PA28 - Exeter to Cardiff VFR | ATC Audio

Today we head to Cardiff VFR in G-WFWA, via Minehead VRP. The flight time was around 26 minutes and brought us into Cardiff on time with numerous BA Aircraft scattered around. With some being for maintenance, and the rest going into retirement, after BA retired all of their 747s. This video was recorded last year in October and therefore remains within government guidelines. Like & Subscribe fo...

UK PPL Training | PA28 - VRP Rejoins at Exeter Airport | ATC Audio
Переглядів 1,6 тис.4 роки тому
This is part two of the video I released last time, with this flight consisting of flying over Exmouth and asking for a rejoin. We then did a touch and go to then depart the circuit to the North in which we practised situational awareness, where different towns and landmarks were around the local area. This was the bumpiest flight I had flown in with the unstable air causing moderate to severe ...

One of my most recent lessons, in which I take G-CDDG for some general handling over Exmouth to the south west of Exeter. Mainly a re-currency flight as I had not flown for 2 months since this flight and a previous one the day before. This is the first half of the flight with the other half being VRP rejoins and more about situational awareness which I will upload following this video. Hope you...

UK PPL Training | MY FIRST SOLO | Exeter Airport | ATC Audio
Переглядів 7 тис.4 роки тому
The first time I have been airborne while on my own. I took off from runway 26 at Exeter to do one full circuit, a few improvements to make for the future is to remember to turn the fuel pump and the landing light on upon entering the runway and remember to try and maintain 1100ft for most of the circuit, the best flight I have had so far and sure there will be many good ones to come. Nice one Luke. Which Gopros do you use ?
What car park?
Bravo
Well done 👏
Pretty good to be fair, not sure if you changed your take in downwind checklist , carbheat, checked compass and di alignment, suction and charging when checking ts and ps. Didn’t say student to atc that way they know your student and alone.
Nice video.
Wow, this is amazing! I plane spot at Exeter Airport in front of Runway 08
Well done! You looked so relaxed throughout unlike my first solo when I practically s**t myself!
Guys how much is nowadays a ppl/ UK
Very nice solo flight. Hopefully one day you’ll be flying 777s or A380s.
Well done, nice of atc to be first to congratulate you 🎉.
I’ve got my first circuit lesson tomorrow! I’m so excited 😁
Good luck
When you first started, did you understand what ATC were telling you? they talk so fast. Nice landing
Which headset do you use ? And which ones would you recommend
Currently I use a David Clark H10-13.4 but plan on getting a Bose A20 headset when I get towards the latter stages of my PPL
Well done, I’m only just starting circuits but still finding RT hard and love how fluent you are, any tips much appreciated!! I’m also flying with ATC from EGNR. How long did it take you to become comfortable with RT?
I think with RT it’s all about consistency, the more you do calls, the more you will improve both knowing what to say and how to say it. Just making sure you learn from your mistakes with it and not trying to be perfect, as there’s going to be times when you misinterpret what a controller has said etc. Me personally with RT, I accept that there’s going to be times when I don’t get it right so I just do as best as I can, but it’s just about consistency with it really
Wow ! You so confident on the Radio that’s my weakest point 🤦🏼♀️
I appreciate it ahah. It comes with consistency, the more you practice RT it becomes second nature, rather than something you need to think about 👍🏼
Your audio is very clear, what setup are you using to record? Thanks
I use a Sony PX470 digital voice recorder
Nice work Luke, one cool, calm guy!
I appreciate that Paul, I will be getting back to uploading soon, thanks for watching :)
for your class 2 medical, will the prescription of your glasses matter much?
It doesn’t matter at all. It’s obviously noted and you have to wear them whenever in the aircraft, and you will have to bring a spare pair too
@@flyluke that’s brill, thanks!
No problem 👍🏼
I recently had my class 2 and I also wear glasses. It will be noted on your certificate that glasses must be worn at all times. But nah it should t really matter just as long as you can see
I enjoy these types of videos, certainly interesting and useful as I recently started training at Exeter myself! Keep them coming if and when you can and I will certainly leave a like.
Glad to hear that mate, good luck on your PPL
@@flyluke thank you I finished my first week on Friday. I gather from your videos you had Fabio as an FI at some stage?
@@simply_tom hi mate sorry for the late reply. Yes I had Fabio for quite a few of my lessons and will be resuming lessons with him very soon
Great video, keep them coming, and good luck in your training.
Cheers Frank, I will be filming again sometime again hopefully, unfortunately I can’t do every flight as I’d like. But I should be uploading again within the next few months 👍🏼
After atc said is that your first solo. I welled up. Well. Done
Nice channel! Any chance you could do a “non instructional” vid on typical joins, ground movements and circuits for Exeter?
Thanks a lot! - I could definitely look at doing this in the future, thanks for the recommendation 👍🏼
♧Thanks for another great video. What airspeed range should we aim for in the emergency descent/Spiral dive?
Hi there, thanks for your comment. In regards to your question you aren’t really aiming for a specific airspeed in a spiral dive, as your focus should be primarily on recovering back to straight and level flight, not what airspeed your doing 👍🏼
@@flyluke what if you have an emergency such as a fire and you need to descend and land as quickly as possible? In order to practice something like this what is the maximum airspeed?
@@Sky_Burger88 I mean in that scenario in terms of the airspeed you’d want to aim for the best glide speed which in the aircraft I train in, is 73kts. Not too sure what your asking in terms of the ‘maximum airspeed’

Cześć, dzięki za oglądanie, naprawdę to doceniam!
Supreme content!
Great video, really enjoyable watch, and you flew right over my house on right hand off 26 :-)
Hi Matt, thanks a lot, really appreciate it 🙂
Oi oi
😉🙌🏼
great vid mate!
Thanks mate 👍🏼
How is your training going at the moment? Have you finished now? :)
Hi there mate. So not yet I haven’t been able to upload for quite some time due to certain restrictions. But I will be uploading again soon fingers crossed 🤞🏼
Nicely done! Just about to go solo in PL myself (it's found its way to Glasgow)
That’s great haha enjoy it, it’s a nice aircraft :)
i love flying sierra juliet
Brilliant first solo, well done Luke 👍
Thanks a lot :)
Hi luke ,great instructive video. Just one constructive observation. When you were giving your position over Exmouth and ATC gave you runway in use , QFE, leg to arrive on, then read back fully not just the base leg. As with everything else with flying do not expect to hear what you think ATC may say. Every flight and every conversation should be treated as the first time. This time ATC did not pull you up, but when you fly through other matz and busy ATC areas they will and if you do not have a brilliant memory or you have not written down the detail you are going to come across as less than professional. Also your instructor should have reminded you. Little details make all the difference. I look forward to your other videos.
Hi Peter, I appreciate that a lot. As with the read back I will take that into consideration the next time I’m given information. But I completely get where your coming from with that, as I’ve struggled in the past making sure I write everything down 👍🏼
Absolutely superb, really enjoyed watching that. Beautifully executed and comms were so fluent. 👍
Matt Veale thanks a lot mate appreciated 👌🏼
I'm hoping to train with ASW too (hi fabio 😂)
I've flown Papa Lima! Love the PA-28
Buen vidio pero poco texto

Nice video Luke and a really great landing to finish. Looks like you're doing really well 👍😊✈

Cheers mate 👌🏼
Great video- but they weren’t quite the horrendous spiral dives I was made to do 😂
Haha, thanks a lot mate first time doing them not quite at the spin training phase yet 😂
I think your instructor’s obviously fairly decent. Mine was amazing but a maniac 😬
Good vid luke 👍
Cheers mate 🙂
