find a better car. rare back seat i think they called it a swarb
I only bought the car for the interior, the rest of it is probably rubbish apart from the engine and the gearbox
The doors and bonnet are perfectly aligned.
Yes, that's something you don't see very often isn't it.
No, regardless of they are.
look forward to this build, Monumental task but we have seen your previous work so to be honest i have no doubt it will be mint
Yes it most certainly will be mint, and thanks for your confidence.
Wow Brave! I need my GT2 MK2 restoring....if your interested in doing the work?
Possibly
This great, I have a MK2 GT6 that needs restoration work, is this something you could take on?
It all depends on what exactly you want, doing how much you're willing to spend and how far away you live from the Merseyside area where I am
Wow, I'm guessing that was very unexpected, but a great result nonetheless! 👍👍
Yes it was! Great result
Sounds good ! All ways nice to fire up an oldie! 👍 I've also got a very usable bonnet top if required , Bruce
Whereabouts are you just in case I want to come and have a look at the bonnet and doors?
Sounds sweet!!
Yes, it does. Should sound better when I get a new exhaust on it.
Sounds pretty sweet!
I think so too!
Never judge a book by its cover springs to mind !
Exactly
It is Halloween week........so I shouldn't be surprised that you've found a Zombie car!
it will be a nice car sooner than you think
Blimey Peter 😮 That's one of the worst condition cars I've ever seen. That's going to keep you extremely busy.
yes keep watching this space
wow she lives Peter😄😄👍👍😉😉😉😉 just the small part of the body now, good luck regards Kev
that's very nearly all taken care of
Amazing ! But not surprising . Did l see a flicker of flames underneath the carbs? 😅
No flames under the carbs but lots of petrol
Now, to build a whole car around it!
Not a problem watch this space
@@peterdunne8107 you make it seem so easy! Looking forward to watching
Love it Saving a classic Zoom zoom
It's a good hobby keeps me out of the ale house
@@peterdunne8107 you have very good metal working skills, I enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing. Cheers
The tyres aren't too bad either, they're only flat at the bottom 😂
And they're not even on the
Sounds good! Looks questionable. 😅
It certainly does! Doesn't it.
@@peterdunne8107😊
Now that’s promising, almost already for a lap round the block 🏁😎👍
It will need a bit of spit and polish first
Hi Peter, Nice to see that the engine is alive 😂. Now tell us where you are hiding a useable frame and body… Looking forward to the next episode. Cheers
All will be revealed sometime soon
Hi peter,at least santa will not be short of ideas of what to get you 🤣👍 cant wait to see your progress of this great car !.
We shall see🎅
Right time of year to start a horror! It’s good to save these cars for future generations!
Couldn't agree more
Do they produce a heritage shell for these? Free up a lot of your time if they did.
I don't believe they do
My god, good luck😢
Thanks
could do with a acid dip
I was thinking skip dip
o my god
😇
Do you buy these to restore or are they customers cars? cant wait for the videos and seeing it in original condition.
Yes, I get more pleasure from restoring them than driving round in them
😮😮😮. Ah, I know what you’re up to. Make an ideal donor 👍👍
Maybe
Strewth!
😄
Hi there Pete fantastic job on the vitesse very impressed , I see your next project the gt6.... I have a pair of very good original doors if you might be interested Bruce
Sounds great! May be in touch
Good lord! When was that last on the road?
1991, since then it sat a overgrown garden
Really looking forward to it!
As am I
I had a Valencia blue GT6 Mk 2, which needed various bodywork repairs done, but nothing like this red project car you will be restoring. This will make an interesting series & I'm looking forward to see how you tackle the extensive rot on this car.....good luck!
Good luck, not needed just lots of time and money
I'm really surprised this car is considered a viable project. Having said that, my only restoration is replacement wiper blades..........
Well, as it happens, the wiper arms and blades on this car seem to be the only thing which have not corroded away
Jeese Peter thats going to take some resurrecting🤔🤔😉😉👍👍😰😰 atb Kev
It's all in a days work, or should I say several hundred days
@@peterdunne8107 i'll be with you in spirit everyday👍👍👍👍
@@peterdunne8107 i'm with you all the way in spirit Peter, can't wait!!
Jesus Christ. That music was fitting, a car that far gone deserves a terrifying track like that. Good luck!
I'm sure my son will be very pleased with your comment thank you very much.
Holy Crap! I would consider this a lost project. But i will be following you all the way. Good luck, i think you'll need it.
I do have another body shell, which I very nearly finished restoring. Don't tell no one🤣🤣🤣
Hi Peter, I hope you had your tetanus shot already, You mentioned earlier that you have another bodyshell so the restoration will be a lot easier, still looking forward seeing you busy and loving saving another Triumph, good times for you and us...very interested in your colour choice...
Oh dear, you've gone and let the cat out the bag , All would be revealed in future videos I think the colour will probably be signal red
@@peterdunne8107 Hi Peter, I think you yourself told your followers when you picked this car up and tried to start it up you mentioned at that time you were gonna use another bodytub... You even mentioned you were possibly gonna keep the roof and some other bits of the bodyshell...I'm a good follower and listen very good to the comments you make in the video's, I think your cat is since a long time out of the bag hahahaha
Oh my, you definitely have a challenge there. You have the skills to get it done 😎👍
I try Thanks 👍 looking forward to doing this one.
Well, at least there shouldn't be any nasty surprises with 'hidden rot'... 😅I very much look forward to following this series.
Don't be too, sure we haven't seen underneath the seats yet or the chassis🤣🤣🤣
@@peterdunne8107 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Really looking forward to this one Peter, a walk in the park for a man like you.
It will be a lot easier than people may think
I have made an extensive list of all the good bits that you have to work with... 1. The Glass 2. ....... errrrr .. Nope.. I got nothing! Thats It. OMG .. Good luck. This will try your patience. I look forward to seeing the work and transformation. I would love to know how many Man (Peter) hours it takes
I look forward to seeing the finished project, but I am confident it will look good as the day it came out of the factory
@@peterdunne8107 oh no... I think it will be better with decent paint and doors and a bonnet that actually fits with decent, parallel, panel gaps 👍👍👍
Hi Peter, you have a heart like a lion, but as always I'm dying to see your work please do as many videos a possible
Will do my best
That Tin Worm must have been Ravenous!
It may look like I dragged it up from the bottom of the pond It was lying in someone's overgrown garden
OMG. Good luck with this! I’ll be watching.
Thanks 🤣
New shell I hope if not I will pray for you sanity.
🤣🤣
Hi Peter. My goodness ! Now that's a challenge but the roof apeared to be sound . So l guess most panels are available ? How about the tailgate ,are mk3's the same ? Look foward to this Peter and that Vitesse looked superb . Well done . Did you do that Vitesse else where ? Cheers !
I think you should look again at the roof. I have other videos of the Vitesse click on the link below ua-cam.com/play/PLg9xIg_h_1YW1Hc59-Y1OgiGR7fMXu0ju.html&si=8uFwYiiJTLtpR9gn
@@peterdunne8107 Hi Peter. I saw the video's on the Vitesse and it cerrainly didn't look like your normal venue . Regarding the GT6 roof are you suggesting l should visit SpecSavers ! 🤣🤣🤣
I can not imagine attempting a restoration of a car in this state! The cost of this restoration must exceed the value of that car manyfold. However, I will follow closely!
It won't be too difficult as you will find out
Well at least the glass looks OK. Can't wait to follow this restoration 👍🏻😊
You and me both!
🤣🤣😄😄👍👍
My thoughts exactly. There's not much left to save, except the glass.
😮
You're a brave man . following
It won't be too difficult as you will find out
