Awhile ago I washed the Detroit Diesel 671 on this 1957 GM PD4104 . Which caused the clutch to get stuck where I could not put it in gear while it was running. Talk to my mechanic Sensei Lee Hyde and he told me to jack it up with wheel off ground and put it in high gear and start it... While I did not get it on video, it worked. Bought a bus to use as a Parts bus. It didn't run before, I got ahold of it. I thought I'd have to drag it home, but for some reason, I have a knack for getting these things going. I fixed all the air leaks, fixed the stuck injectors, fixed the fan from hitting the shroud, got it out of the hole it sat in for 10 years and decided to replace the front Steer tires and then drive it home. Do you know why there is no way to eliminate the use of catridge filament anymore. It seems like all the programs and stuff have been taken down.
Can you please send me blueprint of gears?
These cameras are terrible. I had one DOA out of the box. One failed after about 16 months. I had exactly the same experience as you. The support people are completely useless. When you did your mode, did the door chime still work? I wouldn't think it would. I had Lorex support tell me it was my transformer even though both doorbells worked fine for 16 months or so. They are wrong. There is a problem with the power supply design.
🎉 one year later still good to go🎉😊
Do you have the circuit diagram you used for the switch?
Hi Travis, Thank you for posting this video! Also, a bus owner, I always enjoy your videos and find them very informative in a nice, humorous sort of way!!!❤ :)
I downloaded the firmware but it still says not enough filliment. Do I need enough filament on the chip in order to print?
If i remember right, it can't be at 100%
hello, i just downloaded the hacked firmware succesfullly onto my printer but my crtridge still reads 4 percent and is saying i dont have enough fillament to print even though i have 3rd party fillimen connected to it. what do i do
How did you trick the chip
I believe I change the firmware there's some videos on my channel around this printer it's a playlist you should be able to find it I don't remember at this point I made it after I figured out a solution
Have you try to use a marlin or open source controller?
No although all the wiring is labeled it should be easy to do that I'm just lazy
Hello, does it also work with Cubify cube 2nd generation or just Cube Pro?
I do not know I apologize
thanks, im using klipper and the it be easier to just use a heater block like you did and use standard 100k thermistors. thanks
Oh snap it happened again all I did is have to reset the recorder or the security system part of it maybe it's called the viewer I don't know
do you have the original software for .cube3 files ?
Yes I can add the original files that were on the SD card or are you wanting the factory card that's on the machine there's a SD card that's in the machine basically
so your firmware folders on google drive are empty for me am i doing something wrong?
No I look too they are empty. I don't know why I think maybe at first I allowed full access, so one of these a-holes probably deleted it... 😅 but I'll check the computer it's saved on see if it's still there
@@spitra01 awesome thank you cuz i can not get the toolbox to patch the firmware i have it keeps saying error patching firmware so if you still had the patched firmware that would be amazing

I've been considering buying a Lorex system, but your bad experience now has me reconsidering. Thanks for posting this video.
Well if you want to reconsider and this way has still worked to this point. Btw
Hi, thank you for this video. My question is , cause the views are quite mixed by both Lorex and the customers whether it works with 24VDC or only with 24VAC. Your input would be much appreciated! thanks
Should be 24vac and there is a certain amount of amperage but considering you ask me this a month ago I'm sure you figured out the problem
Also, my solution is still working, so that's a bonus. I have it wired to 5vdc via micro USB btw
Thank you for the reply, i tried with the 24VAC without success, even though the specs were the ones mentioned by Lorex. Eventually I did wire it through the USB port, and it's working as a charm. Cheers!
Both my doorbells wired this way to USB 2 a USB charger are still working by the way. They finally stated that I can return the units, but the fact that they worked this way make me think that I should just keep it this way. 🤔
Im wondering if I could just use the transformer and splice the wire for the usb on the back of the doorbell?
You have to confirm the power plug provided to power the doorbell via usb is delivering the same voltage as the transformer!
I'm pretty sure I stated in the video that the Transformer is AC the USB power is DC the two screws that are on the back of the doorbell are AC it's a little a USB plug is DC just to clarify.
