😂 yeah, I wouldn’t want to try and learn something like this using this method, but I’ve had many a student come to me over the years that, at some point, have used this kind of video when they haven’t learnt how to read sheet music (something I obviously set about rectifying!). My original video had several requests for this version. It’s useful to see the notes, of course, but doesn’t show the distribution of the hands or the fingering used so for me it’s no replacement for the sheet music (which is available in the description). But then again, I think some people even enjoy it purely as a visual thing. It’s the same performance as the other video, I just used the midi information to trigger the visuals.

Hard to say… probably the practising involved to get it all to standard. But then again I remember ending up with around twenty drafts of the score (arrangement) before deciding that this was the one.

@@homegnome2429 I have, indeed. I was fortunate enough to see Chick play live with his band once, too. IIRC, I seen Hiromi and he playing a duet of his “Spain”. May have even been my introduction to her. Can’t remember!

Yeah, her work has featured quite prominently throughout the LCM syllabi over the years. She’s always been there since I started to include it as part of my teaching at least 20 years ago. As you probably know by now, I filmed most of the these videos several years ago before my other channel blew up with the talky stuff. I thought they’d be a useful resource for my students. I intend to add in other performances of much higher standard repertoire as time goes on. That stuff just takes a bit longer to prepare, especially with all the other stuff I’m up to!
