100% Zanmato
NOTE: You don't need overdrive for Yuna or Yojimbo.
Do not save your game, during the process.
This is a failproof strategy how to make
Yojimbo do Zanmato to any opponent you want.
First of all, you need to load saved game,
because always after you do,
Yojimbo does automatically Wakizashi
and that is the key to make this thing work.
Step 1. Load saved game and fight against Hornet at Monster Arena.
(because it can take all 4 x 99,999 hits from Yojimbo
that is required.) Summon Yojimbo
and he will do automatic Wakizashi).
Step 2. Pay him 1 gil and he will do Wakizashi again.
Step 3. Pay him 1 gil and he will do Kozuka.
Step 4. Pay him 2 gil and he will do Kozuka again.
Step 5. Dismiss Yojimbo and go against any opponent you want.
Pay 21,000gil and he does Zanmato.

In FFX I rarely using him,I prefer using anima,bahamut and Magus Sister
First run off ff10 I did I don’t know what I did but my yojimbo was bugged I always give to him 1gil and I had chance of 100% zannato I never did it again in other run ☹️

I call shenanigans. I tried to get Yojimbo to Zanmato mountain Seymour, reloaded about 10 times, and only twice did he use the instant free Wakizashi. Therefore your claim that he ALWAYS uses a free Wakizashi after loading is a load

For 100% success rate, have Yuna’s overdrive ready before you summon him, I drop 10k and one hit kills every one, did it to Seymour but I couldn’t do it to Sin
Just tried this an it actually works. Just fyi the attacks you said he’d do weren’t the exact same for me but in the end it worked still
Just tried saving the final move. Didn’t work on Braska’s final aeon but worked on some random mobs so it’s not 100%

While Yojimbo is walking, it sounds like Goofy trips over a sitar twice in the background. He might even be drunk. Listen for it. There's a unique sound that happens twice as he's walking onto the battlefield, that's the one: Goofy tripping over a sitar. He says "oof!" each time he does it too.
Yojimbo is easily my favorite aeon, he’s so badass. They should bring him back in a future game.

I played the original American version and rarely ever got to use see a Zanmato. It was a 10% chance of one-shotting at best.

Used yojimbo for the 2nd fime in my save and it was against yunalesca final form. Paid 40k and 1st move he done was zanmato (no overdrive)👌
I experimented since I started playing again after years. Paid 250001 to get him which is 1 gil more than his asking price. Them pay him 25000 per use. He uses zanmato more than anytime I've ever used him in the past. It's crazy. I've nerfed dark aeons lol

How much Gil is needed for Zanmato? The base motivation (BM) according to how much he has been paid. The lowest base motivation is 0 if he is paid 1-3 gil and the highest is 112 if he is paid at least 536,870,912 gil. And that is how you dont waste so many turns using kozuka and stuff

This is stupid. YOu just need to summon him A LOT since you get him, also you have to pay him a specific percentage of your money every time you do that. My Joyinbo did Zanmato on the optional boss (Der Richter , German name of the boss, dunno english name now) on top of that, he did it by himself, without me paying anything, right at the start of battle i summon and he did Zanmato right away !!

So... Last time I played this game (many years ago...) I couldn't defeat Seymour no matter what I do because I suck at Final Fantasy games... Eventually I decided...I'm going to start a new game since my mom bought it for me for my switch on Christmas and then I'll just... Get absolutely rich, try and somehow get Yojimbo through dumb luck, and then just try and get the one shot. I'm well aware that this probably won't even work because I likely won't even be able to summon the damn guy but I can dream.
Who figures this shit out? Do the game developers release the numbers or do loser hermits sit there 24/7 trying every number lol

He doesn't do the sword move automatically after a loaded game from my experience. Is it guaranteed that he'll do it automatically or no? I always find giving him 10k increases the chances of him doing his overdrive. From my experience, anyways. He's always done it in 1-5 turns. But against Dark Aeons, 1/5 chances will get you killed.
