I have a brand new 2024 rheem heat pump in NY, specifically Long Island. It sucks! I don’t know how people give so many positive reviews. Its between 19F-35f and it gives out between 77f and 80 out my registers. It’s not enough to heat my house and i heat it to 67 only! The insulation just got done in my house too. Honestly duel fuel is the way to go up north. Worst investment ever.

How much on average should I expect to pay for a unit like this to be installed replacing a regular electric 240v HWH of the same size in 2025? Also, can they be set up with a recirculating pump that keeps hot water constantly pumping around the house?

Bought a 96% Goodman furnace it short cycled immediately after starting!!! After days of trying to figure it out, I found a video of the 90 degree rubber elbow that connects inducer motor and exhaust to condensation trap, the elbow was tilted toward inducer motor causing the 1st stage pressure to not close because of water intrusion! Had to take and adjust the elbow to tilt it towards the condensation drain to stop the pressure switch staying open!!! Anyway Goodman should have caught this in their qc dept and they need to put a recall on these furnaces immediately and fix the problem!!!!! If I ever need another furnace and Goodman doesn’t fix it I will not buy another furnace from Goodman! Full stop!!

Although he gave quick precise information about the differences, the fact that you’re putting those prices out there is ridiculous. A quick Google search will show you the cost of a quality heater.

Biggest con is they need to be backflushed every year or they clog up. Not recommended for well water system with high mineral content.

Code 12 but only when one faucet is used. All other faucets it works fine.

I wouldn't take a Trane if they paid me. They have no integrity as a company. I worked for a company that they bought from when they returned products I date coded each part of a unit I sent out and when they returned units they said were faulty the date codes never matched on the individual parts to the product so they had taken worn out parts and replacing with new parts and returning the old part with new units.

When the power goes out it's just another item you won't have and if I was still living upstate NY I'd pass.

My navien tank is junk. I have been receiving a valve error that I can fix after resetting but that’s after losing heat, any benefits I have received by having lower bills will be undermined by the stress of worrying about burst pipes and the necessary remediation by plumbers charging 300 an hour.

I have a natural gas tank now that is direct vented through the side of my house and if I went to a gas tankless model would I be able to use that same opening and not have to create an additional hole through the wall? I don’t mind paying for the newer venting material I just don’t want to have another opening if possible
