The leptin gene is going to be an important part our breeding and herd decisions for now on. Focusing on the leptin gene will allow our cattle to gain more weight on less feed, increase intramuscular fat (for tenderness), produce fattier milk, and all around better muscling.
What is that smell!?

Building Fence on the Bray Bringing out the Dozer to Clear Trees
They have nothing to eat in the field mate if you sow grass seed with clover you will get a good covering of grass mate ❤❤❤❤
These are in a feedlot setting, so they get free-choice hay as well as a fortified ration of 14lbs per head per day containing corn, DDG, cottonseed meal, a mineral, and a vitamin pack.
I am a big fan of planting winter forage over summer pasture. I think there are some big benefits, for sure, from doing so!
Would a hearding dog drive your cattle back to your water source and eliminate the problem. Just a thought,❤❤❤
Thank u
Cake
Don’t start a video with that line pls
Where is the horseradish and cocktail sauce??
This was the first batch we will make sure to have it the next time around!
Is it like steak fat?
Indeed, the texture is exceptionally delicate, necessitating the use of batter to enhance its flavor and provide a satisfying crunch.
Too much internet for today 😃
Don't knock it until you try it! But I do agree it is a bit strange, haha.
No apposable thumbs
Lucky to have its younger brother for backup!
When a rancher says “all” in a day’s work, he means ALL. Everything it takes to run a successful cattle operation continues to amaze me. Thanks for taking us along!
Cow got up there with the help of udders.
Haha best comment yet! Made me laugh
That’s not Billy…..that’s a heifer 😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Dam , college 😳 Students always Protesting 😂😂😂😂😂
this made me laugh so hard 😂 my goats do this sometimes 😂
Billy get down😂I love it
Thought Billy was the Goat !
If we had one he sure would claim the name! Haha we had a steer named rug-bert because we turned him into burger and kept the hide for a rug so this one got a simple name.
😊, made me laugh, dog is cute
Aww ❤❤❤❤❤
U r a spectator sport.
Home life on the American plain I miss it so much ❤
It's a great place to be!
Lol. The looks you're getting are the same ones at my house when dinner dishes need washed.
I believe I can also attest to that, both on the ranch and in the kitchen, for tasks such as washing dishes and doing laundry.
@@JCATLandandCattle Thank you for sharing. I needed to laugh today.
Great response
I just had to mention one more thing about that wildlife refuge. The areas you can go in have a big sign with a hundred things that you cannot do. You can't pick up wildflowers. You can't pick up dear shed racks. You can't do it. Damn thing other than tiptoe on the path I am so sick of environmentalists and is f***** up government I could explode🎉
Not a big fan, but in the '70s in central Minnesota, the federal government annexed hundreds of homesteaders lands that had been there for three four generations and developed the sherburne national wildlife refuge. It was a huge battle but of course the filthy f****** federal government won but every year they do control burns to keep the prairie and oak Savannah's healthy and it burns invasive species and cuts down the buckthorn. But the land is not accessible. You can't go there.
Our dogs loved Popsicles, but then, you'd need to be very close. Good luck!
maybe he likes pie better than cake
Just don’t make em like they used to
No, they do not! So much so i decided to buy a 4450 instead of a new one. I just have a soft spot for the old ones!
@@JCATLandandCattle yeah my dad just bought a 2021 John Deere 5055E🤦♂️, tryed to get him to buy the 4440 down the road but he said they’ll be too much problems, I told him they are way easier to fix but he odviously didt take my advice 😂
Who is this hunk?
He does not have a name yet!
When the cows come home for supper , they gotta have their cotton seed cake.
Yes they do! Everyone enjoys a nice dessert.
Aww, he is a sweet heart! So pretty! Dont give up!!!❤😂
Thank you!! I see him being in our herd for a long time, so the more I can interact with him the better we will be!
Use some udder balm on your hands then feed.
I've never heard of that. I might have to try it haha!
He's a pretty bull.
Thank you!! He is our best yearling bull from our first set of calves out of the Akaushi herd! We are really excited to see what he can do to improve meat quality on our commercial herd!
Lol we call those "cookies" with our cows
That look should tell you it's gonna be a few days before he lets you get too close! 😂
That is for sure! Haha
That green pasture 🤩
Spring is here and we love it!
Have you tried continuously tryin to walk past him? Like each time u pass u just not visually acknowledge getting a little closer each time. Maybe its the directness that has him wary of u.
He doesn't seem to be to afraid, just not sure what's going on! I will try that tomorrow to see how he responds
Things always come back fast after a burn. Not only do they get a shot of pot ass but nitrate and micro minerals are relised
I make a extra 20plus k a year selling cedar. But all you have is junk cedar I have stands you can cut 5 to 6 stays out of a single tree and base only be 4 inches
That would be nice to be able to do with them but unfortunately some are a little to big to burn with out a really hot fire but also to small to cut and sell stays out of! Thank you for watching!
@@JCATLandandCattle good thing you can't sell stays if you don't over charge for them people will keep you hooked up cutting almost every day. I sell about 800 a week and sell for a couple other kids total last week was 4k mostly into Texas and new Mexico. But I been doing part time for 10 years so have the clients.
@Andrew-sanders there sure is a use for timber around us! If we need a tree removed we call our neighbor who makes a living cutting post oaks for firewood and it seems he is always busy!
Looking good!
Great progress!
Cant wait to see it in a month!
Ol reliable! Cant beat a 4440!
Cant beat an old john deere
Some good looking bulls!
ohh no not the cat!!
Not a good day for the cat but it got the job done!
A cable come-a-long is a much safer way of tightening the barbed wire. I typically set both H-braces, tie and steeple the top wire to the first brace, string out to the second H-brace, cut long and comealong to the front end loader behind it. Get the elevation, knock in a few steeples, then tie the wire on the back end. Just a suggestion though! Keep up the good work
More content of the fence soon!
It will be coming real soon stay tuned!
Got to love the green up
The cattle love it for sure and so do we!
Go ghon Deere whole day
57! My best guess
That is a good guess! Hopefully we can get that and then some!
He looked at you and said no idk how this comment ended up in the replies😂
You Better Remove The Plastic ,They will eat it
I did. He just jumped up there before I could get off the tractor!
