From Stone to Foam: The Fascinating Story Behind Your Pillow
This is really good video and the clicks are fine. They make sense. I had no idea that these insane pictures had so much depth to them. Maybe Monty Python had a point?
You make sense about this
My favourite Dracula was and still is Christopher Lee, He was born to play that role, He had the looks and the height, He was 6ft 6in tall 😀😀🧛♂️🧛♂️
This was a nice overview.
I think Gary Oldman's Dracula is the best, but for me it's primarily a story about tragic love and the violent sensuality of his character.
Very interesting !
Forrest Whitaker's depiction of Idi Amin in The Last King of Scotland.
I would watch that again. Been a while I saw it. Thanks for watching the video.
And in our real world we're stuck with Donald Trump.
the idea of knights fighting snails and slugs might only be funny to those who eat fast food hamburgers. but for those who could have a snail infestation in their garden, such a war did not seem funny, especially in a time when food security was an everyday reality. today's scientists, discussing mysterious drawings, live in a world of pink ponies farting flowers...
This is 🔥. The music choice, the characters depicted and the overall intent of the video. Weldone 👏
Thanks for the kind words! Glad that the effort I put into the music resonated with you. Thanks for watching the video.
The naked woman riding the, um, "flying animal" at 2:14 was interesting.
Flying animal indeed 🌝
Bela Lugosi The best
Well done. Good video
Thanks for watching.
Very interesting video, I really enjoyed it. Still, I kind of felt that you missed one subject. I’m of course talking about True Evil in cinema. Sure Hannibal, Cthulhu, and the Xenomorphs are scary, but at the end of the day they’re fictional characters that aren’t real. True Evil on the other hand is considered by many to be far scarier. Not just because it really happened but because it could happen again and in some cases it can happen to anyone. A perfect example of True Evil is Evan Peters’ outstanding portrayal of Jeffery Dahmer. Aside from being a serial killer, cannibal, and necrophiliac, JD possessed a terrifying trait found in many humans who are pure evil. That being that he was a wolf in sheep’s clothing. While in public, he appeared to be a normal human being. But once he lured you in, this true predator would shed its skin and devour you (literally). This adds an additional layer of fear because it means that anyone you encounter could secretly be evil and you wouldn’t know it until it was too late. I’m probably going to ripped on by some environmentalists but True Evil doesn’t always apply to humans. Let’s face it, every person at some point in their life has feared being killed by an animal. However that fear usually diminishes when we realize our dominance over nature and the fact that unlike humans, wild animals aren’t exactly known to be evil. But what if one was? What if evil found its way into the heart of an animal and it began killing people, a real life man eater if you will. How terrifying would that be if nature turned the tables on us and reminded us that at the end of the day, we’re at its mercy? Well there’s been dozens of cases throughout history of just that happening with just about each case given a cinematic treatment. My personal favorite amongst these man eater films is The Ghost and the Darkness. It’s about the Tsavo Man Eaters. They were two lions who went rogue and went on a killing spree, taking the lives of dozens of railroad workers in 1898 East Africa. While some of the movie is fictional, most of it really happened. Seriously, go watch the movie then watch the History Buffs UA-cam video on it. It’s amazing how much of that terrifying story really happened. I digress though. My point is that True Evil Cinema is possible the scariest for it is real and can exist anywhere.
This is an amazing comment. And you are right! human evil like Dahmer is definitely the scariest. Thanks for the History Buffs recommendation. Will check the video out.
My first answer is kind of a cop out, real human evil is what scares me the most. But it's not because real evil can hurt me and made up ones can't, it's because fiction has rules, reality doesn't. So when you watch a horror movie or thriller, if you can figure out the rules you have an idea what is coming. Now for fictional evil, I think it's the kind represented by It Follows. Slow. Relentless. Hunting you, driving you. You know it's there. No matter what you do you can't fight it or escape it, it just slowly grinds you down dragging your suffering out until in the end you lose.
"Fiction has rules, reality doesn't" 🔥 Thanks for watching the video. 🤗
I like the way you summed up Dracula! It gave me an idea. Dracula is a path into very select emotions that are laid down (plotted) in a deterministic way. Dracula can make that path work. Not many others can. Maybe no other...
I feel like Dracula/Nosferatu because I am 34 years old virgin and got rejected by over 2k women and all ok almost all 70% find me ugly even tho I am not and outsiders think I have plenty women. Also I am beeing complimented as charming, authentic, educated and well spoken, but women cant overcome looks. I am a 6,5-7/10 but still the ugliest of all humankind for all women. I am NOSFERATU NO LOVE NO CHANCE NEVER BE I HAVE TO EMBRACE ALL PAIN AND SUFFER FOR ETERNITY OR WIN BY USING MY POWER OF PAIN INTO STRENGHT AND TAKING REVENGE ON HUMANKIND BY CONQUERING IT
My first and favourite Dracula: Frank Langella, 1979
Batman DEFINITTLY not a vampire 😂
😉
Definitely hans landa is the best!
