Second part of my short flight. Unsure why the video file breaks into 2 parts, but if watched the first part, here is the landing. And again for more information on the aircraft, please have a look at: www.t6harvard.com/
Flight in Harvard 'Wacky Wabbit' 27 July 2024 Part 1

Unedited video from a short flight in Harvard 4 G-BJST from Old Sarum. Years ago I was asked by the owner to create a Middle Eastern RAF scheme for the aircraft and so came up with this as AJ841. As the airframe was then currently based at Duxford, '841 served with a Squadron that was at one time based at Fowlmere a few miles down the road. With wonderful help from Shane Clayton of the CHAA in ...

Video clip courtesy of The Departure Lounge Podcast, first aired on 23 October 2022. This section is purely my input into the video where I talk about my role in the Museum, the wonderful work done by the volunteers, and then why I think it should not be forced to close at the end of the month. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time working there, made some wonderful friends, and been glad to have b...

Promo video from Rich Cooper/COAP Online, telling the plight of the closure of this little Museum that does so much for the County in which it resides. Besides being a popular Tourist Attraction (the TripAdvisor awards and reviews speak for themselves), it provides educational needs for local schools and colleges. The 1-11 is now preserved at the Cornwall Aviation Heritage Centre at Newquay Airport. Built for British Airways as G-BGKE, it later joined the Defence Research Agency in 1991 and was retired from service in 2013. It was the last 1-11 in fly in British skies.

One of only six built, here we see David Gilmour flying his ultra-rare SNJ-7C Bu 90678/G-BRVG at North Weald, with Anthony Hutton in the back seat. The SNJ-7 was the last in the line of the T-6 family and was akin to the USAF's T-6G program, but they arrived in service too late and were soon replaced by the T-34B Mentor. This is the only known example still to be airworthy. Glimpse at the end o...

