The X88E needs better keys with a less sharp pivot angle and some better sounds. Only one piano patch? Build quality is good. Connectivity is good, though audio lineout would have been great. 88 keys are too many in a portable instrument. 73 is better.

The finger clicking sounds out of time with the instrument. Some sort of sound processing latency?

I purchased the Terence X88E. As a premium price folding piano, it needs a better action and more than 36 sounds, especially more than one grand piano sound, plus some ability to tweak the piano sounds. Parametric EQ would help a lot. A beginner can use the X88E, but rapid arpeggios are impossible due to the shortness of the keys and the corresponding pivot angle. The rough key texture is exaggerated and the instrument is reaĺly too big and heavy. There is no point in having so many keys on a folding piano. 73 is plenty, and that (folded) would be short enough to qualify as cabin luggage on an airplane. It would also be better for practising in tight spaces while on holiday or on business trips. Of course, other manufacturers are making precisely the same mistake, with only 88/61 key models available. I shall have to make do with a 61 key model, and forget about doing any serious practice on it. At least I can fly with it. I did like the build quality and the connectivity, and the almost weighted feeling of the keys. The main piano tone is a bit weird through the monitor speakers, but OK through headphones, so it's better than most competitors' folding piano sounds, I'm sure. In summary: I must congratulate this manufacturer on its advances in folding piano technology, but I request that my feedback is only quoted in its entirety.
