West 941 picked and bricked
Proudly presenting the first pick of this monster that decided to self-destruct after being picked. Well maybe I helped it a little.

Chances are my explanation of how a reverse sidebar works was insufficient, so here's a better video about this topic by naswek. ua-cam.com/video/JVz-t9FvK3A/v-deo.htmlsi=3Zsmo2_6VuPlKPIT
Kaba Star 6-row picked and gutted (orion29?)
I'm not sure if it's the orion29. The schematic mazken.jp/mazken/goods/kaba/imgs/goods/kabaorion29_02.jpg shows a bit different pin layout, especially the top right row. The pins in the schematic look very similar to these though. Thanks to @yabende !

I'm not retired lol also a keen eye might notice that the interactive spring shown in the first part of the video is different than the one in the second part, that's because I had a little mishap during the gutting and I had to replace it.

Nobody has used them for at least 10 years - 5 pin locks aren't used much anywhere in the world. They were surpassed by the Ruko 600, and later the Ruko 1200. The Ruko 500 was EXTREMELY vulnerable to bumping.
@@eidodk They're fun to pick though, so I don't see how is it relevant that they're not used anymore. Besides the 600 and 1200 can be picked just the same. You would also probably be very surprised how many 5pin schlages are the default lock in US
Terrific picking.
Now that's sick. Awesome work.
Beginning to end Absolutely brilliant mate, I really enjoyed that. Yes, gut it and fix it. I wonder how far it turns without bricking? Cheers and all the best to you and yours 👍 🍻 🍻
Thank you so much, I really appreciate your kind words. I think it definitely doesn't turn too far, but I wanted to be sure that the lock indeed appears picked in case someone had doubts :D
@@LockDoc reading through you comments, I'm really pleased Yabende will have a go at repairing it 👍❤️🕺
I used to own a cheap imitation of a Swiss army knife when I was a child. It had lots of utilities; a spoon , a file, a saw, among other things. One by one, each tool began to break. The fantasy of owning such a tool was quickly transformed into reality, and very quickly I didn't care about the knife anymore, adding to one of many childhood experiences: nothing is better than the individual tools.
@@laurenarndt464 I absolutely agree with you, there's no competition with individual tools here. That being said, among the "jackknife" style tools this one can definitely hold its own. Also you could say that for someone working in the say EMT field a tool like this might be more practical.
32 PINS??? 😲😲 WILD. Great picking! Congratulations on first public pick 👍👍 unfortunate about bricking it, maybe key still works if helped by gravity? So some orientations it still works some not?
@@LockFumbler you are kinda right, the key indeed worked when I flipped the lock upside down. however it regurgitated 3 pins and 2 bent springs so I'm pretty sure it needs to be fixed 😁 I'm sending it to yabende so hopefully he can put it back together.
@@LockDoc ✌😀
Lets Gooooo! Great pick man. Anyone can get the first gut on video but they can’t pick it first.
@@georgiajim2260 Thank you Jim I was pretty stoked about this as you could hear 😁 looking forward to your video !
Nice open! Sorry about the brick :(
@@LockpickingDev Yeah it sucks, I'm sending it to yabende so fingers crossed he can repair it.
That's a very interesting lock,,,, some excellent picking,, it's unfortunate about the brickage. Watched every minute 🙂👍🐝
@@terrybpickin9941 Thank you, watching it all is a feat of its own 😁
Great work! What a lock!!!
I watched the whole video. I personally enjoyed how high the "wtf" count got. Love these first opens on video. "LET'S FUCKN Go!" ☕☕
@@RetepReyem Haha thank you so much for enduring the whole thing, I actually didn't expect anyone will watch it so I just randomly talked 😁 let's go indeed !!!
Great job! Impressive. Sucks about the bricking. I really hate that lock format. It's one of the few things I dislike about Japanese locks so far.
Ouh shit, I seriously you’re joking. Going to watch that masterpiece now. Impressive! How long you have it now? 2 days? Respect to your picking skills. Glad you could recover it from the soft bricked state 🔥 well done 👍
@@dignitypicks thank you so much but the recovery was just an illusion, it's officially bricked since a bent spring and some pin fell out of there 🤣 anyway I left some comments in the classification channel
Wow that lock looked to have so much potential. I wonder how hard it would be if you would replace and change those parts. Like replace the sidebar with a square shaped one, replace the springs with stronger ones for the slider or weaker ones for the sidebar. Great job on the explanation and the picking! What you did there with the multipick tensioner is only possible because slider 2 and 3 needs to be set almost to the same height?
@@dignitypicks it definitely has potential, with some precise machining and quality control this would be a lot harder pick. we have some reverse sidebar locks that actually work (lixil). it's a shame. removing any "zerolifts" from the sliders could help too, as I said the sidebar tilts in resting state and kinda helps with tensioning. and yes the "trick" with MP tensioner works because 2 and 3 are same height and adjacent. would be a problem if 1 was zero. anyway, this lock is the same one like yabende and Plzz picked and each one of us used a different method. that shows how you can abuse this lock, but also that different bitting could be a lot harder.
Great job! Thanks for sharing and have a great week.
Nice!!!👌👍
Very nice
Did the company urban alps go out of business? Can't seem to find anything on Google about the stealth key except for UA-cam reviews and wiki pages. The website domain listed on Lockwiki seems to have been taken over by a weird video game company
Great picking mate 👍 what brand is your vise btw? Seen a lot these days 😅
Thank you ! The vise consists of panavise 312 base mount, panavise 305 base connected via some spigot adapters to a smallrig clamp. something similar is here : ua-cam.com/video/RErUBBauQVU/v-deo.htmlsi=xdR7rEQJjznud5-6

