Five pounds!!! AMAZING
Thanks yes bit of a bargain.
@@space99dude 😂 It looks amazing! I thought $1000 from the look at the first milliglance. Where are great watch designers now?
Yes I agree very interesting case shape and the crystal that's faceted with the strap which reflects the hexagonal style of the case. Although it is an inexpensive Swiss part Hong Kong assembled watch. So not of great value be certainly an interest in looking watch.
Great purchase! It looks like £1000 watch and what a beautiful strap! :)
@@vipeton.8927 Thanks
Very helpful, but you can cut this video down to ten minutes or less. Just show the preliminary matching of the bezel insert, the dipping in acetone, the removal of the old insert and cleaning of the bezel, the fitting of the new insert, and voila, Bob’s your uncle, as you Brits like to say. Leave out the OCD stuff.
@@MrKitzelman Thanks for the advice 👍
I wanted to let you know that I modded a Pagani Design PD 1758 GMT, with a blue map dial and a bezel insert that had cities and tiny illegible numbers too small for these senior eyes. I tried nontoxic golf grip solvent a la Marc, didn’t work, then non-acetone nail polish remover, ditto. Finally, I let it sit overnight in 91% isopropyl alcohol. I was able to move it a bit, then donned nitrile gloves which were grippy and it rotated off. The only wrinkle was that I installed the adhesive ring in the bezel channel rather than onto the insert. I sent you an email of the finished mod, hope you get it.
@@MrKitzelman glad you managed to swap your bezel out.

@@MettaLovingKindness Thanks 👍
maaaaan... 5 minutes video without watch, just to show the box and the papers.? NOONE CARES ABOUT BOX AND PAPERS ON A 70$ WATCH! just show us the watch! Also noone said bezel is ceramic on blue-red color. just on blue-black
@@avgoustinos you will be surprised people like this stuff. Box papers even if a cheaper watch. The advert said ceramic. But I had a feeling it was going to be aluminium . Thanks for watching.
Hi, you shouldn’t pull the crown on quartz watches while you’re not wearing them. This puts tension on the mechanism and causes the battery to leak over time. Also, do you have an ultrasonic cleaner to clean metal watch bands? I recently got one and you wouldn’t believe how disgusting watch bands are untill you clean them 😅
I didn't know that although I've had the crown pulled on my Seiko for a couple of years and it's been fine so far saves the battery. Watches usually have a plastic tab on them when they are new to stop the crown being pressed in to save the battery before purchase. But I hear what you're saying .. I don't have an ultrasonic although I find warm water with some washing-up liquid pretty much gets all the dirt out especially if you use a toothbrush to get in between the links.. and it is amazing how much dirt comes out these old straps.
Hey,bezel of my pd 1662 became hard to move Can you tell me what’s the problem
You probably got some dirt stuck in there. You could try a little spray of WD-40 around the bezel edge give it a good turn maybe that will lubricate it up .
That's a cool looking watch and yes, the strap looks good too and is a keeper. Wow, £7.50 - you certainly have an eye for a bargain, well done!
Thanks. There's many watches I bid on but don't win but occasionally I get lucky
Looks like fake ,the real para water has different dial
@@seanwidezki it's definitely not a fake.nobody is faking old citizens.
@@space99dude Is the seller and watch shipped from India ?
@@seanwidezki no it's from UK. Definitely legitimate. The movement is spot on everything everything is correct and good quality. There's many pictures of this dial on Google. They are not worth a fortune anyway.. the early ones were called Parawater then they were stamped water resistant. So this is an early one.. if you watch the video you can see the movement is superb. Not some Indian junk.
can you please share the insert information from Ali BABA. I have the same watch
a.aliexpress.com/_EI0fPdJ
Another nice vintage watch saved, This watch looks very similar to the Enicar Sport, Buren Grand Prix and Gotham proof line of watches, I would say it's a mid to late 40's model, The only way to save the case is to have it stripped and re-finished unless you can find a good case and dead movement donor,
Nice find, the movement is an ETA 2782 CD revision, Jewels: 17/21/25 · Lift Angle: 52° · Power Reserve: 47 hrs · Frequency: 21600 BPH · Type: Automatic · Period used: ~1970 · Diameter: 26 mm, The reason behind the winder being stiff is because you are also trying to move the auto winding rotor when winding the watch, later revisions put a winder lock on the stem so as to stop people winding manually and damaging the movement.
That's really interesting thanks for the information.. and thanks for watching.
The bezel on the red one is aluminum. The other colors are ceramic. Nice review.
I did exactly the same thing. And obviously in addition to having lost the time adjustment via the button on the crown, the date window is totally misaligned. This led me to hate my watchmaker and the watch itself. I strongly advise against doing this type of work but rather leave it non-functioning as a historical piece, waiting very patiently over the years to find an original caliber in working order or in need of restoration.
As you can see I still have the original movement. But the Watch was just sitting in my watch collection it's so much nicer to be able to actually wear it which I really enjoying. Yes the date window isn't exactly spot on but that's a minor inconvenience the Watch still looks great. I don't think most people would even notice unless you look very closely. So I'm happy I did mine because now it's a watch I can wear on occasion. And I do like to wear my vintage watches not just keep them in their cases all the time. Thanks for watching .
You think it's wise to purchase these? i mean will it last long enough?
That's a very philosophical question. All I can say is mine is still working but I do not wear it that often. So I couldn't say with any degree of certainty how long it will last. However for such a low price it's not too much of a gamble. Depending on your finances of course. I would always recommend spending more money to buy something like a Seiko Invicta or Casio etc because that will be better quality and last much longer more than likely. Thanks for watching. Good luck if you do decide to buy the watch. I'm just remember the bracelet is too large for many people even after the links have been taken out. I had to resort to physically bending the links apart to remove additional links that were welded.
👍👍Superb! I've just bought a pristine *Pulsar Y563-6039 Quartz NON -RUNNER* - Would love to fit a new Pulsar/Seiko Y563A quartz movement, but don't know how to source one (UK)??

