Put the ds1 in front of the bd2 instead for more of a fuzz tone
i feel like the point of the song is to accentuate the voice that is saying these things. I don't necessarily disagree with your choices but the guitar solo drowns out the purpose. It should be the backdrop building the lyrical narrative. Her voice should be your focus, not your enemy.
That Marshall crunch always makes my d*ck hard. Throw a tube screamer on and I’m screaming like Lexington Steele vs. 2 white women
Makes me want to buy a pick up truck😅
@@Abzy_FNG As a fan of pickup trucks, I approve. 😁
I’m proud to say I’m the current owner of the white Baretta having just bought it from The Rocktor himself!!! Yeah it sucks that they drilled two extra holes in it but I installed a proper stereo jack for the EMG in the original location. Kept the tone control and put a sticker over the third hole- looks fantastic and is the best playing guitar I have. Best part- I brought her back home to Neptune!
Awesome I just got the same color and the same ear and boy does it sound and play good and it is in great condition. Wow!
@@DanielAlvarez-sl6yh Nice! Congrats on snagging one of these up! I feel like these are becoming more rare and harder to find, especially in great condition like yours. The early 90s truly seem like a golden era for Les Paul studios. Ebony boards, nice rounded neck profiles and classy looks. It’s hard to beat. Trogly just did a video of the latest 2024 Les Paul Studio release and made a point to mention how great the early 90s ones are.
I have an '83 Les Paul Custom in tobacco sunburst. It's a Lefty. It almost looks like it just left the factory. It's in dire need of a proper setup however. Over the years many people have played it, all the more amazing that it looks the way it does.
@@kencreppin2146 That’s awesome! Tobacco sunburst is one of my favorite finishes! I think those early 80s Les Pauls had the Tim Shaw pickups too which are pretty rare these days.
Linking Park, seriously? Even on standard tuning you can play Metal with a Tele. Compressor, overdrive, distortion, enjoy.
@@domvalhalla7771 Sorry, don’t know who Linking Park is lol. And everyone knows you can technically play any genre on any guitar but some are better suited than others in specific genres. That’s why traditional teles are not as common in metal as humbucker guitars with higher output hotter pickups. The point was to show you can still get great metal tones on teles even though that’s not what they are traditionally known for. In a way I was demonstrating exactly what you’re saying.
Wait he actually did it…!
Seems like I took Nike’s motto to heart lol
So amazing bro Can you upload full song please?
Crazy great and versatile guitar
Thanks man! Indeed!
And that's why I have an 8 string 2 7s and 7 6s all RGs
Wow! Nice collection! This is my only RG but I’m sold. Such amazing quality and versatile instruments and at a great price too.
Should change the name to Leakin Pads.
Nice try you do know the Mike shanoda started another band while they where on a short break it failed then he went back to LP the new singer sucks her voice is average at best. Don't like her didn't really like her in her old band either. They did it on purpose pussy points. That's it dude so nope.
Didn't she get in trouble for sexual assaulting a man while he was passed out? Being that Chester was a sexual assault survivor I really don't think it's appropriate for her to be the new lead singer. It's crazy and gross to me the guys would overlook something like that. Hopefully I'm wrong but that's what I heard.
@@plainswalker89 I did not know that to be honest. If that’s true, I agree she is a poor choice and that shouldn’t be overlooked. I do hope it’s a rumor and nothing more. I respect if someone does not like her specifically and would prefer someone else to sing for the band. However, I didn’t like that Linkin Park got hate for choosing any new singer and continuing with the Linkin Park name.
Just need to lower your expectations is all~ nothing wrong with that cause its a huge void to fill
@@3akr3 Well said! Chester was a legend. I don’t think it’s fair to expect anyone to truly fill his shoes. However, the new singer can certainly bring her own sound and as long as the new music as a whole is good, I’m happy. I see this era as something separate from old Linkin Park.
i honestly dont know what to think about i dont think they are trying to replace chester i just think its different and it will take a while to get used to it
@@That_one_guy8764 I agree. I liked their new song a lot. Though not sure how I feel about them playing older songs Chester sang. Either way, you’re absolutely right. They clearly got someone very different from Chester which seems like they’re not trying to copy or replace him. They’re just moving on to a new era and we’ll see in time how we like it. Personally I’m hopeful for their future as a band. Though I found out their drummer left and their guitarist will be involved in the studio but not tour with them live.
