Girth hitch prevents tether from dropping and keeps it secure on bad angles as well

    • @hangfreeco

You are correct, a girth hitch will do the job as well! Some people prefer that while others like just slapping a product like the tether locker on and calling it a day. There is no right way for most of the little things like this. Good luck this season!

For starters Thank you for taking the time to make this video for us DIY'ers. This video is specific to the Cmapson Predator rope as this young man has mentioned. If you try to use normal boat type rope videos, They will not work like this because this rope is so time, those other videos will not be too much help for you. Second, if you dont do this all the time, he did mention in at the end when he was milking the main sheath down to the eye and popping it, popping it is very important and if you will wear some gloves, it wont hurt. your hand as badly because you have to really pull this sheath hard.. I have made several spliced eyes for my own gear, and this is by far the best video I have seen especially specific for us saddle hunters who need to save money everywhere we can.. I will also go onto say, if you are unsure, buy his ropes already made. I encourage you to try, because learning is important, safety being more important, I would encourage you to use a rope made my a pro, in stead of falling out of a tree as your drawing back. your bow. Good luck everyone and thanks again Van for making this video. Dale

Very thorough Dale. Cant remember if we said it or not but, we do this type of work for a living and you are 100% right, if you dont do this type of thing all the time, gloves are definitely the way to go. Without gloves, its definitely going to hurt a good bit haha. Appreciate you for taking the time to watch and comment. Stay safe and good luck this season.

35 years ago that process would have been for me. Now at 61 I will stick to using three or four sticks as required. If I would have known about your items a few years ago I could have refined my system at a much low cost. Appreciate what you do for the saddle hunter. Keep them coming.

With the flat strap tether do you feel the need and how would you back that up? What is the hardware rated at? Looks allot more compact and would like to give it a try.

A backup is not needed with the tubular webbing tether. The Tether is more than strong enough on its own without needing a backup!

Do you suggest adding anything to protect the Amsteel where it goes through the small hole in the Muddy Pro?

It has not been a problem so far for us or any of our customers thus far.

I just got my item and love it... After I got it tied on.. Just one suggestion... Do a new how to video going a bit slower (maybe having some stills edited in). Not all of us do this every day LOL

We will be doing a lot of videos this offseason showing how to attach or detach or tie on or take off a lot of different products we sell. Thank you for the suggestion!
