How do you tell where the high notes are?
I like how at parts such as 0:29 Wieniawski or the arrangers knew the fast notes of the cello part were crude and had the piano part end it for him lol

Yes, this piece is originally made for the violin, but the transcription was marvelous and wonderfully played!
I remember that I was stupid enough to do this for an audition I did it with less notes, and dropped double ones that made the piece sound chopped, but I made it with flying colors Bad thing is, I fucked up my bow because I was pressing a little too hard

It's a violin piece ;)
it's a cello piece. In the end, it probably wouldn't transfer great to the viola as the piece was written to span almost the whole cello range, so the shift in range of notes from the cello to viola would make this piece impossible, as if it wasn't hard enough.
Its not a cello piece it was originally for violin
Lol even if it was originally for cello, transposing it to the viola would play out easier as the viola has the same notes as cello just an octave higher. So you played yourself in both accounts.

The only way I could tell the Cellist's movements were real was because the pianist was moving at a normal speed... this guy is amazing!

Ive been playing this for years on the fiddle but its the first time ive heard it on the cello and i havent laughed so much for ages. Great playing - yo-yo ma eat your heart out !

@choc4luv Just learn it using the violin part, pretend you are playing violin while playing viola. The hard part will be for the piano part having to be played a fifth lower. Good luck.
