This tutorial was the only way I could get my PS2 slim to read burned discs. It didn’t work at first, but after replacing the laser it reads the burned discs with no problem. For anyone with trouble, a replacement laser might be the key. Great video!

if i wanna do this as semi back up since i got a slim that might scratch discs, if i pop in a homeburned dvd.r of game, does it automatically load the save i already had on the legit copy?

I can't get this to work on my 70004 for some reason, system is set to English, I burned DVD Rs, I can run the homebrew itself but somehow games wont start, is this because of my dvds?

i tried this and it works, but im encountering that my game likes to lag and stutter when playing cutscenes. im not sure if its to the discs, or that ive gotten the games from cdromance, or that my laser is failing, though the last time i used the console was 2018, and ive just cleaned the dust out, also the discs im using are traxdata bc that was the only thing available in my vicinity

Hey, download and game set up works fine, the only problem is the game doesn’t take any input from my keyboard. I’m not planning on using a DualShock controller so I skipped the DualShock setup. And after trying to play with the keyboard once and no input being taken from my keyboard (couldn’t get past ‘New Game Select’ and demo footage would play as I attempted to select an option) I tried to set key binds for the Sony PlayStation controller input in the systems setting. I successfully assigned key binds by they still aren’t taken as an input by the game. Any advice? Thank you for making this vid btw man!!!

Very good video! This worked perfectly for me to burn Silent Hill 2! Unfortunately only for Silent Hill 2. Until now i tested it with Tony Hawk's Proskater 3 and Fifa 14 and WWE SVR07. When i boot up Tony Hawk's pro Skater 3, it wont let me pass the loading screen. For the case of Fifa and WWE SVR i just get a black screen. I used the same dvd-r's (brand: maxwell) and downloaded all iso's from the same website. Unfortunately i cant test more at the moment because i ran out of dvdr's xD Any suggestions? And another question i have is, if this patcher works for ps1 games on cdr's as well?

So I burned one of these discs for COD 3, and it boots, but the cutscenes lag really bad and each one second is extended to 5. Anyways to fix this?

Hello, I Have Ps2 FAT my console model is SCPH-50003 and dvd player is 3.00E I installed gta vice city and bully in dvd r with img burn doing all these steps but when i inserted the disc it says "Please Insert A Playstation or Playstation 2 format disc" what do i do?

So you can run 16 players just on 4 GameCubes? A lot of other sources describe that 8 consoles are needed to reach 16 total players.

I don't know how to use mega, I extracted the files with 7-zip and it worked but when there wa the part of opening mednaffe it said that a path wasn't installed or something like that, the thing I need is at the start, how did you saved the file with mega?

Wish I could play this game on an emulator 😭. Currently playing this on my ps2 with a hdmi converter and it does the game no justice.

x16 work just fine on original PS2 model. But on slim, it is unreadable. Highest x2 speed for slim and it works without glitch
