I think it's because the number is the known amount of natural samples on a map, but you can go over the number from random such as those crates you have to open, or the pods you gave to salute.
Yup this - there is a fixed # of samples on the map at the start, and the rng reward locations (the ones that give super credits, medals, requisition, or a sample) can push it over the max.
Repeat after me don't reload without clean
I do this a lot with EATs on shrieker nests

Yeah but I had the rover could've swapped for a second but running was a must lol
@@Pocoyo13 so when you're wearing the backpack, on controller if you press Down, you can refill yourself, i don't really know on Keyboard, but i think it's X or something like that
@@Pocoyo13 If you're on console press down on the d-pad, if on PC press 5 since that is backpack slot

When the Pelican is sufficiently damaged (AKA on fire), it will extract with only the first player that gets in. And considering the Pelican is pretty resilient, the only way worthwhile to damage it, is by friendly fire and stratogems and not by enemies. So, that's on you guys. 😂
