Tech Tips: Check Your Current Transformer Ground Fault Wiring
While in the field, CBS Field Services uncovered this incorrectly configured current transformer (CT). Making sure the earth conductor is bonded to the neutral on the source side of this zero sequence CT ensures that ground fault current is not returned through the CT and ZEROed out, so it will cause a current pickup and trip. The customer confirmed all 33 floors have NEVER in 25 years had a ground fault trip.