I had the same problem. They are telling me its the firmware. My doorbell camera worked fine until It upgraded the firmware, then it stopped working.
I upgraded the firmware before installing the door Bells. Since I have two which is adnormal and one worked for about a month. I don't think that was my issue
A simple test would be to plug it into USB and see if it works. Its simply wired through the wall to my original wiring to a USB charger.
honestly in my opinion, if it hasn't been in an accident then its worth fixing it up because these cars are tanks, but if you plan on taking it to a mechanic then don't bother because they are so overengineered and expensive to fix.
Well in my opinion it was a head problem, the valves but I didn't want to tear it down to fix it I thought somebody else in town might want to have a go at it that's not as lazy as me so I gave all the diagnosing critiquing points in a video up to the point it doesn't state that I think it's the upper part of motor. It's been a while but I think on this GTP I did a compression test and let the buyer know, which cylinders were low so they were aware of it too what they may have to do. A lot of people collect this car so I thought people would just pick it up to use it as a parts car for their good one. That's what I would do with it if I had one especially the fact that I sold it for real cheap. Though a lot of people on buy sell trade kept stating they want it cheaper... lolz I think I bought the car maybe 6 years ago the intake had gotten water sucked up into it and blew the Piston apart so I rebuilt the lower end with a good 3.8 L I just never did the top end. It was a lot of work just to do that and I'm kind of mentally and physically handicapped now so I don't think I'd be able to...
@@spitra01 Ahhhh ok, yeah seems like that damage caused irreparable headaches, I don't blame you for selling it
Those buses had what was called a pony engine located in the Bay Area behind the driver’s side front tire. The pony engine was usually gasoline powered and that’s what the choke and ignition knobs are beside driver. The pony engine run the air conditioning and may have provided other power as well. Check out The Bus Grease Monkey channel, he’s the coach expert located in Tennessee where you can book a service appointment.
I thought Pony engines were helped to start a diesel engines...thus the pony...would help start the horses lolz... but in the manual that's for the generator it had an onboard generator that ran A/C
Oh also in one of these videos not sure if it's this one there's a gasoline tank that runs from right behind the passenger side wheel has a little flappy I think I opened it that's for the AC generator
I love ❤️ your videos, and I can't wait to see as you progress on the bus! I'm looking to buy a vintage bus conversion as well. I just have to get up enough guts!!! :)
Yup, check out the Bus Grease Monkey page. You'll love it. Guy has oodles of content working on 4104's [next to his own bus the 4104's get the most attention over the years. @@spitra01 lol am dumb than sorry :D
it does have an exhuast leak, maybe thats what your hearing?
If that was an infra red thermometer, you can't trust them, the surface affects the reading. Try it on a hot stainless steel frying pan then put some oil on the pan and the temperature reading will go up. I think a multimeter with a thermistor would be more accurate.
Oh yeah usually I put it on a non shiny surface
Great mod! I will think about doing upgrade like that! Thanks for video!

How do you reset the filament cartridge?
At one point I redid the firmware so that it doesn't do the filament anymore, im on ver 2.00
Change the resistance of the extruder for one equal to that while in the video but does not reach the temperature, it does not heat up, do you know why? Will it be because of some software coding?
Amazing!!!
"error patching fimare" while opening the Fimware file... any help ?
I had the exact same issue
Oh no! Did u get it?
@@spitra01 nah, it works but I am still looking into figuring it out. Not sure what I was doing wrong. I was messing with USB 2.0 VS. 3.0 compatability mode, and other versions of the tools but I don't have much luck finding them
I didn't really have a compatibility issue with USB other than what's in the cube Pro is a USB 2.0. I'm talkin about 2.0 in the video, I'm talking about the firmware not the...transfer speeds of the buses. (USB 3.0 has more pins btw like 8 fun fact)
Either way it doesn't have a compatibility issue with USB 3 because one of the sticks I'm using is a USB 3 but since that USB 2 only uses for pins two for power and ground into for data transfer then there is no problem. Sometimes the driver chip on some USBS though aren't compatible with installing firmware on some devices for example my TV would not allow me to use a PNY formatted to ntfs had to be a SanDisk brand an fat32... let me check the drives to see which format it is
