The bank of Canada cut rates again and prime is going down another quarter point. Bond yields have come down as well and this means there is some room down for lenders and rates. But you have to contact them to see if you can get a float down, they aren't going to call you to let you know. Honus is on you.

    The debt to income ratio of 165% is way too 'optimistic', it's closer to 600% in reality.

    I feel for those with mortgages. Im free from that slavery just this year. Just in time. First real estate will crash, then interest rates go up, banks call in loans , imagine that.

    All my friends who own homes say real estate will never go down lol. They also only gave 5% down payment and are are deeply in debt besides their mortgage. This madness has to stop.

      I've been selling stocks short since around 1984. The 64 thousand dollar question is when are the bankers going to crash the stock market or do nothing and let the stock market crash. The crash should rival or be worse than the '29 crash. Long term there's no better investment than Gold bars gold coins silver bars silver coins and platinum certificates. I'm short Canlan Ice Sports Corporation. They pay about a 2 percent dividend that I cover.

      Real Estate is better. You can have income forever by renting it out. Gold and Silver can never do that.

    just noticed this is a republished article from 2015. how long will the analysts keep saying same thing with nothing materializing. it is 2017 and house prices are on the rise again in this season. this is one tough bubble. it is more than one factor. talking about debt and interest and you are missing half the story, how about cash buyers both foreign and domestic (don't forget baby boomers or their estate who have paid off their mortgages 30 years ago and now made an easy .5-1mil selling their property)

    • @ThemortgagespecialistCanada
      @ThemortgagespecialistCanada 7 років тому

      Ilia P good question, how long will analysts keep saying the same thing ? there are analysts on both sides, the ones that believe that real estate prices are going to continue to climb infinitely . I do know one thing for certain, the average household income in lower mainland is about 70-75k....the recent changes to the mortgage rules has impacted a number of people, their affordability going down about 25 percent as a result.... how is a regular old house going for 1.4 million in coquitlam..... when a nicer house almost twice the size is 500k in Alberta?

    • @iliap1217
      @iliap1217 7 років тому

      i do not disagree. all indicators show it to be a unrealistic for regular household, and something got to give. or does it, as this is really the question. it is unapproachable for people going into housing market for the first time, but those already in it and cash buyers are not effected, and plenty of those buyers to drive it up. otherwise what explains the gigantic jump in 2017, just a season after Vancouver implemented changes. there is more at play than regular household who relies on mortgages. as i said cash buyers, including people upgrading and investing (are unaffected as everything is up buying and selling). just my reply after going through a ton of similar videos, yet read earlier about 33% increase year over year in 2017. still searching for the answer is all i'm saying.

    Isn't it disgusting that it took China to stop the outflow of money? Canadian politicians and real estate people were happy to keep laundering proceeds from crime and manufacturing operations built on slave labor that would have been considered criminal enterprises under North American labor and environmental regulations.

      lu. ca. The foreign tax is a drop in the bucket. China's capital controls will trigger the start of the fall. Thank Christ. How are all these Chinese money launderers going to pay their $2 million mortgages on their tiny Markham condos when they can't smuggle any more dirty money into the country? You can't become a manufacturing millionaire when you can't access a massive army of peasant slaves.

    I am going to have to disagree with this video.... Firstly, demand currently surpasses supply in Canada's big cities because population increase and migration to Canada. Secondly, in terms of compirason of the American housing, Canada is cheaper. Thirdly, the Canadian dollar depression has made Canadian real estate an attractive investment. Fourthly, major Canadian cities are becoming international tourist destination, in which people are buying housing for short term rental income like Airbnb. And lastly, it will never crash like the way it did in us because Canadian banks and govt has had much more stricter rules.

    YOU'RE ABSOLUTELY CORRECT, ALEEM. I LIVE IN SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA AND WE HAVE EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEMS CONVINCING PEOPLE THAT "NO TREE GROWS TO THE SKY". HOWEVER, EMOTIONS WILL ALWAYS OVERRULE COMMON SENSE SO MILLIONS OF PEOPLE WILL HAVE TO LEARN THE HARD WAY, EVEN THOUGH THEY'VE SEES WHAT'S HAPPENED IN ALL THE OTHER PLACES WHERE HOUSING TANKED AND LEFT A TRAIL OF DESTRUCTION. ON TOP OF THAT, CHINA IS GETTING REALLY SERIOUS ABOUT MONEY LEAVING THEIR COUNTRY SO SEVERE RESTRICTIONS ON OUTFLOWS AND WORSE STILL, ORDERS OF REPATRIATION, WILL SIMPLY DECIMATE CITIES WHERE THEIR PURCHASES HAD PUSHED UP HOUSING THROUGH THE ROOF.
