I have some trees that need chopping down on some land i just retired to and want to start an orchard if any of these guys need somewhere to practice. I have both hardwood and pine.
Where you located?
@@WVAxeman 30 miles west of Little Rock Arkansas in a community called paron. In the foothills of the Ouchita mountains.
@@WVAxemanour land borders thousands of acres of timber belonging to a timber company. Last year bears came out of the woods and destroyed some bee hives. And we have lost many chickens to wildlife, mostly coyotes.
I could never work out why you Americans cut square logs...
It’s the easiest for us to get frankly. Saw mills can cut them out a lot easier and quicker than we can turn them down, wrap them, etc. easier to transport too.
What was the wood species?
16” pine sawing. 13” aspen uh. 12” aspen st. Women on 11”
Great lumberjack show The only thing there was not any pertection child's in hot Saw
Had the stands staggered and crowd in front. Wasn’t necessary given set up
You arstill one of best single buckers in ths orld
Great!!!
Thank you
Unbelievable!!!!!!!!!
Thank you
💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Not wearing steel-toe shoes while doing underhand chop is a bit reckless.
Wearing chainmail footies and leggings under my pants and shoes. Steel toe shoes are cumbersome and don’t protect the areas that are injured while chopping underhands - instep and arch of the foot.
Jamie Wish I could be at Webster One thing I am still good at is on a Mic from years ago With my Dad years ago at Boonville and PSC
Really nice run.
Very proud of you to be able to watch a long time timber sports family member While be in timber sports
crazy athletic for your age! keep putting in that work! love the videos!
Thank you for your kind words. I enjoy the grind and putting in the effort. I like to think it keeps me young in spirit. 😊
Good Luck!
Thank you. Will give it all I have to give. 😊
Great run at 10:25. That underhand chop is fast :D
Thank you. If only I could have stayed on it. 🤦
Decades of experience being young*
Yep. And not so much anymore. And loved every second of it.
Ekka?
It’s the Royal Brisbane Show. Happens during August. B
18 years that we had fun together in Sydney? Greetings,Hermann
Absolutely Hermann. Time for new things for me. Will do Ekka next year. And my wife wants to go back to Tasmania for Christmas; we really enjoyed that trip.
Getting technical, I like it😁
You'd think they'd wear steel toe boots
I am wearing chain mail leggings and foot guards. Steel toe boots are very cumbersome and large. The chainmail is much more efficient
Steel toes also don't protect the side of your foot which is the most likely area to be cut doing this
Really enjoyed this show
Great pictures with your girls and wife And Great pictures of your great Dad And my Dad's best friend for many great years
Great new axes while doing standing block and underhand chopping
No snow Nice g reen grass
Beautiful weather Ed. Back to the tornados and snow today
What wood are your chopping and sawing on looks like black cherry
Ed, the wood I am chopping is round leaf stringy bark and blue gum. Gerald Youles is cutting white gum. The stringy is like cutting straight grain locust. The blue gum is comparable to the elm we have in Appalachia. The white gum is simply white oak in my opinion - soft but you have to use a very narrow scarf because the chips hang in the way as it’s cross grained
Wishing I was there to cheer you on my timber sports family
What wood ya cutting there?
Mostly white ash. There was some brown barrel in the handicaps
Salesman: Do you want a Husqvarna or Stihl? Buyer: Just looking for ol' Hank
Could you explain what JP was talking about with your technique vs his technique on the push pull?
JP wants me to finish the stroke with the handle right up against the log. And then pull the initial part of the near wood with the belly of the saw on my pull stroke but simply extending my left knee and pulling the entire saw with my body instead of my arms. I hope that makes sense?
@@WVAxeman yes that does. sorry for the late reply. thank you!
Is the bounce the slight bend with your knees and why not use it?
I liken “the bounce” to pulling my torso into the log with the slight Bend of the knees. It’s a timing element to the swing.
Lookin good fellas👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Many thanks 😊
Love!
54 years old and still cant tighten a clamp
Not exactly sure what you mean? The vice stand was as tight as I could get it. It has some marginal play in it.
@@WVAxeman any play at all means it ain't tight. You got soft hands, boy
@@NexusEradication lol. You are funny.
@@WVAxeman what the hell does "lol" mean? See, that's what's wrong with your generation, always making shit up
@@NexusEradication telling me my hands are soft is just laughable frankly. Yes. I am a lawyer. But I work with my hands to maintain my sanity. As calloused as a bricklayer. And can lay brick. Not sure why you feel the need to be so judgmental. That’s on you not me
❤
Why did I watch that to its entirety
The saw is boss , but that song is noise
Hell yeah
That thing eats
I actually blinked when the sawe become to the camera 😭
А были случаи когда дровосек приходил домой без пальцев ног?
Imagine making a fortress out of wood and you’re like “they’ll never get through” and you see this guy approach over the horizon 💀💀💀
LOL. Add marksmanship and we have zombie apocalypse skillZ
MERICA
Nice bro
I admire the accuracy of your strikes!
Thank you. Just like any skill, simply takes time and effort to become consistent.
Hope you liked Tassie mate
Loved it. Both my wife and I went into this trip as a bucket list one time and done idea. After being here, we want to come back again
Phenomenal
Oh my. Please show me your ways
That is awesome! I cut wood everyday in the fall and winter. I split all my firewood by hand 18 inches and smaller for my stove. I appreciate the hard work and to be in decent shape to do competition. You use muscles that most people don't know they have. I used to watch those type competitions on TV in the 70's. Log rolling and the events you are doing. Keep up the traditions and areas of life you enjoy. God Bless
Thank you for your kind words ❤️
They some choppin' people. Love it. Thanks
As surgical as your chopping is you should have been a surgeon instead of an attorney. What kind of law do you practice?
Trial attorney. Specializing in civil defense. Actually the resident medical expert in my office. I enjoy learning about the processes associated with surgery and orthopedics.
