Galveston Ferry - See ships, tankers and Fort Travis as you cross the entrance to Galveston Bay.
The Galveston-Port Bolivar ferry takes travelers on SH 87 between Galveston Island and the Bolivar Peninsula. The ferry has an observation deck and indoor seating with restrooms. Dolphins will sometimes swim alongside the ferry during the 2.7 mile, 18-minute trip.
The ferry crosses the entrance to Galveston Bay, which is part of the Houston Ship Channel. There is a beach on the Bolivar Peninsula and a lighthouse. At least one vessel is in operation 24 hours per day.

The Harbor Lights party boat usually docks near the lighthouse for their excursions.
