Is this tutorial for a global inventory or a player based one? Also, what does TM mean in this case? Am I allowed to copy paste and modify code from your project?
I think it works for both cases. TM is ... just a joke, maybe a bad one, whoops. Yes! Feel free to copy and paste from the project, I don't mind! :) That's basically the intention of this tutorial. But, I must say I've figured out a better inventory way lately at least for me, it includes keeping the rigidbody3d version of the item even in the GUI inventory slots at all times, even if it is not seen, but it is made visible always when the item is laid on ground. I'm trying to encapsulate the idea into solid package and make a tutorial about it some day in the future. Cheers!
How do I make it so I don't start with placeholder?
You might want to take a look at the project files (in description or in my comment below) But yes, to change the gray ball to be something else but keep the scene the same requires something to do with @tool and PackedScenes and possibly set-get also, which I'm not yet very familiar with. I've made some tests with not-so-pleasing results. It works, but not very well :/
Very helpful, thanks! :)
Yay! Thank you :) I'm not the best explainer, but the information was very important in my opinion. Thanks for the comment!
You did more than a fine job explaining!
@@gabrielbarreiro7800 Yay! Thank you :)

Great tut in 2024! I like how you left in some errors instead of editing them out because I ran into some of those errors myself. thanks boss!
heyo the thing you have used to dim the other paragraphs, what is it? i it folke's twilight?
Can't remember but apparently these were found in my settings: Plug('junegunn/limelight.vim') Plug('pocco81/true-zen.nvim') Rest of my configs: www.gearnoodle.com/helix
Oi, the respective successors to that are: folke/twilight.nvim folke/zen-mode.nvim
IMPORTANT NOTE: ua-cam.com/video/kt8dSrmo2ok/v-deo.html ANOTHER NOTE: If you have the same kind of structure as I have in the beginning of the video, you won't probably be needing the item_data.tres or weapon_data.tres files at all. You only need the .gd scripts and banana_pistol_data .gd and .tres and flower_data .gd and .tres. Cheers!
Thank You so much, you save my life
can this be used for 2D as well?
Yes! Should work very well. Although I'm planning on making a new tutorial about even better method, in maybe a couple of weeks, but no promises. You see, I was recommended to learn to use Classes efficiently instead of this way.
good to know it could work! might not use it just yet as I'm a newbie/wannabe gamedev and I'm still at the basics, so maybe by that time you've made a new tutorial!
Download the project here: files.gearnoodle.com/godot_inventory_tutorial.zip If you want Drag&Drop functionality, I wholeheartely recommend these both: ua-cam.com/video/8cV-5ByZLOE/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/dCjMVoQ4l38/v-deo.html
Can you do a tutorial please?
Thank you for the idea, I'll think about it, not sure yet, cheers! :)
@ Thank you for your answer! Because There is not enough tuto in interface animation
@@DZMN3D true! I for one would like to know how this was created: ua-cam.com/video/sZXfSgLkp-Y/v-deo.htmlsi=fSzoY4aeUBelfipk
You have to build this.
:) What do you mean by build?
In Blender.@@Gearnoodle
@@kevinhouse7143 Yes, that is where it came from :) In www.gearnoodle.com front page is the realistic version of it
Oh wow, I haven't been to your site in a while. It's perfect.@@Gearnoodle
@@kevinhouse7143 Thank you! :D Haha
Hey Manu, maybe next time could you reduce your camera window and make the nodes and modelling windows a bit bigger? So we can see those nodes a bit better. ;-)
I do understand - but my investment to the camera equipment was so high that I want to get everything out of it always :D
That being said, I really should hide my cameraview and make a fullscreen 'snapshot' available about the nodes for the people who want to pause and examine the nodes. Thank you for the feedback!
That would be awesome! Btw, I made my comment before the part in the video where you noticed yourself that your camera view was so big, sorry I should've watched it all before commenting :-)@
@@kevinhouse7143 haha, of course, of course. I'm glad that the 42% big camera image was too big for you but not the 40% :P That's good, that's good - Yeah I messed up some things in the stream, will be fixed in the next one! :)
don't know how i stumbled upon this but your mappings are extremely interesting. will definitely take inspiration from this
How do you highlight the current Paragraph? And how do you set up this zen mode?