Whew!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks brother! Excited to do more songs with this. 😁
big difference. the JR has far more snarl. however, although you left the tone and volume controls wide-open on both, you didn't control for the resistance values of the pots, which will affect the tone and of course, as you mentioned, two different slabs of wood.
Your about 10-15 yrs to old to match that punk metal speed output needed to pull that off.
@@JMTrucking1417 You can tell me I’m playing it too slow, it’s possible I am since I played without a backing track or metronome (though idk how you could definitively determine that without a metronome to compare side by side) but age has literally nothing to do with speed…that’s just nonsensical. James Hetfield isn’t young but he’s got plenty of metal speed output.
Wrong. Close though.
Thanks, I listened to another cover and could prob improve on it. I learned this on request from a follower but only had about half hour to learn it so did my own take on it I suppose. :)
@@rocktorrocks you missed a couple of chords in one part and seriously need to speed up your down picking. Especially if you're trying to cover the Metallica version....
Nice cover! Is that top from their tour with motley crue by any chance?
@@kabal6331 Thanks! Good eye! Yup, I got to see them with Motley Crue in Boston. It was one of the last shows before Mick retired from touring so I was glad I got to see them.
Excellent!!!
Thanks brother! From the old tiktok days haha.
Love Maneskin! 🔥🔥🔥 They have some killer riffs. Supermodel is prob a fave.
@@salferreira7994 Thanks man! I’ll have to give that a listen! I didn’t know a lot of their stuff but was impressed by this. Some cool guitar stuff in their songs.
Typical marshall crunch sound love it
@@LOVENISH10 Indeed! One of my favorite sounds.
Nice 😊
@@up_and_comeing_music_artist Thanks! 🤘😁
I have been jonesing for a black custom from the late 70s for several years- when you say thin necked, is that thin by standards of average modern Cs or thin just vs an average LP neck?
Amazing guitar! Thanks for the review.
@@fedir_sh My pleasure! Really glad you liked it and appreciate you watching. Cheers! 🤘
Nice Job..'Led Zeppelin is our Drug and Jimmy Page is our Dealer '
Thanks! Indeed! It’s a lifelong addiction. 😎
@@rocktorrocks Good to see you using the middle position on pickup selector.. Most get it wrong and use the Bridge pickup...At Madison Square in 1973, Rock and Roll has a different tonal balance to Celebration Day . R&R= middle... Celebration Day= Bridge pickup.
I must say, I'm thoroughly impressed. Bravo!😝😝
Thanks so much! Glad you liked it!
!! Good job my friend, have a nice day and keep it up :D !!
Thank you so much! Appreciate the kind words and support as always. Cheers!
Why is Geddy Lee tagged? He plays bass, Alex plays guitar 🎸
@@dantonio1 Bass is a guitar. 😉 J/k I tried tagging Alex too but no tags popped up for him.
I have an Epiphone and I love it… but I can’t deny that if some say I afford one Gibson haha I would have it
@@pompei.musicteacher Haha well said man! If I given the option, I think most of us would choose a Gibson. However, I still adore my Epiphones and truly enjoy them. Your Epiphone sounds amazing in your videos.
Lots of makes coming out w upgraded models. Love it!
Indeed! I got to try the player II strat the other day and man it was tempting to bring it home haha. Lots of Fender excitement!
I have a 71 black Custom. Bought it used in 81 for $450. Someone before me beat the crap out of it but it played and sounded amazing. minimum wage was $2.85 an hour and I quit in the middle of a shift when I knew I had enough cash for the last layaway payment..
