Awesome
I just picked up a yamaha custom tenor yts-875 sn 004241. Can you advise what year this might have been made?
i wanna hear u play 15 years later!!! im a sax player urself and i relate to ur sound :)
I was on the fence about getting one in since I'm getting back into playing the tennor after s few years. But don't want to spend 1000+ on a brand new horn and don't want a used once. This will be a hobby at home and not me performing like a use to. Thank you again.
I want this… but I can’t afford.
Nice playing!
Thanks Steve for this. I own one that's also in mint condition. You sound really great.
Nice Sax steve
Hi Steve, did you write this by any chance? ua-cam.com/video/Z0WwWnRTKO0/v-deo.htmlsi=8EUY2QtK-kCAdube
Gracias por su explicación maestro! Una consulta que nivel es en comparación a otra trompeta del mercado?
awesomely .. thanks mate !
Very good this is my dream instrument
I could make your dreams come true !
Sax .Co. uk have these horns , they have a demo on UA-cam
What's the name of the song played toward the end..anyone?? Beautiful Steve.
Intonation sounds off
4:14 I got my Purple logo 61 in Jr High circa 1978 according to Yamaha's Tech support research. Wish I knew enough to take better care of it back then, but I'm still playing it!
❤❤❤
My favorite channel.
Parabens pelo trabalho. Sugiro, desde que o senhor possa, melhorar a qualidade do equipamento de som. Abs! 1
Thanks for the demo Steve. In your opinion how do these Yamahas compare with Selmer sopranos you've tried?
Oh what a lovely tone! 🫶🏻 I’m going to look at a Conn 16m 1977 tenor today. But everyone keeps telling me they’re not aswell sought after than the earlier models.
I have a Venus in copper, bought second-hand at a local music shop for a serendipitical price. I'm not nearly as accomplished as you (piano is my first love), but it's just such a wonderful instrument for ambience and mood. Thanks for sharing.
Is your website down? I wanted to look at your stock.
It should be good www.stevegraysaxes.com
Mr Gray you are an inspiration to me thank you so very much for your contribution .
Very good sound 👌
I enjoyed your descriptions and your playing. It did seem to me, too, the second clarinet played and sounded better. I used to play. I actually played a 1950s Noblet. An uncle through marriage loaned it to me and spitefully asked for it 23 years later, when I was still playing it in a community orchestra. I bought three used clarinets over the successive years and never found a horn with rich sound of that Noblet. I still miss it. Again, thank you for your video and your playing.
fantastic
What mouth piece do you recommend for a blues sound I have the same bari but it looks like it was painted by factory .. it's 1980 model from elkhart
Thank you. What a great horn. You can’t beat a Selmer saxophone. God bless you. By. Uk 🎷🎷🎷
Nice video, thanks. Did you use the same reed as you do on your Brilhart for these?
Very sharp
Does anyone know who sings the song, “Up”? I can’t find it for the life of me.
Shania Twain
@@jordyreneeee THANK YOU SO MUCH OMG!!!

Sounds a tad sharp in relation to the piano.
I use to work in Nogales Factory, and I was QC encharged, ours was wonderful pieces but You right, never the same as originals!
wtffff.........wowww o lord.... what a legend
In terms of playability how would you say this compares to the Yamaha 62?
Oh man, that thing sounds good. I've always preferred the 62 myself but these are still great horns.
Sounds fun!
sounds kinda like an electric guitar, one might think it's an electric guitar when they hear this without context.
Sounds fantastic, great tone and playing.
Soft and mellow sound.
Anyone know what ballad this is?
Sounds great Steve! I hope to have a Yamaha YTS-62III tenor sax in about a year. I'm sure it will be a really nice upgrade from my Jean Paul tenor
This would have been OK except for the failure to do a basic thing like rotate the video before posting.
what is your mouthpiece sir?
Thanks for sharing! Just found me a mint version early model like yours. Do you mind sharing what mouthpiece you used for this demo? Very nice playing and sound!
I have a 301098 . Lush
If you still have this horn, is it for sale?
Long gone. Steve check my page for bari”s www.stevegraysaxes.com
And you sound great as usual...Leroy and Yvonne are doing well in the bay area....
