i was watching Mars Argo online as it was happening. i loved it. then one day they disappeared and when i saw Poppy pop up online i lost it. i was so confused, who was this? i immediately thought she was pretending to be Mars Argo. that's just what i thought immediately without even knowing who she was or that Titanic was actually behind it. I'm so happy that Mars has made some new songs. I hope she keeps going and I'll support her. 💙 Angry and I Can Only Be Me

I am so so happy that people are still talking about Mendieta and her work more and more. She was such a strong artists whos work is just facinating and her death is very telling of the climate of the world at the time (and probably now if were being honest). This was a GREAT watch!

Happy that Mars Argo is releasing music on Spotify and I’m glad you brought up Ana Mendieta because prior to this video I never heard of her and her artwork is stunning and full of emotion that really speaks volumes….Carl passed away a month ago and I only hope that that he has met whatever judgement the afterlife has given him, fuck that man. What's really telling in these cases is how Carl and Titanic were never truly blackballed. It says more about "the academy" than it says about them.

This is a fantastic, wonderfully put together video. As someone who discovered Mars some time around late 2016 and was a fan of Poppy prior to that, I remember how crazy things were when the lawsuit was filed, and honestly, I feel a lot of empathy for both Mars and Poppy since I was in an abusive relationship with someone very similar to Titanic up until 2021, and I bought into the whole 'my exes are all crazy and they manipulated me, not the other way round' BS my abuser would tell me until I finally spoke with an ex of his who is a very levelheaded, kind, self-sufficient woman and nothing like he described. Regardless of Mars and Poppy's relationship with each other (if there ever was one to begin with beyond the lawsuit), I have so much respect for both of them being brave enough to bring to light the abuse they suffered, and they both continue to be inspirations to me, creatively and otherwise.

I can't imagine what it would feel like to watch yourself be copied and replaced like that. Sinclair is insane.

Such an underrated essay. I had this sitting in my watch later for a hot minute while I was on a Mars Argo streak. Now, maybe I'll be on an Ana Mendieta streak. She made such beautiful works (as did Mars.) This ruin of talented women by men out of jealousy, malice, whatever has shown up time and time again, yet no one seems to learn from it. It's uncomfortable to mention, but yes, I'm always going to be skeptical of men, of white men especially, when they have too strong of a grip on their woman partners.
