Hello and welcome to MilitaryBandsSouthWest! My name is Marc, i am a 22 year old lad from the southwest of the UK and this is where you can find all my content of banding from across the UK! i dont get to go to many events but now with more free time i plan to get out to many events across the southwest of the uk! i cant wait to hopefully make some great freinds on this new endeavour & show you guys some great band content!

Good parade. Good quality of sound recording. Percussion drum solo Recording were amazing closely to room record. Piccolo were impressive as well.

Sorry, this camerawork is shocking ... wobbly, disfunctional and makes people dizzy just watching it.
ill admit, i wasnt planning on filming this, i wasnt sure if i'd be able to get out to birdcage walk intime, i'd agree this isnt my best work because i didnt have my usual stablizing gimbal/selfie stick with me, but thankyou for the feedback

Why do they play Sari Marais? It is a Boer song.
the reason Sarie Marais is played is because it is the Regimental march of the Royal Marines Commando's of which these guys are their "regimental" Band - hope this helps :)

@@MilitaryBandsSouthWestUK the role of the British has been pivotal in liberating bEurope in WWII. The song , however, originates from the Boers who were defeated by the Brits in the second Boer war.

I grew up in Deal in Kent and used to go to the barracks at least once a week to watch them practice and loved it even though I was very cold sometimes,unfortunately the problems with the IRA put a stop to that and the marines moved .
Precision Marching and Playing displayed. The change from three columns to five was brilliantly executed as they left the narrow street onto the wider street. Have seen this Band several times and they are a Great Ambassador for The Royal Marines Band Service.👍👍

What's with the "show-pony" high kicks by the DM?
It’s part of the DMs drill, it’s strange but I think it’s more for show
“Show pony “ lol. You know... proper Brits eat grapes with a fork, place the dinner knife on a rest, and never say “ yeah “. They are also truthful, but polite, and you might misinterpret that as nice.

Would be heard echoing across the drill square whenever the RSM or Drill Sgt witnessed "Step short" or "mark time" performed with "Show-pony high kicks" ,as demonstrated by this DM. it's a shabby and amateurish attempt at "individual flair" by the DM, unworthy and uncharacteristic of ANY members of Her Majesty's Royal Marines, and reminiscent of ex-junior cadet standard's of personal drill.
@@ChrisPbiker I like the “ individual flair” comment especially. I never thought of it regarding the military, because it’s supposed to be beaten out if you. I’m going to use that at every opportunity, with credits of course, to see if my girlfriend will stop calling me an A hole. I can’t stop laughing. Thank you.
