I hate to sound like the Star Trek know it all here…. It is my understanding that “shields” and “deflectors” were two separate things in season one. This had something to do with the way that Gene Roddenberry had things worked out in the early writers “bible.” If you watch through season one, you will see multiple instances where they refer to shields and deflectors. Later seasons, after Gene Roddenberry died, they just used the term “shields” as a catch all term for both functions. Indeed, in this episode, when they were entering the planets, atmosphere, multiple characters, keep referring to deflectors, nearing overload, or deflectors failing. One would imagine, that they could drop the shields and beam up the away team, while still somehow protected by using their deflectors. I’m not saying it is logical, I’m just saying that that is what Gene Rodenberry specified. I have seen multiple interviews with writers and producers from that era who had to deal with him. Specifically on this issue of shields and deflectors. It was some kind of important issue and distinction for him. Even though all of those people in the interviews thought he was crazy.

Noticed that the usual funny evolution artwork and animations show it with a tail that has no verification through the fossil record. In fact, lobe finned fish always have wide vertical tails. More on that later.If there is no link from fish to land animals, and if you really do your homework you will find out there is not, then there goes the whole so-called evolutionairy chain of life. Notice the artwork of Tiktaalik. The tail is small and the kind that could easily slide onto land. Just another example of endless evolutionary fake artwork. Tiktaalik was a lobe finned fish. All lobe finned fish have broad vertical tails, the kinds that certainly would not be amenable to climbing onto land. In other fake artwork you see it being shown with strong muscular leg-like fins. But look at the fossil, there is no evidence for any such things. What is left of the fins, which isn’t much, doesn’t even hint at any musculature, much less the ability to climb out of water onto land. Evolutionists like to use very fragmentary fossils which they can weave fairytales around, with their fake art and fake computer simulations. The person who discovered Tiktaalik, Neil Shubin, admitted that it is not possible to know if it is a transitional form. But he says that if it wasn’t, then some thing like it was. The evidence he provides for something like it? Not even a fragment of a fossil. So that’s what evolutionists have to offer to prove to you that you came from a fish. A very fragmented fossil that we don’t know even had a descendent. And it is nothing but a fish. An extinct lobe finned fish per ichthyologists. In evolution you are supposed to ignore the real overflowing data and make up stories that don’t match the data. For example, we have countless billions of fossilized fish, and living fish, some of which are lobe finned. They are all 100% nothing but fish. But instead of looking at them and seeing the obvious, evolutionists want you to look at some fragmentary fossil which they tell emperors new clothing stories about, so that you will buy their narrative. You ain’t a fish update. Or a bacteria or Lucy or whatever update. You were created in the image and likeness of the heavenly father.

I've never been a fan of the "born this way" argument. People should just be able to live the way they want. Even if it's a choice. Two straight men can be married if they want to share benefits and live as bachelors. Granted this has most probably never happened but it should be legal.
