7 years ago lol. I’m guessing it was for my first girl cbr300r when I installed those levers. I remember it was a bitch but I got them installed
I have a 2016 cb500f and I installed the clutch leaver but it seemed to feel loose fit idk didn't feel like the cable itself wasn't able to pull the clutch leaver back enough..do I have to tighten the clutch cable tighter ?or that just how it is with after market parts?
did you you get it to work?
Bro we have the same bike except mine red. Same pipe and shift leavers !
what exhaust is that???
Any chance you remember where you got your "everyday life" decal?
hey man. Was just wondering if your levers were a tad loose even after tightening everything up. mine are cheap chinese made so it could just be the quality of the product
I'm for sure getting the delkevic after hearing yours, thanks a lot
Hi there Mr.Cbr, I have a question about my Cbr. I recently bought this bike and it has an after market clutch lever, and an after market clutch lever perch mount. My question is if you know where I can get a stock clutch lever perch mount for a 2013 Honda cbr 600rr? If you know if you could get back to me that would be very helpful. Or if you have no idea what I'm talking about if you could message me back that would be helpful as well.
Thanks mate. Did the job in 10 mins. Knowing to disconnect the clutch was a great tip as I did not even touch the cogs near the clutch lever.
Brilliant help thanks mate. I didn't even know where the clutch cable connected let alone that I should disconnect it. Turned a potentially frustrating DIY into not even five minutes work.
What's the exhaust you got ?
I am 6 foot 4 inches tall and weigh 170punds. Is this worth looking into?
+Mr CBR I have the same bike same year and the same exhaust but carbon fiber and I got to say it is amazing sounding much better than I thought it would be
No pulls?
damn bikes in us are cheap in my country it will cost 7000$
Great review! But, I have to disagree with your remarks at 4:45. Personally, I find the CBR500R to be perfectly comfortable on the freeway, and I'm usually cruising at 70 MPH or greater. Sure, the engine is working harder at these speeds, but that's the nature of the beast. I did a little Googling, and on a motorcycle forum I stumbled across, the owner of a 2008 CBR1000RR stated that at 75 MPH, his bike was turning at 6,000 RPM, a pretty frenetic pace. These are motorcycles, so unless you're on a low-revving V-twin, your engine is going to be turning at higher RPMs than you're used to in a car. To sum it up, riders coming to this bike from a 250 or 300 (and I suspect many 500 buyers are in fact upgrading from smaller machines) will be pleasantly surprised. Those machines are perfectly capable on the freeway, so when those riders step up to the bigger, heavier, and more powerful 500, I think they're going to be in for a treat.
Totally agree.
Not disagreeing but for perspective a 600 redlines at 15k and the 1000RR is redlining at 13k. For them running at 6k is tickling the power band. We don't get near redline in 6th gear until the top end is being chased.
dailying a CBR250R (1st bike), highway riding every day, it does great for a 250. Can imagine the jump to this 500R would be so much better.
yes most definitely if you want to upgrade from a 250 to a 500 you're doubling your displacement so you'll definitely enjoy that upgrade. thanks for watching :)
dat muffler?
how many cylinder is that bike?
2
What turn signal do you use? Thank
I dont know whether to buy this or a yamaha r3 For my first bike? Im drifting more to the yamaha r3 for the looks and weight but the honda as you said has more power and also thicker wheels but its heavier and less nimble really really stuck! Good vid btw:)
The 500 isn't that much heavier than the r3 but it has a lot more power and torque. It's a fun bike man if say get the 500 because I'm already looking to jump to the 600 cc class and I haven't even had the bike for a full year yet lol
+Mr CBR sweet bro thanks:) and lol yeah power is the main thing that bores people with their bikes after a while haha, safe riding pal!
500r if you're planning to keep it for awhile. r3 if you're gonna upgrade to a 600+cc in a year or 2. I found the 500 to be quite nimble, enough to keep me happy on the street.
+xPockyness cheers for that, i was thinking of kerping my first bike for only 2 years then upgrading it to a 600 when i pass my full bike license so in that case ill probably go for the r3 & how long you planing on keeping your honda?
At minimum I'd probably have it for 5-6years before i plan to upgrade (financial reasons). but personally If i was in your situation i'd go with the r3 as well. There are people that hate on smaller bikes, but if you really love riding you'll enjoy any bike even if its a 125cc. Remember to ride smart, and the street isn't a track so don't pretend its one.
Hello, I just got my motorcycle license (limited to 35kW due to my age) and am interested in the cbr500r. So your length is good for this bike, even with the long rides? I'm 1.90m and searching for a decent bike which wont kill my back.
Yeah it's a great bike, I'm 6ft 5inches tall and I've taken this bike to LA which is about a 5 hour ride for me and I only had to stop twice to stretch. You're hands will fall asleep on long rides and your butt will fall asleep but you sacrifice that comfort when getting a sport bike
just rode my friend's 500 two minutes ago and was surprised at how much torque and power it had. The thing is not built for top speed but it will get to its top speed really fast. Great for beginners who want a little more than a 250. - my first bike was a yamaha fz6r
I’m deciding between this bike and an fz6r what would you suggest?
So this is your first bike?? Is it good for starters?
Yes this is my first bike, and yes I feel this bike is a great starter bike :)
Great bike man, I'm looking to get either this bike or an r3 by next summer.. Keep the vids coming
Thank you for your support!
Mr CBR Anytime Man, Check out my vids Thumbs Up!
To protect my ears when I'm riding (& always wearing a full-face helmet) I have to wear ear protection, so I don't actually hear much exhaust noise when I have my bike out on the road. Re: this Honda CBR500R, I love it, it's easily fast enough for me, and have not altered the exhaust. I ride carefully. A 4-cylinder 600cc would be way over the top for me, and the speed limit where I live is a max of 70mph on motorways anyway.
Is your exhaust loud with the bike?
It's not too loud, just enough to put a smile on my face when I open up the throttle lol
My clutch is fine, I had no issues after install. I'd check your clutch cable adjusting bolts
How tight is your clutch cable set up mine was acting different when I installed the levers and it was hard to get to neutral I tried playing around with it but can't seem to find a sweet spot?
Sounds really good man, I'm looking at getting a 2014 CBR500R for my first bike, it has a full Yoshimura exhaust system and sounds mean as!
Yeah yoshimura is a great exhaust! I just didn't wanna pay the money for it which I why I went with my current setup. You're gonna have a blast on your 500!
Mr CBR Yeah, I just noticed that they are the most expensive system, thanks mate, I'm so excited! Picking it up on Saturday, cannot wait!
I read a review recently on the CB500X that even at 80mph when the revs are sky high the bike is still under stressed and returns over 50mpg. It's a Honda it can do redline all day. I'm thinking about one of these (2015 silver looks so good) or an R3.
Yeah I normally cruise at 70 and keep the tac right at 6k. But that's just me
Nice bike, i have to choose between the cbr and the ninja 300...and maybe the r3
Thank you! All those bike really comes down to looks, which one looks better to you. They are equally as fast and probably have a couple things specific to the controls that will differ between bikes. But the 300 class is a great starter bike!
Mr CBR Also the 500 has a lot more torque at lower rpms.I prefer the look of the ninja but the engine on the honda is tempting...and the honda is an honda! I have to try them XD
