Reverse Oyster Beard I (Turntablism at its best!)
Oh wow, the temptations could sing
Awesome clip
Blacks and Puertoricans rocking it together. 🇵🇷
What’s the track id at the start plz 🙏🏻🤘
You have a good eye for different styles of rocking!!
You can see the similarities between this and memphis jook especially back in the day jookin
I think this is the only DJ VHS I owned. Found it used in the 813 via 305 probably. Flashing back.
That's so FRESH!
The BEST crew was the Body Mechanics, the floor masters had the most beef, Rock Steady had rep, and the dynamic breakers went to Hollywood. There were other crews. . The lockers from L.A. make up the top five.
Floor Masters!
Do any one have or know where I can get a copy of this whole video..I am willing to pay for it
This video was provided to us as a gift in a VHS Tape by Frosty Freeze may he rest in Peace. Some of us could not make some of these parties but we were fortunate to watch it shortly there after. -DJ WheelMaster
frosty was my man..he promised me copy of this tape before he passed away..but for some reason we could never hook up..that is me and my crew...how much would it take for you to give me a copy of that video
@@firstclassmcs just email me.
Take One was nasty
This is a spin off series of SNL called The New Show airing on February 3rd, 1984. (Penny Marshall also made her only appearance on Letterman the same week.) This is Season 1 episode 4 (the only season, it was cancelled in March of the same year with only 9 unique episodes airing.)
@UNITED NATIONS
TABLE RAZOR CIGAR MARIHUANA CHAIR🙃
This was actually the stage of Saturday Night Live. Breakers didn’t have much room to show off their talent. But they are warriors since they made it work!
Looks like it was recorded on a toaster
This also shows we allowed Puerto Ricans in the party. Without the music you have nothing
Yeah, sure. As if there was any gatekeeping going on. You can talk all the ___ you want.
Without the dancers there’s no reason for the music … not separable, all elements come together.
@ We brought the dancers to so what are you yapping about. Hollywood picked Puerto Ricans to feature in their movies over black dancers because they wanted it to cross over to a white audience. Black people invented modern dance , jazz, blues, rock and roll, rap and pop
@@myronsmith2114 You're the one yapping! "Hollywood" picked Puerto Ricans for Wild Style and Beat Street(a Harrry Belafonte film)? Westernized Africans invented "modern dance"? Jazz is a repackaging of Western music with western instruments. 'Rock n Roll' is a generalized term, the same as 'Pop'. In order to build you need components. There are no african components in anything you use.
This is 10 years after break dancing and Locking really started. It started around 71 and it wasn’t New York but California by a group called the Lockers everyone is trying to write them out of history
ok now I need the tracklist
Um this is funny as hell! 🤣 kind of cringe…kind of goofy. 🤣 ima keep it a buck!
Vogue and skate board and surfing cake out of this ok
In another 3/4yrs in the LES, I was those kids in the background watching. Didn't get to do my thing until the battle was over and everyone was leaving. Bring back memories.
So grateful this is on UA-cam. It didn't really hit in Baltimore until late 82ish. Who filmed this??? This looks like surveillance footage.
Young DOZE
Awesome footage. Thanks for sharing
This is history. Very important. Glad I came across this.
0:00 to 13:50 I wonder why the breaking circle was so small at this jam, looks like they were really restricted for movement
There was another commercial with a different song and most of the scenes from this one was used including Turbo.
Doze busted into my apartment during an earthquake.😂😂😂
Did you Guys make this dance up In the bronx as well?
Dope 🔥🔥🔥
Dope i like footage like this. Does anyone have hip hop footage from before 1979?
funky event. thanks for sharing
BORN TO ROCK 1979
How this ideas keep coming from africa is a masterpiece
Much love to all of you then and all now..never stop never give you up!
This is the Bronx not Africa. Lol
08:30 Who's that DJ?
I think it's AJ but not 100% certain on that
that's DJ Mike G..from Douglass Projects
Wow mind blowing thank you UA-cam 1981 I was in high school 🇵🇷🇺🇸🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🇵🇷🇵🇷
Probably the best copy I've seen 🔥
the music today is almost no different to the beats that were being dropped back in '81! I'm impressed!
Love this vid!!!!
Guys, any chance anybody know who sang the "it's like that y'all" ? song?
What year was this video? Was it 1984?
Hi Elizabeth, i recorded this in July 1984
Hold on ? Moonwalk way before Michael ? We talking 1981 footage
Yes, people were moonwalking pre-MJ. It was originally called the “backslide”. Jeffrey Daniel was the one who taught MJ how to moonwalk.
I first saw it from some little Spanish dude on a piano, it was a movie from like the 50’s or 60s
Normski taught MJ how to do the moonwalk
Watching this video brought tears to my eyes! Seeing the pure essence and genesis of hip hop culture caught on film is verymoving. The segment of this where the music cuts out and it's just the b-boys battling is amazing. Thanks for posting!!
Well said
Yo this is crazy amazing. Can't underestimate these skills! Dope!
Devious Doze in the house Rock Steady classic vintage footage Thanks for posting.
Since this was the first time I ever saw breakdancing in 1984, let me be the first to comment!