I was standing on top of the revetment....got a very close view as they hurtled past! 👍👍👍
Outstanding .... how things have changed, thank you for sharing
9:05....Plonker :)
I saw Gary play one of the best gigs i've ever seen earlier this year (2024) so i did laugh about the 50 year old still singing comment. Here's to many more excellent years Gary!
Wow
We met gary at Duxford. He was more shy than us.
So he's now 66 (2024) so well over being 50! But so much better on stage than he was at 21!
I never tire of watching this interview, I always giggle when he says he won't be singing at 50. Love you, Gary 🖤
Look Mummy, there's an airplane up in the sky!
Amazing footage - please someone get it digitally restored! I would love to know some of those locations, presumably Shoreham (and Eastleigh?). Where is the large grass airfield with the substanial hangars on the far side? They look like bomber command hangars? And the big blister hangar? And the Wot taking off from the apron! And the Siai-Marchetti Riviera taxying backwards? Reverse pitch prop!! I gess it would be handy for water taxying, I'd love to see one of those fly nowadays - they still look modern. And G-ACZP, what became of the airframe after it mishap in Madrid in 58? How great wold that be to restore?! Happy daze!
Laughing my arse off at his final comments 😂😂😂
Bloody hope he is still going, I'm seeing him next month 😂
Goodbye Blue Sky
To think just 10 years later the poor thing is facing the scrap man due to Cornwall Councils absolutely despicable short-sightedness.
Little bounce but that's a hell of a lot more plane than a Cessna 150..
My father did some aerobatic flying in a Gladiator no 2304. He was a flying instructor at the time & flew many different aircraft. This would have been in march april 1943. I'm pretty sure he was based at RAF Upavon at the time. Hope this is of some inerest. Best wishes .
The Proctuka!😮😂
3:58 didn't age well lmao Forreal tho glad he is still doing music
Wots at Hildon le Nobel.Avro 504 at Blackbushe and the Turbo Chipmunk at Shoreham ?.part of British Aviation long since gone.
Well l saw the infamous blue Spitfire ... but that first one was a single seater at Eastleigh in 1961 before it went to Canada
Magical memories more please
Good grief! That was amazing! Like staring through an airfield fence during the war, as I often did at Farnborough growing up during the sixties and seventies 😊
He was not new wave
Love gorgeous Gary so much forever
Gorgeous gary bless him
The flamboyant aircraft are assembly ships. Painted high vis so planes could see it to get into formation. Much like a pace car. The enemy plane formation could be increased for realism to a staggering amount.
I've always fancied a spin in a 2000. I've been in an open cockpit autogyro with Chris Jones. Lots of fun
Gary gets better as he gets older, sounding amazing, looking amazing, loving his songs
Dr Urmston in Currie Wot near the end
It's sad he left piloting because there had been so many deaths among his piloting friends and mentors, and because of urging from Gemma (her fear of losing him), but ultimately it's probably for the best. It took far too long, but a return to Wembley Arena this year proves he's still got the musical chops, even at 64. I finally saw him live this year, in Austin, TX. My first Gary Numan show. He'd dropped off the radar here, for me all the way in Texas, when I was a little kid in the early 80's, so I didn't know he still toured, let alone with new albums. I'm so glad I "rediscovered" him and his incredibly long back catalogue, most of which I hadn't the foggiest idea existed... and am still trying to acquire -- some of the albums are hard to find, like the ones originally released on Numa Records. Here's to Gary's return to charts, big stages... and finally getting into my playlists. 😂 I even recently read both autobiographies and joined his Patreon. Now I wait for the follow-up to Intruder and the subsequent tour.
Dang, he landed that thing as good as an Ace.! Wonder if David ever flew a Spitfire or Mustang
Flew his own Mustang N51RR
Martin, this is utterly fantastic! I’m grinning like I rode in one of the 2.111s - what a truly marvellous piece of film! Oh to have someone restore it and add some sound…
nice videos.
Gary just turned 64, and is still bringing down the house. He is in great shape.
According to the book about the making of the film, the B-25 was known as the "Psychadelic Monster".
This really is incredible to see, no matter how many times you’ve watched it!
I met Gary Numan at RAF Swanton Morley air show in about 1993. On practice day. He came over and spoke to us on the arena. (I was in the motorbike display team). The man is an absolute gentleman. We didn't realise who he was at first. My wife was changing our little toddler. She handed him a nappy full of poo to get rid of. He took it without question and put it in the nearest bin. She was mortified when she found out it was her teen idol she handed a fully loaded nappy to.
So glad to have happened on this channel. It takes me right back to my childhood in the 50's at Maylands Aerodrome in Perth, W.Australia, flying with my ex-RAAF uncle in the Royal Aero Club's Tigers, Chipmunks and Austers. I still have his log books and have been pleased to see that one or two of the aircraft in which we flew are still on the Australian register. Thanks very much Martin.
Many thanks for sharing this piece of film history.
Hi Martin, Fabulous footage. I would be very interested in talking to you about the footage of Eastleigh and the Hampshire Aeroplane Club as I am trying to research the history of the airport.
I owned G-APNT from 1988 -1999 . How extraordinary to see moving colour images of Airymouse ,(as she was later named by Harald Penrose ) rather than grainy black and white photos. The aircraft is currently owned by Steve Slater CEO of the LAA, I wonder if he has seen this?
Looked like Stockbridge
Very rare, even for 1959. Nice to watch. I got into the business some 10 years later.
Fantastic footage. You realise the logistics behind the film
As at September 2021, You can still get flights in a DH Tiger Moth &/or a DH Dragon Rapide (and several other increasingly tasty (but more expensive)) aeroplanes out of Duxford.
Simplesmente 💯 sacional
Awww I just love Gary. 🖤🖤🖤
IMHO the most beautiful of all of the inter war biplane fighters.
The biplane 'G-APWT' may still exist in the U.S..
Fascinating footage of a bygone era . A large percentage unknown to me . Those Buchons were interesting and would reappear in a later film ! Thankyou.
That Stuka was a converted Proctor for the Battle of Britain film
Thankfully he was wrong and is still doing the music; he’s better than ever! Go Gary!
I actually thought I was going to get a look at how the Sutton harness works. Then-cut away. There must be some secrecy around that particular piece of kit. Anyway-Great Film.
I thought the gun sight would have been secret ? I loved that final shot beautiful.
