The Reality of Being Homeless | Day 12
Today is day 12 of being homeless. Im super thankful for everyone who has gifted me or even just shown their love and support on my videos. You guys have helped me feel so uplifted throughout this journey and the love does not go unnoticed. Today, I was able to purchase a bix of donuts and share with other homeless people I came across throughout my day, which made me really happy. Nonetheless, I try my best to unwind after filming the long & awaited Why I Chose To Be Homeless video, which is coming sometime in the near future. If you haven’t already watched the How I Escaped My Old Life series, I greatly recommend watching that before the upcoming video as it prefaces a lot and gives alot more context to the overall situation. I’ve been doing it for 7 years and will show you how to get out but for income, it will suck but apply as FedEx or ups to get some type of income and look up fulfillment center. It can be glamorous too but you have to change your mindset

You gotta stop whining and being a victim. It could be worse. You could always go to a homeless shelter or friends ( if you have any).

Ima start me a UA-cam channel to show you this glorious lifestyle. Like I said I have been doing this 7 years and I live in America where we have freedom of speech. I gave you some gems to get on your feet but again if it’s too difficult you can go to a homeless shelter. That’s one solution you can go for if life is too hard out here

Maybe try a spray bottle with water in it and you can spray your fruit off before eating. In my head it makes me think you wouldn't be wasting as much water if you sprayed it on the fruit to clean it rather than pouring water over the fruit. I may be completely wrong on that but it's just my thought process.

I just wanted to say you’re incredibly resilient and brave to stay positive and level headed with your current situation Watching you and explain and just your outlook makes me feel so grateful to be in my position. I’m not going to sigh or get upset so quickly about things in my day maybe not going right because there are people in positions that have less but still find strength to continue throughout the day. Vampire diaries was such a good show! & so was AHS. I used to watch them with my Ex so I don’t watch them now because the flashbacks are too much! But I’ve subscribed and I’m wishing you the best. Also I know there is a lot of scary things in the media right now telling us otherwise. But the world does have some really good people out there. I'm glad you are finding them. You mentioned free things to do. You seem like you love to sing. Have you ever thought about going to a Karaoke bar? I use to frequent a cool karaoke bar the town I stay in. You can grab a water and just sing. It was one of the places I found a great community in.

Let us know when you have your own PO Box. There is so many 12-volt batteries/devices that you can use in your car so you can start cooking your own meals, kettles for making your own tea and coffee, a 12-volt heated blanket, etc. You'll need a good ice cooler to keep your food. I have a few items that I no longer use when I use to travel a lot in my car for work.

yess i was just about to comment that starbucks gives out free water that is filtered really well! you can also ask them to fill up bigger containers for you, at least they have when i asked. Im not homeless, but ive been low income my whole life so i always do whatever i can to save money. Good luck and keep up the amazing energy love

Just saw this. I went through a period of my life where I was basically couch surfing, and full on homelessness and/or living in my car was a very near reality. I only avoided it out of luck, and the generosity of others. Wishing you luck and prosperity in the future. You seem to have a good head on your shoulders and are very perseverant. hey! it's a new day and i hope you're well. i have to commend you for being such a productive homeless person. you shower in public showers, you spend time at the library researching work, and you're mindful of what you eat. when my partner and i were homeless, it was so easy to fall into the pattern of just feeling sad and hopeless and doing nothing all day. if i have one bit of advice for you, it's to TAKE CARE OF YOUR CAR!! even just replenishing the oil every now and then when you can will help you a lot in the long run. if you're driving a lot, your oil will run out a lot quicker. i neglected my car for so long, and then it broke down and i had no backup place to sleep. hopefully you're not in this situation for an extended period of time like i was, but that was my biggest mistake.

Food you keep will obviously depend on dietary restrictions you have however if you're looking to be healthy and homeless, I recommend keeping oranges and bananas around for fruit. Neither need to be cleaned because of the peel. They dont need to be cut with a knife or refrigerated. For hummus, if it's a real one, it should be okay unrefrigerated for a while. Real hummus just has the chickpeas, oil, tahini, garlic and lemon, no dairy. Granola bars, trail mix type stuff and nuts (though expensive) will give you carbs, fat and protein. There are also options for people who like camping called MREs. Theyre complete meals sealed in a bag you add water to. Close it back up and shake it. The packaging actually heats up and cooks the food if you ever want a hot meal. Lastly, depending on how long youre out there and what the weather is like, you might wanna invest in a hot plate that can plug into your car

one thing that was huge for me in my homeless journey was figuring out what i liked to do at work. we bounced from place to place a lot, so a lot of times when i'd find something i enjoyed, i'd have to quit soon after because we were getting kicked out of where we were staying and the next place we found is multuple hours away (this happened a good few times lol). But because of that, i've worked a lot of different kinds of jobs and i feel like i really know what i'm looking for when finding something i enjoy. my advice is to think about what you like to do; for me, i figured out i really like working alone and with my hands. dishwashing and grocery store stocking are my favorite jobs in the world. i don't know what your level of education is so you may be qualified for more than me, a college dropout, but if you figure out what kind of work puts your body and mind in synergy, that is really really important in finding your success. sorry this is so wordy lol sending good vibes ur way!! u got this!!
@@renjamin10 hi renjamin! thank u for that its not too wordy at all. its funny because i have a bachelors degree but it seems like in todays job market it doesnt mean much of anything because they look for different experience beyond just a degree, even at the entry level which is a big hurdle. i am amazed to hear ur story i can only imagine how disappointing and repetitive moving that far mustve been all those times. im proud of u for not giving up all together and to keep searching for new work despite the challenges. im trying my best to do the same, i have kept trying to think whats fun for me but i get stuck at whats fun for me but what can be a job and bring an immediate income. ill think about it from ur perspective of mind & body since i actually havent thought about it that way. i love u and appreciate u taking the time to write and show ur support 🤍 thank u :)

I'm glad you're staying hydrated. You can get dehydrated quickly in your car which leads to headaches.

I can relate to finding out what you want, that's the beauty of when you change environments. Going from road, to a shelter, I found I must have paint sets. Lol, and the cleanliness, yes. It's a rarity. And Boy, is it appreciated when something is clean. I see you growing into what it is you want, after you move on from this part which is just where you want to be. I love that along the way, your still vibrant and find joy. That will make you a light anywhere you go. ❤

@ music is therapy for me so i feel it always gives me answers i need. it allows me to get back into my body. and i saw the painting its very serene! i actually painted something exactly like it. did you just do that on ur own or did they guide you in like a group class?
@jacobbgreen That one I started off following a UA-cam video and then I went in my own direction. I tend to always customize it. 😂 I feel that way of dancing, we're made up of so much water, it's beautiful turning our voice into fluid and body.
