I used to have them in my old neighborhood in fact one lost it's partner so it caused problems my mommy and I named him Raphy and then there was a single female that followed me everywhere my former neighbors used to say it was my late mother since she loved the cranes

Dude, to get so close you are brave sir. Being from florida I have been attacked 2 times. They are very territorial. Beautiful birds don’t get me wrong, I love watching them walk around with their chicks.

...this morning one of the two that were in our front yard almost ripped a Chipmunk in half...they chased it into the street an almost unalived it,right in front of me...😳

I live by a sandhill crane refuge and right now we have a set of mates hanging around putting on a show they come up while I'm playing guitar like it's intriguing to them or something

I have been living in Florida for just 5-1/2 years, and when I first saw these birds, I felt like I was in Jurassic Park. I was in disbelief. I'm from Connecticut and never saw birds like this in person. They are beautiful birds and awesome to look at. I hope I can get a picture of them next time.

Ha!! I knew it! I saw these guys when I took a trip to Florida last year. Just now, gardening in my front yard in CALIFORNIA, I heard this sound and saw a massive flock of birds flying overhead. I was too late to get the binoculars, but I looked this video up to see if I was right about the call. Sure enough, we just got a flock of Sandhill Cranes flying over our house :) What a treat!

They are such amazing animals. I would like to build a nice little pen in my backyard and get a pair of them to keep as pets. Hopefully they would have babies and I could sell the offspring. Also, I understand that they are very good to eat so if things don't work out I could sell them for the meat.

I've been wondering what the heck the birds were that have been regularly flying over my house and making such a unique call. Now I know! Curious that there's so many in Michigan in the winter (though they were also here in the fall, possibly summer, too).

I been in Florida for roughly 3 months now. I watched jurassic park the night before and the next morning I heard these birds and my first thought was I HEAR A RAPTOR! 😂😂😂

I absolutely love these birds! We see/hear them so often where I live, and they're honestly such an eccentric piece of Florida's natural life that is just really nice to observe. If you like birds, that is. To think they were once on the endangered species list is a crime. But I'm so glad their population has made a comeback!

You think thats loud, I chase them down the Mountain bike, when I come on them by surprize them on my bike, and there is sometimes 2 or 3 at once, they are louder then my old girlfriend for sure.. well not by much though... ;) !!!
