A good boil dip will help soften the head to make removing it a restoration easier. I did a big combing oit like you did & regular hair conditioner to help get out the tangles. While it hot you can use a comb to style , i also used small perm rods ro put the curl back. Her hair responds well the a gentle heat & can be usedwhen styling ( a blow dryer works well) I also braided the long hair to make it easier tonpull tbrough & putl the head back on.

Awe, I found your channel trying to find a tutorial on how I could restore my Bye-lo baby. She was given to me from a friend who was cleaning out her cellar. She was a reproduction baby from the 90's, so not that old, but her face is now broken. I almost have all the pieces, but I have no idea how to restore bisque. Hoping I might find a little helpful video in your collection. I did try to find a replacement head on ebay and ended up buying two more bye lo babies cause they are just too cute! No luck in finding a spare head yet. Thanks for the video. I am really enjoying your restorations.

I agree with you that seeing the age on the dolls is so fascinating! The few that I have restored, I have left most elements of the doll as original as possible, even if it looks really old. I’m glad your doll was shipped safely. 🙏🥰 Your dream baby head turned out really nice. I still have my baby doll from childhood. She is a vinyl doll with cloth body and baby blue sleep eyes. I got her when I was 10 so I have had her for 50 years!❤

Never saw that pencil trick before! I have no antiques, but I have a Bye Lo babie from the 70's. Her body was destroyed when I had a whole in the roof and it rained on her. You did a wonderful job!

I still have my Kader baby doll, her name is Betty and she is 55 years old! I love looking at these old dolls, just thinking about a little girl 100 years ago getting one for Christmas or Birthday and all the joy and excitement they would have had opening and playing her with them.

Hi I just brought my Shirley Temple doll from my moms house and at some time her hair was straightened so I would like to try to recital it. Do you recommend a specific type of fabric softener. Is it normal hair conditioner you used afterwards? I will need to go buy both and curlers so I hope you see this and are willing to respond with suggestions. I’m 71 and I’m guessing my doll is 60-70 yrs old but haven’t checked her for markings yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Fabulous! I've been thinking about redoing a few so-so Barbies and Kens that have no value into Goth and costume people. Once bought a lot of clothes and dolls so little invested in them but obviously fun to do what you did, make it interesting. The update you did so well, she's been reborn to a whole new doll life.

I’ve treated a lot of stains on vintage fabric in my doll restoration adventures. I find that making a paste with the oxy powder and hot water, and working it gently into the fabric with one of those ultra-soft toothbrushes really works like magic!

They look just gorgeous! Great restoration work. I don’t have any antique dolls in my collection so I always enjoy watching others make them beautiful again, hoping you’ll post more 🥰 thank you!

cried happy tears on this one. she looks so much like my dol Sally. poor Sally came down with biro induced spots that she never recovered from. she ended her days, in a box in the loft. I was devistated to later discover, this was a fatal mistake, she perished litterally. her vinyl dried to the point of collaps. i was and still devestated about this. if you are needing to store your dolls, please be mindfull of the longer term tempreture that area may experiance. don't want someone else to loose a special doll that way

For the “natural wave look” hair you tried lightly wrapping their hair in piece of old t shirt or light weight thin towel and letting it dry most of the way wrapped? I have this type of hair and when I want that gentle wavy look all over I do that. It really works great on my hair.

I love the 60s ponytail hairstyle with the 60s outfit! And, I agree with you... I think those legs were designed with this outfit in mind! I was, however, quite surprised at how different each Barbie looked in the same outfit!
