The dog noise at 0:59
Can someone please solve my doubt : On a flight an aircraft is found to be achieving a G/S 10% higher than the planned. Assuming all other conditions same revised distance to PNR will be? a) less b) more c) same Please explain why is it (a).
This is outside the syllabus for the CASA exam I’m afraid.
Why don't you subtract 1 at the end when you're doing the Mach number to TAS calculation? I thought that was needed.
Hey Sam, the only reason some people subtract 1 is that the 39 you multiply in the formula isn't exactly 39, it's 38.975, and they think subtracting 1 will make it more accurate. But it doesn't, there are more times that subtracting 1 makes it less accurate than more. So if I was a gambling man, I'd take the odds. The more important reason though, is that when Gavin (the guy that writes the exam) does his calculation, he doesn't subtract 1. And our aim is to be as close to his answer as possible. Good question, cheers
@@aviation_theory_services Good to know! I knew about the rounding thing, but didn't know the almighty Gavin has weighed in on it. I'll stick to your method then.
