Nothing brave at when a shark eats you up.. A pool is a lot better to slim and life more than 20 years
I grew up doing this exact thing. It’s how you get past the breakers.
...and into shark territory.
“Brave” or Foolish… I suppose it’s subjective.
..Ух..крутой мужик..👍👍
I, my wife and brother use to swim across la jolla back in the nineties. I miss them days.
not too far from the seal colony.
There are always rough water swimmers in the La Jolla Cove area, every day of the week, year-round. But most are well beyond the beakers and wear a swimming body suit.
I’d feel more comfortable with fins swimming then with a board and I’m sure a lot of other surfers feel the same.
What's so brave about this?
🥰🥰🥰🥰
❤❤❤❤
I’m a Texas surfer and was visiting a friend decades ago who took me surfing here. I called ahead of time and asked if I needed my 3/2 shortie or full suit and he said, nah, you’ll be fine. I show up at the beach to meet him and everyone has full suits on and I instantly realized-oh shit, he’s an ex-navy seal. Wrong guy to ask. I lasted about sixty seconds 😂
Surfing in Texas?
What were you wearing in the end?
He wildin
🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🚶🚶🚶🚴🚴🚴🚴🚩
The “brave” part is that he’s trunking it in 61 degree water.
Maybe 60 degrees, maybe
@@Damian-tx5fy Water temps here have been relatively warm this winter.
@@joeblow1942 idk why I thought it said 51 degrees 😂 I surfed that day and it wasn’t too bad
@@Damian-tx5fy Ha, you saw it right before! I meant to type 61 originally but accidentally typed 51. I changed it.
He should have a wetsuit on at least for the added bouancy.
Nothing crazy about it. Swimming does happen.
I applaud the dude. He appears to be a capable swimmer with some stamina. He just wanted to experience rare big waves. I can relate.
Going into cold water unprepared is asking for problems. He seems okay for now but physics, meaning hypothermia is going to happen. It's not a question of if, but when, so hopefully he makes it back to the beach before it seizes him up. At that point it's a rescue and life threatening.
He must be from Kansas or Illinois go swim with the seals attract some sharks.😅
This guy has fins apparently knows what he’s doing and somehow he’s brave oh so brave and courageous adored by all ! Holy crap
I think his name is Darwin.
This guy is a hardcore old school " waterman" Bodysurfing La Jolla in mid winter sans wet suit
Really brave or really stupid. Hypothermia will happen in 15 minutes
Really, I didn’t use a wetsuit my first few years surfing and bodysurfing in the 70’s in similar water temperatures and never came close to hypothermia.
@@A-FrameWedge the comment must be thinking of arctic waters , not Southern California cold, where swimming can warm you up, unlike a cold water that kills no matter what
@@richardelliott8352 The Video location was in the Title of the video, La Jolla, California.
❤❤❤
any kind of board to stay afloat in that kind of stormy surf. A strong undertow could pull any living thing out to sea. No lifeguards? Wtf!
No fins?? Impressive.
He has fins or really big black webbed feet.
looks more like a body surfer to me?
a lazy bodysurfer...
Albino seal ?
He has flippers on he knows what he's doing
Clearly he didn’t watch the movie Jaws growing up 😮😂
Terrible stroke
During an El Nino year, the ocean in So Cal can be balmy in the winter. I think during this period temps were in the low 60s. I am from Santa Cruz and those types of temps during our Summer are almost tropical lol.
do you swim at Cowell's ?
@@CHAPELSKILLS I enjoy surfing and ocean swimming at Privates near Capitola. Water during late July early August can push into low 60s.
Skinning it, brave indeed.
with fins. perfect
The only danger here is when he goes to catch a wave and a board rider doesn't see him and accidentally drops in on him. Been there done that, the board tends to win always.
No wetsuite 🤯
I'm most impressed by his lack of a wetsuit definitely not a local. That water is freezing in La Jolla.
Water is not always freezing at La Jolla
@@cherrysunburst1959 I checked the temps during that week. Low 60s. Not too bad!
Could be a lifeguard on their break. Could very well be a local.
If he was wearing a wetsuit they might have mistaken him for a seal
🥰🥰
my favorite thing in Yellowstone is the grand canyon! but everything is awesome!
Yes, it is. Especially watching the Basin from close
This person is neither Brave nor a good swimmer what he's doing is suicidal
Brave..?? Idiotic..is the word..
Nah. All's good if you dive below the wave. Idiotic is river swimming in a strong current. Dive all you want. Current's still there.
Swimmer that knows what he's doing is far safer than some kook out on a surfboard.
wind and sea, been there...
Nope, La Jolla Cove.
Not brave, stupid. If he gets into trouble, folks will need to risk THEIR lives to rescue his dumbass.
A diver was swallow by a great white shark back in the 1959 in la jolla cove
Another about 8 years ago too
Now that is a New Years swim!!!!
Or stupid??
Lol, but for real he knew what he was doing
how can I find out about Dr hoolakoui Cruise ?
Looking very nice there in paradise.