Wow! The early 70s ones seem even more rare these days. Glad to hear it’s still with you after all these years. Always more valuable when you put the hours and work in to get the guitar too.
The SG rips! Tighter sound my opinion
What do you feel about both the necks thickness/profile wise? Are they closer to strat or ibanez wizard? Thanks
I have an epi 60s les paul tribute plus and its as good as or better than my gibson les paul standard
I have a 1992 with the ebony finish. Ebony board, gold hardware and gold knobs. Every other one I’ve seen has black knobs. I bought mine new. Still have it. Not a mark on it.
I got the '91 Studio. I got Slash to autograph on it when I promoted his concert back in 2010. Been thinking of replacing the pickups with the 57 Classic for a sweeter tone.
@@hushpuppykl Nice! And what a cool memory with Slash! If it’s easy to swap back, might be worth trying out the 57 classics. I feel like Gibson doesn’t make a lot of guitars with the 57 classics these days so it’s nice to see them get used.
@@rocktorrocks … Slash is not the same off stage, he’s pleasant and soft spoken. No cussing even. 🤣😂
Fender shirt, Gibson guitar, Marshall amp…Im sending you an Ibanez hat asap!!!!
Haha good call man, I should totally sport one. I just got a Marshall guitar stool to sit & play on. 😅
dog ear is warmer. the soapbar brighter. both nice. i think i like the dogear. if i get one i might have to make a shim out of a piece of veneer to raise it up a tad.
@@yellowcat1310 I think I usually prefer warmer pickups too. Thanks for watching!
Led Zeppelin is the greatest rock n roll band period all time
For sure! I had all their albums growing up when I was learning to play. The variety of musical styles, emotion, and skill level that not just one but all four members could produce was truly something special. Jimmy Page was a huge influence for me as a guitarist too.
That ain't that gold top buddy, that's you my man!
Wow! Thanks so much! Truly appreciate the kind words. Happy I could do such an awesome riff justice. Cheers! 🤘
hey! do you have any tips when practicing this solo? also i slowed down the video and it kinda sounds like you were playing extra notes that weren't in the tab. Thanks!
Hey! Apologies for the late reply. Can I ask which time in the video you saw the extra note? I can double check. Best advice I have is to break down the solo into very small sections and learn it that way. If one part is difficult, break it down into an even smaller part and go from there. Hope that helps!
Great video.. In your opinion, these 90s Studio with ebony fingerboard practically have the same sound and timbres as the custom Les Paul but without the finish and body not as thick as the custom ones!? .. Generally the standard and custom ones have a slightly thicker body than the Studio ones but they weigh almost the same or the same..
Thanks so much! Glad you liked the video. Yup! Since the Les Paul studio has the 498T/490R pickups which are the very same pickups in current Les Paul Customs I feel they are tonally similar. The ebony fretboard further adds to the Les Paul Custom feel and aesthetics. Though there are still differences like the body being slightly thinner I feel like they’re quite similar. In terms of woods, rumor on forums I’ve read mentioned the early 90s models had maple necks much like the 70s Norlin Les Paul Customs too though this isn’t something I’ve officially seen confirmed.
@@rocktorrocks ... my '91 definitely has a mahogany neck. A bit of the paint got worn from hanging it up.
Just got this one from GC a beast of a guitar🎉🎉🎉
Congrats and happy new guitar day! I couldn’t agree more! 😎
Dude... this old Epiphone is so far from what Epiphone is offering now...
Not really. Most of the details and specs I went over apply to all the recent models just the same and the few differences (e.g. CTS pots on current Epiphones & IBG CS models having one piece necks & Gibson pickups) I made a point to mention. If you noticed any incorrect specs or something I got wrong in the video certainly let me know. I also intentionally kept many of the comparisons more generalized since specs vary not just by year but also by model. This way what I went over should apply to most Epiphones over multiple years.
Thank you for your GREAT PERFORMANCE as always bro❗❗😍😍
Happy to share! Appreciate your kind words as always and thank you for checking it out. You’ve been a great support from the start. 😎