Nice work and wow what a beautiful lock 😳
yeah it's a beautiful beast 🤩
That's some next level picking! Congratz on the open and have a great weekend.
Amazing! Top shelf mate, those hpc kaba look insanely hard. Masterful skill. Great vid and thanks for showing it! Cheers
Thank you I really appreciate it ! Nice to see you stopping by. Cheers
Perfect work my friend 💪
awesome ;o
yeah
Well picked! Lol, "nipple pins" I can imagine some borderline thumbnails for these keypins 🙈
you and me both 😂 thank you!
Cool lock! We don't see many Ikon locks here in England, they're very few and far between. Great job on the open and thanks for sharing.
😲🥳💖
Fantastic picking as always and thanks for sharing.
Nice picking! DOM are always a fun lock to pick. Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend.
Nice picking, looks fun.
Would you be able to pick it if you wouldn't have seen the key?
I would, but it would probably take significantly longer. Seeing the key is not required to pick a lock but it helps a lot.
wow🎉 which “security” cylinder from DOM is unbeatable? Which cylinder security lock is then actually really considered unbeatable?
none of DOM locks are unbeatable, they are all vulnerable to lockpicking. in real life scenario they are very good locks and a potential burglar would almost certainly use another method of illegal entry. generally speaking 99,9% of locks can be picked in "laboratory conditions".
you are 100% correct, picking locks in "laboratory" conditions is considerably easier, nobody will ever attempt to pick this lock when installed in a door. this is a great and very secure lock.
Both sides look the same. This is the slider version of EPS, it has sliders instead of pins.
Hmmm, I should probably get one of these. It seems this lock gives good feedback.
Poor DOM. They've just copied the gege pextra....
can't say I agree, the pextra has very different, typical deep serrated driver pins. if anything the sirius is basically a DOM sigma with some extra passive pins - probably a patent extension
I've been wanting to do exactly this challenge. I don't think I can beat that time though 😆
Go for it! It's a really cool challenge, a lot more difficult than it looks like at first glance. I'm pretty sure you could beat the time if you choose some comfort locks ;)
Nice journey through all the belts. Perfect camera angle for viewing. Thank you Sir for awesome video
well, you're not wrong 😅 the lock has been discontinued anyway.
Wow i have that cylinder. But I also have a Beretta M9 in the drawer near my bed so.. I warmly suggest to don't try to pick mine :)
wow you have a gun! that is so cool ! guns are great and people who talk about having guns are even better!
Why do pickers show discs before picking it defeat the purpose of blind picking. So all pickers are doing is dialling them in. lol.
who said anything about blind picking? if I showed the disks after, would it qualify as a blind pick in your book? I always show the internals in my videos first. unless you watch a video where someone opens a sealed original box and somehow doesnt look at the key and picks the lock in one take, chances are you are watching someone picking a lock that they have picked before and have an idea where the disks / other elements are supposed to be.
Great picking 😃👍🐈⬛🐾🍻👏