I think so too! His introduction is my favorite. I should have made that the first character introduction in the video. Maybe I make a whole video on his character. Christoph Waltz was amazing. Thanks for watching.
@@horsehip you must sir! I Will be waiting to watch it thanks
My favorite Hammer's Horror of Dracula
Hammer Horror’s Dracula rocks!! Christopher Lee was an amazing Count Dracula. Thanks for watching.
You left out Dracula 2000.
Oooops.. I missed this one. Thanks for watching. :)
Iron man is a hero,
Of course!
"When we idolize flawed protagonists, we risk romanticizing their bad behaviour" (7:48) BRILLIANT. I love this explanation! I really enjoyed the way you built around this core idea. It's nice to have a roster of movie protagonists that are morally perfect (Superman) to grey (Jack Sparrow) in cinema, but I find that the Superman type is becoming less and less common in the mainstream. But the thing is.... you can make people under the Superman type just as interesting and "human". Perfect morals does not equal boring. Especially if you have an antagonist / opposition that brings challenges to their morals, you can still have a story that unfolds that is equally (if not more) entertaining as morally grey characters we can "relate to" more. Everyone wishes they could be like Aragorn, but we all know we are more of a Boromir. Heroes in the Superman sense shouldn't be us, they should be the type of person we wish to be when we look up to them. Glad I found your channel, this video is fantastic! Well wishes from Canada.
Really glad you enjoyed the video. LOVE LOVE your comment. And yes, perfect morals does not equal boring... Thanks for watching. 😊
I love count Dracula The king of all vampires in monster movies Can you do the evolution of godzilla (1954-2024)
If your comment gets up to 10 likes, I will add make a video on the evolution of Godzilla. Thanks for watching the video. :)

Interesting 🤔
The editing and theme is great, but maybe your accent is throwing people back. You commit some spelling mistakes and your voice is unattractive. I don't pretend to hate on you, I just wanna let you know this problem so you are able to fix it
Hellooo

Reminds me of Dr. Lynne Kelly’s research into ancient memory methods
Your videos are very educative. Exposes one to many things. Thank you. Flying in a plane that is faster than sound, sounds flattering but also scary. Wonder how the challenge of cost will be tackled because traveling with the regular plane is expensive as it is with the present economy.
Impressive. The idea behind the innovation of the Concorde is totally unmatched
The idea of a supersonic plane is quite a great one hoping the effect it causes to the atmosphere in terms of emission of dangerous gases can be solved
A lot of the monks kept gardens. Rabbits and snails eat the gardens, cats and dogs help fight them. But there are always more snails and rabbits!
There is truly so much that is lost to us and we will never be able to understand. But the mystery has its own beauty. My favourie enigmatic motive is The Green Man, also known as a foliate head. It is found in medieval architecture.
A lot of history wasn't recorded or lost to time forever. Time Travel is our last resort to find out what we've lost. Lol. The foliate head is cool af! (I googled it). 😆 Thanks for watching the video.
I came here after watching your marginalia video which I love, by the way. Thank you for this wonderful look at how close this man was in his predictions.
Thanks for watching both videos. Glad you enjoyed the marginalia video. :)
I remember as a child seeing the Egyptian head rests and I couldn't understand how they could use them as pillows. I had no idea there was such history behind something I think of as so simple and take for granted.
There is usually a deep history behind everyday objects we take for granted. Humanity is just the culmination of hundreds of millions of years of growth. A lot of history in there. Thanks for watching the video. Glad you enjoyed it.
2:14 was obviously drawn by a fifteen year old illuminator.
😆😆
Sorry, but i couldn’t keep listening through the clicks.
Yes, would have been so much better if they had not been added, they spoil it.
:(
Human Memory is Fallible. Hold my Quoran.
All will end, even that.
'The Name Of The Rose' footage seemed very apt here 👌
It's just medieval memes
Exactly!!! Humour is consistent across the ages
Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed the video
Great video! I've been sketching weird Medieval art lately as part of a drawing club and am glad to learn more about the marginalia.
Thanks for watching. Happy you enjoyed it. :)
I get It, books need Guterburg
I subscribed after watching your Marginalia video. I was impressed by your analysis of the mindset of the doodling scribes. Good luck with the channel, I will be cheering for your success.
I would read up on the research. Thanks for watching the video. :)
