Bugs seem to have the same "flare" mechanic. They screech and orange spores come from their mouth, which calls a bug breach. The "flare" mechanic that calls bot drops and bug breaches has another thing where if you kill the bot or bug about to send it, another enemy that is capable of sending flares can "pick up" the cancelled flare and send one

Hey, thank you. I really appreciate that. I still think about him a lot, and my friends who knew him miss him too. I watch it myself sometimes, mainly for the parts after 2:14. A friend of mine described it as a viking funeral for him and honestly it helps to remind me he isn't really dead because he left a legacy, a genuine impact on his friends and family. The engine fire is symbolically meant to be representative of his resolve in life, though. I hope to make more projects like this film in the future where I can continue to capture the feeling I get when I see the shot at 2:57 with the flames trailing behind the tank and the rays of orange light they're giving off to the side. This film was also the first time I've used sound effects extensively, and that choice was meant to symbolize everything life throws at you. Even with everything hammering from all directions and a raging fire, it takes a certain kind of person to not only push forward but remain patient and kind despite that. I still feel close to Vorsch whenever I rewatch this because it reminds me to stick to my values and try to be the best person I can be, so that one day, the people I've left my mark on will remember me in a capacity that'll inspire them as Vorsch (or Erik, rather) did with me. Again, I really appreciate that it means as much as it does to you and I'm happy to have helped bring some solace despite the tragedy of his passing.

Hi - so many poignant moments like when the 2 tanks are visiting different sites and locations - I could hear Erik explaining some historical fact or giving a bit of trivia! And yes - the scene where you're both saying goodbye still makes me cry. It was so beautifully orchestrated. I want to share that Erik knew Jesus - he wasn't outspoken about it but his faith gave him strength to not be mad or hard about life. He was exceptionally kind and patient and loving. He never said his life was unfair, or blamed God for his illness. Instead he leaned on his faith to be the best person he could be! After going to Conneaut OH for a WWII event - he came home and said he wanted to represent a Military Chaplain because of what he saw them doing. His dad and I were helping him put together his Chaplain kit. He even got a lesson plan from his pastor about how to talk to people about Jesus. I have all that now. When Erik was 6 he walked up to the altar all by himself to ask for healing. He wasn't healed though and when I talked to him later that evening he said 'oh mom - I know some boo boos take longer to heal than others!' That was Erik!!! I know I'll be reunited with him when it's my time to go. Until then I'll share his story of faith! I loved the end of your video - looking straight into the barrel of the tank - it's like Erik is saying - I made it Mom - this world might've gotten me but now I'm Home with my Savior and now I'm Healed!!!
