    I use an 8mm with the ropeman 1, have no issues with it at all. I was told since it's static rope it don't stretch like dynamic rope which I wouldn't recommend using an 8mm with ropeman 1. I've been using it for 2 years like this. PS: there's a recall on one of the batches of thw ropeman 1, if you own one go to their website for more information on the batch number

    Why don’t you just use cam cleats? That would be easier than needing 2 hands to loosen the prusik. Also I think the schwabish hitch would loosen easier

    • @hangfreeco
      @hangfreeco 3 дні тому

      Hey Tony, so for one, cam cleats for 4 sticks jumps the price up significantly. IF thats not an issue, by all means, go that route. You also have to modify most sticks on the market to put them on. Second, the hitch used on the H.F.A.S. is a schwabisch hitch. For sticks with a versa button, its by far the easiest method on the market.

    Just an fyi a schwabish is directional. It only works one way. If you tie it upside down it will slip under load. If you’re not sure use a prusik.

    Vergo by trango as well as grigri 1 and grigri 2. Ever tried those. Ya might wanna have a look at those and see what ya think. Run your pres not off your hip but above you belay device that connects to same carabiner and if ya just like it on your hip add a hoop under the pres that for when you want to pull slack the ring pulls pres up so you can do it one handed. Basic paracord through hoop that rope slides through

    Your standard version for the platform is out of stock. Is there any reason you could ignore the truckers hitch prusik on the truckers hitch version and use it exactly like the standard one? I kind of like the idea of having the option to run it in the standard configuration but having the ability to cinch it down with the truckers hitch if needed.

    • @hangfreeco
      @hangfreeco Місяць тому

      This is more than possible. You can always take off the prusik and re tie it back on if you are proficient with knot work. If not, you can always just keep it out of the way and use as a standard.

    • @hangfreeco

      How we recommend doing it is using some sort of tape. Stealth tape, stealth strips. Even electrical tape works. Just wrap it on the portion of the stick that the aider will come in contact with and it should save your amsteel aiders!

    For starters Thank you for taking the time to make this video for us DIY'ers. This video is specific to the Cmapson Predator rope as this young man has mentioned. If you try to use normal boat type rope videos, They will not work like this because this rope is so time, those other videos will not be too much help for you. Second, if you dont do this all the time, he did mention in at the end when he was milking the main sheath down to the eye and popping it, popping it is very important and if you will wear some gloves, it wont hurt. your hand as badly because you have to really pull this sheath hard.. I have made several spliced eyes for my own gear, and this is by far the best video I have seen especially specific for us saddle hunters who need to save money everywhere we can.. I will also go onto say, if you are unsure, buy his ropes already made. I encourage you to try, because learning is important, safety being more important, I would encourage you to use a rope made my a pro, in stead of falling out of a tree as your drawing back. your bow. Good luck everyone and thanks again Van for making this video. Dale

      We cant tell you to use it with anything other than what is in spec for the safeguard. What you do on your own is up to you. MadRock should be coming out with a Safeguard sized for 8mm sometime this year but not sure of exact dates.
