I did not come out the security area since i only took a transfer layover in Chicago O'Hare airport. if you need to go from terminal 2 to terminal 1, you can use ATS train. I took the train to transfer from terminal 5 to terminal 1 after I flight from Tokyo to Chicago with United Airline. I had to claim my luggage and check in before I fly back to Canada.
