Turkey's Most Sacred City

Located in South-Eastern Turkey, Şanlıurfa claims to be the Birthplace of the Prophet Abraham, & the most Devoutly-Muslim city in the Country. I check out the Old City Streets, the Bustling Bazaar, the Balıklıgöl, the Urfa Castle, enjoy a Kebab with a Spooky Mascot...

Stealth Camping in Earthquake-Devastated Antioch
Переглядів 29228 днів тому
On February 6th, 2023, South-Eastern Turkey was hit by a pair of Massive Earthquakes. Fairing the Worst was the city of Antakya, Anciently known as Antioch. After a year, the city is still in Shambles, slowly picking up the pieces. The once-thriving city centre lies in Complete Ruins & is eerily quiet. I spend the night atop the shell of a Damaged Building, waking to a truly Post-Apocalyptic la...

Way Overpriced & Swarming with a Ridiculous number of Tour Groups, most of the Cave features are Locked & Fenced-Off. What a fantastic adventure! I miss traveling around and finding relatively obscure remnants of the distant times. I'm old now, and although my adventure days are over, I can't easily describe how this lifts my heart!
@gnostellax6655 That's wonderful to hear! I'm glad to be able to share my travels
Cheers Tim. I wished I had gone with you.

I've watched 2-3 of your vlogs in the past week. Instead of visiting cliché tourist spots like most travel videos, you take a more sociological, even anthropological approach. Trying to understand people's way of life and how they have evolved over time is exactly the kind of quality content I’ve been looking for. Thank you!
@AlperTunga1907 that's a great comment, thanks! I always try to learn about the history & culture of the places I visit!
Beautiful pools
Really beautiful video. Sanliurfa is truly stunning and full of history. How come you're so interested in places like this?
@MacanAbi I was here for Gobeklitepe mainly, because I am very interested in Ancient History.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 love you video
Thank you for what you do! I love getting to explore with you and i always look forward to your videos! I cant wait to see what you find next.
What a nice place! You really show interesting ancient places on your channel. I love the combination of that with stealthcamping! I did a shoutout in my upcoming video of this weekend, because you have a great channel and deserve all the support!
@@oldirtybeuner Thanks so much! I look forward to seeing it

there's drugs in the handbags you knoiw
Absolutely stunning to see a site so ancient - thanks for sharing! It's also reassuring to see Turkish families and school groups visiting the site.
Hungry now ❤
I really enjoy watching all of your traveling videos! I'm curious, what are you using for your gimbal? I'm recently getting into wanting to do these sort of camping videos and picked up the DJI Osmo Mobile 6 Gimbal. It seems pretty clear from your videos that you're using one, just curious what you're using and how happy you are with it? :) Thanks!
@KrisVenden I have the same Gimbal, but the version 5. I used it here & there, but only with my phone. Most shots I use my GoPro which is hand-held using a bite-mount. The GoPro usually takes out all the bumps with its native stabilization, & the bite-mount allows a seemless transition between hand-held & hands-free filming. Good luck with your videos!
@@TimBurbank237 Awesome! Thanks for the response and for the joy of your videos! You've truly gone some neat and crazy places!
Does Urfa Man bear a resemblance to Beast Jesus or is it just me?

Gobekli Tepe looks awesome 👌. Definitely on the bucket list, interesting watch 🤙
Excellent spot to spend the day and night.
Liam Richards, Kailasa Temple. A video you may find interesting. Liam is Australian too.
18:28 from all your videos I've seen, it's the 1st time that you reacted like that: kicked in a delayed flavour response 😂 it must be truly special. Thanks for sharing
Wow😊
i've been there, it's a culinary heaven, i still get my mouth wet thinking about the place. oh my fucking god how amazing the food was
Not adding any music while showing the scenery is such a perfect unintentional asmr which is why I really enjoyed the video. I hope ur having good time while travelling around the Turkiye.
@Kaan-wy3ec Thanks, I'd always rather use the ambient audio, a much more immersive experience!
As a 25 years old Turkish man i've never been to Gaziantep before. You're lucky :)
Dude, I liked your video. If you want to see Mersin, you can reach me anytime so we can show you around and eat great food. But I think one of the best cities in Turkey where you can eat the most delicious food is Gaziantep and Hatay.
You mean Kurdish cuisine.
Gaziantep is a Turkish city. Read some before making idiotic comments
@ - Don’t worry, Kaaner, when Ocalan is released you will soon see where Kurdistan is.
calm down everyone, plenty of baklava to go around - you saw it. If I had just one of those round platters...
stayed at the exact spot a week earlier from this video. greetings from ankara
Thanks!
Thank you so much!
Greetings from İskenderun Hatay you just passed near my house ❤

Nice music. Sounds a bit like a mix of Kevin Eubanks and David Qualey. Nice🤭
Why somebody would want to insist to do This is just Kind ofwacko
Unbelievable! Thanks for documenting your travels and showing them to us.
The bit that upsets me watching this is seeing the pets. I would have to go with a big van and scoop them all up. :(
You have a healthy attitude towards war. I was meant to be a warrior. My older brother and hero was in the Vietnam War. That changed my thinking. Did you weep while you were there. It's alright if you didn't, I'm just emotional.
It truly is a magnificent land.
Thank you for sharing I always enjoy your videos, music, drone footage it all just comes together well done
Wow! Surprised that so many of the tiles, bricks, etc. weren't being re-used. It was interesting to note that all of the modern rebar buildings were mostly intact - it was just all of the older stuff with non-steel reinforced concrete walls. Which is a huge pity because of all of the beautiful old style building are now just rubble.
Ironically, it is known that this city was destroyed by very strong earthquakes several times. Due to its location, this is a geography where many communities are densely settled. I guess this is the fate of this city. it is known that there was no uprising in this region even during the Ottoman period. probably the people of this city were an ancient community that had always lived in this area until recently. some of the legends are still told by the old people who live in that city . it comes to them from their ancestors .
@@hk8450 Such an ancient place tells many tales
the fact that the earthquake occurred along a line with crowded cities hundreds of kilometers long, that it was a shallow earthquake, and that the subsequent earthquakes affected the region much more strongly based on its location, magnified the dimensions of the disaster. some neighborhoods were buried 6 meters underground due to the liquefaction of the soil. 200km long plate was moved.

Cool camp spot, but very shocked you managed to capture TWO Holden UTEs driving past; incredibly rare in the UK.
