Another song off of the great Bonded By Blood album. I like this version (live version off of Another Lesson In Violence live album) better cause it sounds heavier and Paul Baloff's vox is just too metal. RIP Paul Baloff. Another great thrash metal band from the Bay Area. I only got to see them once live at Slim's with Exodus and Kreator. And They kicked maximum ass! This song does not get the attention it deserves. I think this is the best track off of South Of Heaven. It starts fast and remains effin' fast till the end. I chose the Live Kreation version of The Patriarch because I love how it sounds with a slow tempo and I believe it sounds better than the original. A good intro and a very metal way to start a show. any tips for playing faster with fingers? I started playing bass a month ago maybe, so I cant keep up with fast sepultura tracks, anyways you made a really good job! sepultura rules🤘🤘
yeah just practice for like 2 hours a day with only fingers. and try to push yourself, dont just do slow tempo songs everday
Do not dig too hard, speed needs controlled right hand not too forceful.

I've been watching them play this live, does Tom play this live aswell in the verses? I feel like he just shreds one note the whole time but i can't really tell from the footage I've seen. Nonetheless, nice cover!
Thanks man, I appreciate it! I think during the early years, he would play along with the guitars. Then during the latter years, whenever they include this song in their setlist, Tom would just play one note. My observation but I could be wrong.
From the look of it he's playing something different but it's not clear. He might just be playing the same riff but moving it all down to open E being the root note rather than fret 7 on the A string

the bass from overkill is realy fucking nice.
First of all excellent cover of a classic Sepultura bass line . What model is that fender precision ? With machineheads still covered in plastics it looks as if you just got it . Has a bit more growl than the present day Mexican made Fender p basses . Which is too bad because in the mid 90s you could get an amazing precision bass Mexican or Japanese made for about 320 350 .
Thanks, appreciate it. Its a MIJ pbass. I got it 4 years ago in Japan. I just did not bother to take off the plastics on the tuning pegs and on the pickguard. Ill probably keep it on till they fall off. hehe