Bang up job mate! Minus the crown issue, that's pretty sick he could swap out the movement for a generic that fit perfectly. How'd he learn to do that. Awesome!
@@ForestWoodworks Thanks yes it's a good fit. Really pleased. Thanks for watching.
Great to see you got the Omega working. Well worth it beautiful watch. Interesting the replacement movement.
Thank you yes I think it was worth the money. It's a shame the crown isn't on straight but I don't want to mess with it it's doing the job. If I had the proper tools I could have probably attempted it myself with the right movement. But I still think it was worth the investment because a working watch is better than a non-working one even if it's got an aftermarket movement. And I really like it I've enjoyed wearing it a couple of times now and I will definitely wear it in the future. Although maybe just for evenings out because I don't want to put any more wear on that gold plating.
Do you have a link for the bezel?
My grandfather got one of these during WW2, it looks nearly identical but has a "ROMAN" branding. It was serviced a few years ago and runs like a top. I recently regulated my Ball Trainmaster Automatic to +0.3secs/day, so I am confident I can care for it properly.
@@PatJamesRicketts that's really interesting. Amazing that is still going. Sounds like you're going to keep it going for many more years. I think you are right I think this is a 1940s watch. Possibly military. I've not heard of the Roman brand. There were so many good quality micro brands around at that time that aren't around anymore. Thanks for watching.
@@space99dude No problem, thank you for sharing!
I've always wanted one of those, can they be serviced? That watch is stunning.
@@barryfleischer5167 I'm not sure. They were designed to be non serviceable I believe. This one is still running perfectly. Hope you track one down.
I have a very similar watch. Its made by Welsbro. The dials are almost identical. The case is all stainless steel. It became my every day wearer until the mainspring broke. You've inspired me to have it serviced. I even found the original scissor expansion bracelet Ebay. I believe these watches date back to the late 1940's. I really love the no nonsense " Cafeteria Clock" dial. Great video. You did a wonderful job of rescuing it. I've spent many and hour looking spring bars that blasted off into space.
@@barryfleischer5167 😂 yes those spring bars definitely have some life left in them. I think you are right, late 40s as so similar to my Tudor Oyster 1947 . It's the screw down case back that I thought was maybe later. They do have a great look. Glad I inspired you to get yours serviced. Thanks for watching.
yeah nice little watch and tidy clean movement 😊 Possibly radium on the dial and hands though.

@@TheGhostOfOldham yes plating is definitely pitted. Still looking pretty cool though. Shows its age. Thanks for watching.
Not being funny but if you see green it's a bag of shit mate 👍not worth anything.. Same thing happens to the watches you get off the lucky lucky men 😅 I have a 1948 omega seamaster I inherited from my late grandfather that could never go green.. Usualy if a watch goes green and crusty its due to the plating being damaged and exposing the poor alloy metal underneath the plating causing oxidation and can be quite toxic! Trying g to polish it or clean it up won't work for you.. Hope this helps 👍
Unfortunately all this green was gunk from the previous owner. It all came off very easily. If you watch my video you will see the result it's nice and clean looking now and working. 😃 Thanks for watching

@@space99dude well it’s great dude, I totally agree the others were babble. Your video is golden.
I dont know why, i came across this video. Im not sure, if youre aware of it, but loctite wasnt made for steamy heat. Heat will neutrolize the ability of loctite to secure the thread. So using loctite in a hot environment like the exhaust is practicly useless. In most applications the right ammount of torque is the best thread locker. But im still glad, that you solved your problem 😄👍.

Amazing watch. Probably you need new movement. Nonetheless, ultimate 'old money' watch.
Check j.smith trimmer in Swansea. He does whole roof fabric and fitting for around 400-500£. He’s a legend in car community. I traveled 5h there just to get roof done. Brand new. Worth the travel and you get to spend a night at sea side. Job takes 4-6h but due to distance worth of staying
