Haha! yeah, I get that. Paint markers can cover the numbers a bit, or using pencils will sometimes, I will be looking for grey numbered mosaics going forward, they are easier to cover/less noticeable. Tuesday's Video will be a mosaic completed book. I did a lot of trying out with different mediums. Check it out :)

Yes, with a little practice they are pretty user friendly. Biggest downside is they bleed through the paper, so the picture on the other side is ruined, or you can only use them on single sided pages. Second depending on the marker and paper you use you don't want to take the tip of the marker right up to the edge of the black line, the marker will bleed over it and it looks messy. Again, with a little practice you get a feel for how close to go. Most have a strong smell so just to be aware of that too. HUGE positive is that you can get really smooth coverage without the strikes of water based markers, and with some practice they can be blended too. Another great way to use them is to colour with the markers first to get a base of colour then you can go over the top with pencils to help even things out, add shading, etc. With having hand pain this could be a useful technique for you. Markers definitely don't hurt my hands in the same way pressing hard with a pencil would. You don't need to press hard at all with markers. Downside markers are thicker then pencils so that does work my hand in a different way. My suggestion is to get a small package to try out, if you like them then get more. A little package of Sharpies would give you a sense of it. Michael's carries artist loft alcohol markers which I haven't used. They also carry Ohuhu's which I just got in November. I got the 120 set but they have smaller sets of 6 or 8 I think. They smell way less then sharpies. Amazon carries all these too. Lastly, Dollarama carries Artist Series alcohol markers, they are black barrel and you can get 12 for $4 they have 4 or 5 sets each with assorted colours, you can get a pack of those to try too. These will fade fast and will cause some yellowing on the other pages they touch, but again, for $4 you can see what alcohol markers are like, then get a better brand if you like them. I used these before I got Ohuhu's when I could not tolerate the smell of sharpies anymore. I gave them to my kids to use.
