Great lecture! I would love to have you discuss Latin American printmakers, especially those of the late 19th to early 20th century (for example, Jose Guadalupe Posada and Manuel Manilla).
Such an honor to do this talk with you Cindi!!!
We are thrilled and sincerely hope to invite you in person for an engagement. Thank you again.

RIP Joe Bottari One of Joe's many talents were repairs on vehicles and motorcycles no one could figure out... Joe got Old Penelope up running and had to fabricate fittings and welded as they no longer made parts for this old beauty Joe got it done! worked 26 hrs straight right up until they picked her up for her journey to the museum... Kudos to Joseph Bottari God Rest ur soul
That is the most beautiful finish I have ever seen. The turning machine seen is awesome. Can you tell a fellow turner what you are using?

This was a beautiful lecture and I wish I had you as a professor for art history.
NO comments?? Well i'll be.... in love with Rubens' art FOREVER!!
26:38 Corrections: Alois Senefelder didn't die a poor man and it was not before the time of the patent. The value of the new cheap and exact reproduction process was recognized early by land surveying offices across Europe. Senefelder was appointed in 1809 to be the Inspector of a new Institution set up for this purpose in Bavaria called the "Lithographic Institute" (Lithographische Anstalt) in Munich. Similar Institutions were subsequently set up under his supervision in Berlin, Paris, London, and Vienna. He secured patent rights across Europe and publicized his findings in 1818 in Vollstandiges Lehrbuch der Steindruckerei which was translated in 1819 into French and English. A Complete Course of Lithography combined Senefelder's history of his own invention with a practical guide to lithography and remained in print as recently as 1977. I had the pleasure of meeting this family over 20 years ago at Gumps in San Francisco. They are amazing.
What a boring topic.
it isn't-
Amazing! ❤️
Eu adorei essa forma de tornear e dá o acabamento final na peça, gostaria de saber se existe mais videos? ... parabens pelo lindo trabalho um forte abraço .
The presentation is as impressive as the piece. In my part of the world we call it a wood turned bowl, rather than sculpture.
Claude Mellan made more than 400 engravings in its life as well as a lot of painting and other things than great circular engraving. I really enjoy this video, but as a professor, I hope you chose fact before sensationalist interpretation of an engraver or artist (wich both in this time weren't seen as artist). Anyway, engraving is so underated that perhaps its okay to do this to make them more fascinating to people that do not understand how much its a delight for drawing lover. Lets protect all the forgotten old prints!
I noticed this also and came here to see if anyone had commented yet - the information about Senefelder was also completely incorrect (he didn't die penniless and he secured patent rights across Europe - this is the complete opposite of what the speaker presented). It's unfortunate and misleading to present all of this as fact when the opposite is actually true. If this museum really values education they should edit the video description with the true, factual, information.
