We decided to upgrade and do a semipermanent flat mount on the roof of the Brinkley. We have included the entire mounting process and speed tests with both the Gen 2 and Gen 3. Is that why you turn on every light because it"s cool looking. Camp in the city than. You are annoying. yes you win for the most lit and expensive camper. now turn of the lites so we can see our camp fire.
@@StephenFranzen-z2n wow! This must be a major trigger for you. I agree with all of your points. Like I said on the video, in numerous videos, I am very cautious about when the lights are on. We are very courteous campers. In Moab Utah no lights, in big bend, Texas no lights, in the badlands, no lights. If we are in a “resort” that is littered with LED security lighting and other RVs have their awning lights on or exterior lighting on then I will turn ours on until 9:30 pm. I do appreciate your lecture though.

The #1 thing my wife and I hope Brinkley does is to add additional floorplans that offer a bigger master bathroom. This is really the ONLY thing we don't like about the Brinkley floorplans. The options out there with the master bath up front that offers a double sink, big shower, etc. is just perfect for full-time couples IMHO. My perfect floorplan has a large master bath and a half bath mid RV and a garage or bonus room.
@@8654ZuluFoxtrot July of 2023 when we picked up our G they had 4 models. 2 G’s and 2 Z’s. Now they have 15 between the two lines! They still haven’t released the R or the I models so who knows what they will come up with! They do listen to customer input as well!

My wife and I are planning on going full-time in about 5yrs. I've started my research into what we want to get, so when we get near the time to pull the trigger on this, I know exactly what we want. I'm heavily leaning towards Brinkley and I just hope that by the time we get our rig that Brinkley still has this amazing customer service. They are massively popular right now and their trailers are everywhere. With this explosion in popularity, can they maintain this level of customer service and quality of build? I sure hope so. Oh, and thank you for being early adopters and finding all the things Brinkley needs to fix/improve on. Personally, I think Brinkley should give all of you that believed in them during their first year a HUGE discount on an "upgraded" trailer.....you guys are part of the reason they are on top right now!
Hey there any chance you checked pin weight with this guy all loaded up and bikes in the garage?
@@gkubiak1 great question! 4140lbs
@@chasing70degrees23 Wow that is definitely dually territory. I figured the two motorcycles would take a bit off the pin weight but you guys must load that storage up super heavy!
@@gkubiak1 sorry, it was 4100lbs. The truth is everything heavy is up front. The generator, lithium, master closet and basically every item of clothing we own. These G’s are 100% Dually territory. The Ram HO with 4:10 rear end can tow 34k with a cargo capacity just shy of 4.5k. That’s why we went with it.
@@chasing70degrees23 still it’s surprising because Brinkley factors all that in(except storage and clothes) at 3300lbs. In theory over a thousand pounds in the garage should reduce that number. Fuel and fresh water are in the back and over the axle.
@@gkubiak1 We are 31k all in on the Cat scale. Truck is 9600 with a full 50 gal fuel tank. I mean, we live in it. Our front baggage is by no means full. I’ve been trying to find a Luxe 48FB used, but can’t seem to find them, so the Brinkley is the next best thing. I’m glad to hear they have such great customer service. It’s also nice that it’s great build quality because great customer service is wonderful, but no one wants to have to use it.
@@tomgillotti I think you would be very happy with the 3970! When we bought our 3500 it was the only toy hauler model. 🤣
That's the Brinkley model we are considering, too, because we have a teenage son and plan on full-timing for a year after he graduates.
@@cookingsherry8784 That sounds like a great time!
Great video! Planning on getting the G3500 as well (hopefully next year), and was already thinking of either the starlink mini, or GEN3 like what is in your video. Mind if I ask how the GEN3 setup was your preferred over the mini? I know there is a 400 dollar difference in hardware, but other than that if there was anything else? Thx and safe travels guys!
Hi! great question. I think the mini would be fine if you had space limitations or wanted to only run it momentarily with 12V only for boondocking. I think the Gen 3 standard is better for overall performance. Wider dish equals wider capture arrays.

Hi guys, does the microwave have a convection in it? Also, on the power cord reel is it possible to leave it connected at all times as opposed to taking it completely off the reel? Really enjoy your channel. I believe you are from Texas. I am from dfw area
@@robingower308 great questions! Yes the microwave is a convection/air fryer/microwave by GE. To be honest though we only use it as a microwave. We keep a portable ninja brand convection oven/air fryer and use it in lieu of the big oven. It preheats faster and doesn’t warm up the entire kitchen area plus it seems to cook evenly. The power cord reel is just for storage. You have to take the 50amp cord all the way off to use it. We are from Texas! Both born and raised here. Our “home base” is in Argyle at an RV resort.

@@walterrafolski5662 Thank you for watching! We sometimes wish we had an actual permanent ladder to mount things on. I guess this setup will be our best option
Great explanation of what's needed. Is the reason for the difference in speed between the mounting position because its no long orientated North or is that no long a 'thing'? Second did you look into the 12v DC power transformer that skipped the 120v AC power supply and the inefficiencies AND SLs router. There are several YT that cover it.
@@chris31215 great questions! My research has found that the alignment can be ignored. It’s still running great even not angled to the North. All of our GFCI plugs, on the Brinkley, run off of the inverter when not hooked to shore power. The solar and lithium run those for us. I would love to do a 12V conversion though. I’d have to provide a 12V power source to the basement though.
The inverter and then the router suck up energy just making the 12 - 120 - 12v conversion, maybe as much as 40w/h & when boondocking that can add up. Can't wait until spring to get my G3250, keep up the great content.
