This is why most Fijians are mixed Tongan, because we’ve been trading and fighting each other for thousands of years through the Lau islands channel lol.

@@godlordcolin keep seeing your name everywhere u got something against tongans?
Thats tavuni hill! the site where exiled tui pelehake maile latamai settled with his followers. Forgotten in tonga but him and his warriors were considered mighty in fiji due to the many wars and victories they had against the surrounding tribes.
Who said that they were forgotten in Tonga? Where did you get that information?
I thought they were exiled Tongan warriors during the civil war.
@@uluivudaratu6770 well the tui pelehake is the most important chiefly/royal title after the king. Maile was lekaumoana's eldest son and should've been the next in line but he was banished and the title was given to his brother 'uluvalu. I dont know how it works in fiji but in tonga if you are banished or stripped its considered a disgrace. We hold our chiefs/nobles/royalty in high regard and things of that nature arent spoken about.
Not all of Fiji. Every region has their own warriors.

Tonga & Fiji have always had a strong relationship. Tongans have been in Fiji long before 1700s, there has always been close connections & ties to each other. It was at times much closer than Tonga’s relationship with Samoa. Much love & respect to the Fijians & Tongans in Fiji. #OfaLahiAtu
their was also almost a lost legend widespread in ouvea island. Explaining that their was a powerful kingdom call "faga futuna tui tonga" mentioned that they conquered Ouvea island, brought their tradirions and influenced people in Ouvea. Tribes from Northern New caledonia and Drehu also mentioning "toi Tunga" trading amongst us. Regards Dr Francis
@@ouiindependencelekanaky6303 can you give me some link to that information please? The Tu'i Tonga had a little empire which those two countries were included.
Renegade, thas why I love my toko so much as indigenous Fijian.
