Its beautiful Gothic design, a stand out in the town, is a structure shipped directly from England in the early 20th century to replace its prior version."_ Samana is also the site of one of, if not _thee_ , supposedly first armed clashes between the Spanish (Pinzón & crew on the Pinta, Columbus & crew on the Niña) and indigenous people in the New World. That landmark ("De las Flechas" - of the arrows) is in Samanas Las. Seems like I recall a sign/landmark in Las Terrenas (?) which actually mentions that history, but I can recall if I saw the landmark in Las Terrenas or another part of Samana.