Wtf
Thank you sir
Thanks Manu! The welding seam is really most hard but interesing part of the work here.
Thanks! :)
try it
font looks slick , What's the name of the font ? and how do i get that cursor animation ?
I think so too! The font is github.com/ryanoasis/nerd-fonts/tree/master/patched-fonts/Iosevka semi-bold version and the cursor animation is bundled in the Neovide application, nowadays I configured it to emit pixiedust in addition to the stretching :) See the Neovide manual for that
What are you smoking while making this video bruh
Hi, where can I find your config? I really like your keybindings!
Great to hear that :) And of course I recommend you to bind your own, but feel free to take some notes of mine, or use them as is if you insist :P Here: sites.google.com/gearnoodle.com/helix-editor-gearnoodle-config/home
❤
Ah, sorry, Enter indeed was used for confirming the word search…
I’ve already changed my config into better one than in the video. Shall be updated to the link soon.
Sr but what is your mouse using? It sound good
Steelseries Prime Wireless - I like it very much. Even though I didn't know it sounded good, hehe :) (And you need to take into account that the microphone makes it sound different than in real life.)
cool
Wau! Tosi makeen näköinen animaatio🤩
Fantastic
Great work!
nice
it looks like you can edit in the render view these days. who'd a thought! =)
Oh man, the audio clipped quite a lot, actually :/ The compressor filter was on 20db, that's way too much, I try to use 15 next time
I learn so much from your streams, thank you 😄
That's so great to hear! Thank you so much! :)
you are great really .... am happy for your 1000 Sub 😀👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Whee, thank you! :)
Great work, dude, thanx!
Can I use a weight painted plane to distribute the flowers??
That could work, yes. Let me get back to you, soonish, I'll make a try
@@Gearnoodle I actually figured it out. I just changed the point distribution to “poisson”setting and then plugged the density factor into the attribute group node and connected it to the weight painted vertex group. That allows you to keep the density Max you set up as well.
@@Guest_1138 Hey! Excellent! Good to hear :)
Please remember the screencast keys :D This is a great video, thanks for sharing it!
Oh dang it, it's so hard to get them ON by default - one always need to remember to activate them :/
you saved my life haha I spent all day trying to recreate this without success 😅
Haha, thank you :) I'm glad it was a benefit for you!
Sorry I misunderstood maybe, you didn't get results by following the tutorial, that's what you're saying?
@@Gearnoodle I took the file from Gumroad so it's working properly...but I have another issue with this kind of animation, I tried to put the plants in a linear position (like in a row) and when the effector comes near the flower it starts to grow but it's growing in a deformed way, what I mean is that the effector is affecting the vertecies of the mesh not the mesh as a whole, if you understand what I'm saying...
@@dario7888 Can you elaborate more in an e-mail and send an example .blend of that error? I'd be pleased to see what's going on: manu at gearnoodle dot com
Hi) Thanks for sharing. Very kind as always) And why Windows, were is Linux, you as i know is very Linux enthusiast?)
Simply because of work-things, I have to use Windows - All my streams were made in Windows. But, Linux is my hobby, still, though :)
You helped me to find a good way to distribute my leaves in my ivy. 😉
Thanks! Great to hear :)
Tutorial would be so nice , I love the render
U r my favourite blender teacher
Broo love u very much. Glad to see again

awesome !
Amazing Video NGL! It Was Amzaing This Effect Is Really Good ! ^^
Sorry, in my mind two things were mixed up: the story of Isaac Newton seeing an apple to fall and The Day of the Tentacle game's Washington character and the cherry tree. Total mixup in my head. This was in a way an interesting stream - very dumb wondering, but I'm still happy that I did that. The 3D stuff obviously didn't work out, but in a way I think there was some value in what I was blabbering about, if you ignore the rest. My interests are very specific. I can remember some very random things - but I also have no clue about many things one really should know about. Hmm. Whatever. Life is life.
Your animation style and content is great, so glad you put the keys in! Thank you for sharing 🙂
Major help Manu thank u MAN!
I'm glad! :) Although I should release an update to these old videos.
